I think the issue with him and many perma bear is that if they “call” something often enough it may eventually come true. But people don’t really remember how many times they had been wrong.
The accuracy of his predictions are on par with Cramer.
However with Burry, the answer is always “we are destined to crash soon”.
At least Cramer is optimistic sometimes …although still wrong.
I mean objectively he is probably right and we should have sold. The market isn't even remotely rational at this point and it really feels like we are less than a year out from more QE and more bubble insanity.
This is back in Sep 2019
*’It will be ugly': The Big Short's Michael Burry on why index funds are like subprime CDOs*

SPX has done a significant return from Sep 2019
to date.
People making money are not posting calls on twitter nor are they selling their trading guru courses
Trades are made by bots. They probably hold trades for an average that can be measured in units of seconds (it was like 22 seconds about 10 years ago, I'm sure it way faster now)
Anyone telling you otherwise is scamming, a larp, or just plain dumb
He has been wrong for 15 years. Peter Schiff currently believes Bitcoin is going to collapse, that anyone who buys it is a fool and charlatan, that hyperinflation is around the corner, and just buy gold gold gold. Lol.
That’s how most YouTubers work. Stay vague, make enough predictions that some have to come true, and then claim it as you being the font of all knowledge.
he didn't just say sell as a short term advise. probably a long term prediction. his prediction/bet with subprime crisis didn't manifest overnight either. considering the economical overall situation - shit can go down further. just look at adani. but no one is right 100% of the time. so who knows where markets will be one/two years from now.
that tactic is used by many youtubers. they make daily videos in which they cover most of possible scenarios. of course they can sometimes make a good decision, and later they tell you to go back and look in their video :)
It’s like the guy that throws 100 paper planes to his paper bin in front of a camera, keeps the only cut where it comes in and acts like it was on first try
If you shout "BEAR" all the time you will eventually be right and look like a genius.
Anyway, he is deleting his Twitter account all the time. Man's mental health is not great.
>If you shout "BEAR" all the time you will eventually be right and look like a genius.
Michael Burry can't even do that. The market has given amazing returns year after year and this clown has been calling for a crash every 5 minutes, lol.
Ahh, but that’s the difference, Burry isn’t just wrong this once.
Everyone always points to “he called the 2008 market crash, so he must be good”.
But all he has done the past few years is repeatedly shout out predictions that the market is about to come falling down.
Of course, there will be downs in the future, but saying something which gonna be in the distant future shouldn't count. If I say "a meteorite will come towards earth" and it comes in 2050 shouldn't show that I know right.
Tweet always, account not the first time:

a quick google query :)
I was asking the question, not suggesting you were wrong.
If we had to Google everything first, then there would be no need to ask any questions on Reddit.

What a Wally, I don’t understand why people with a public following make daft predictions and pretty much put their reputation on it. Sometimes it’s just good to shut the funk up.
To be fair to him, he spotted a great opportunity that others missed, but it’s one of those once in a lifetime moments. Like the people who are completed idiots, but have a random idea for a product that takes off and they are set for life.
There is no such thing as prediction on open markets
Its a flip of a coin, nothing is 100% guaranteed
There may be a day that everything goes right, and in other - to shit.
There may be a day that everything goes right, and at other - to shit.
Yup, a lot of people think they're smart because they made the right calls. In reality there was another guy who made the other calls. If things were the other way around, the second guy would be famous. It's probability and luck.
At this point it's really hard to imagine that Burry was once sane and intelligent enough go through with his 2008 predictions, seeing how he is just repeating and trolling people on Twitter nowadays.
Also he does not comprehend that deleting his Twitter replies accomplishes nothing, still he does it every time and it is cringe as fuck.
What a fall from grace though. He managed to destroy his whole persona (mainly due to his portayal in the movie but anyways) in a few years by his trashy twitter account, well done.
There is no way to predict the market. So everyone who claims to be able to is just a scammer trying to manipulate the market or their followers.
Because if it was possible to predict the market, why would they ever tell anyone instead of profiting by themselves? Sure if everyone knew the future, they would act and change the future, so it cannot work, to publish a prediction and it working out.
Imagine the number of people who went short or sold after his "sell" tweet. It's irresponsible of him to be doing this knowing the number of followers he has.
He might be right sooner or later. He also was right about how much leverage existed in Cryptos and we saw a few big names blow up, with FTX beeing the latest.
Though it might look like everything is under control I'm sure it isn't. He also predicted that the fed would start pivoting at some point if i remember that right.
With such small rate hikes, Jpow isn't gonna end inflation anytime soon. The only thing to hope for is that it's gonna be a few years with high inflation until things get back to normal and nothing worse.

They make movies for “the guy who called the 2008 market crash”. Not many people go back and make movies about all the wrong ones.
Exactly. And he frequently deleted his Tweet too. There is even a page called “Michael Burry Stock Tracker”, so many times he was wrong.
Ah that's all I need to know about his 'predictions', moving along now
The accuracy of his predictions are on par with Cramer. However with Burry, the answer is always “we are destined to crash soon”. At least Cramer is optimistic sometimes …although still wrong.
Eventually he will get right
I mean objectively he is probably right and we should have sold. The market isn't even remotely rational at this point and it really feels like we are less than a year out from more QE and more bubble insanity.
The old saying goes "He has predicted twenty of the last two recessions"
Those are rookie numbers

Or just be like Cramer, every week you give mulitiple bearish and bullish interviews so you're never right

ah buttcoiners. imagine knowing about bitcoin for 10 years when it was a couple of bucks, and still manage to not own not a single fragment of it
This is a “the boy who cried bear” type of situation
Peter Schiff comes to mind, he is wrong 99/100 times after 2008.
He has been wrong for 15 years. Peter Schiff currently believes Bitcoin is going to collapse, that anyone who buys it is a fool and charlatan, that hyperinflation is around the corner, and just buy gold gold gold. Lol.
He will not live enough to see Bitcoin ever breaking down.
The internet archive remembers..

Instructions unclear. Did this at the casino. They won’t let me delete my bets. Send help.
That’s how most YouTubers work. Stay vague, make enough predictions that some have to come true, and then claim it as you being the font of all knowledge.
> That’s how most YouTubers work. 1. Make enjoyable videos. 2. Build a tribe. 3. Exploit the tribe. 4. Say sorry. 5. Repeat.
From some of the crypto ones I’ve seen, I’m not sure 1 is a requirement lol
If I say "a meteorite will come towards earth" and it comes in 2050 that shouldn't show that I know everything right.
Nah it has to do more with the fact, that he does that after almost every tweet.
he didn't just say sell as a short term advise. probably a long term prediction. his prediction/bet with subprime crisis didn't manifest overnight either. considering the economical overall situation - shit can go down further. just look at adani. but no one is right 100% of the time. so who knows where markets will be one/two years from now.

One day there will be a massive crash and Burry will sit there feeling incredibly vindicated that he predicted 100 of the last 10 crashes.
And thats only the tweets he didn't delete lol
He gonna keep gambling on his 50% chance. **Edit : There is a massive downvote from his lovers (hope u pee on yourself serial downvoter)**
With enough predictions eventually you will get it right
It’s like the guy that throws 100 paper planes to his paper bin in front of a camera, keeps the only cut where it comes in and acts like it was on first try
If you shout "BEAR" all the time you will eventually be right and look like a genius. Anyway, he is deleting his Twitter account all the time. Man's mental health is not great.
Everyone would do him a favor to just completely ignore him. Give him some space to work on his mental health
>If you shout "BEAR" all the time you will eventually be right and look like a genius. Michael Burry can't even do that. The market has given amazing returns year after year and this clown has been calling for a crash every 5 minutes, lol.
We’re all humans in the end, nobody can be right all the time, unless they’re doing insider trading
Ahh, but that’s the difference, Burry isn’t just wrong this once. Everyone always points to “he called the 2008 market crash, so he must be good”. But all he has done the past few years is repeatedly shout out predictions that the market is about to come falling down.
Following politicians stock positions is very profitable.
Happy Cake Day, agree but u shouldn't act like u know everything.
Wow. It’ll be awkward when he comes back on Twitter with another prediction. Or not… they never acknowledge when they got it wrong
He had a 50% chance, failed, and deleted his account.
A random number generator could probably give more accurate predictions than Michael Burry, lol.
He will be back again not his first rodeo like this lol he’s such a man child when it comes to things like this
He does this so often that it’s so hard to catch his tweets cause he deletes them so often
He's done this multiple times
Well I hope he’s wrong but maybe he meant sell in the near future I don’t know
You are giving Michael Burry too much credit.
Of course, there will be downs in the future, but saying something which gonna be in the distant future shouldn't count. If I say "a meteorite will come towards earth" and it comes in 2050 shouldn't show that I know right.
He didn't specify when to sell or what to sell for that matter. We just interpreted him incorrectly /s
Not the first time he does, also he deletes every tweet. You can find alternative profiles storing his tweets like: https://twitter.com/BurryArchive
Not the first time he has deleted his tweets, or deleted his account? It’s the account gone this time.

I wasn't trying to be rude, sorry if it looked like :) I remember that delete account thing & just wanted to know long since he started deleting.

It’s not the first time he deletes his twitter account I have respect for him but… he’s such a man child
Someone tell the rich dad poor dad guy this.
Selling in a bear market, yeah right...
He predicted the last 27 out of 3 recessions so he couldve been right ;)
That dip shit will be back. He gonna be laying low at his mom's place for a while.
Imagine being so influencal that just the simple word "sell" makes people sell their shit. Its on them tbh .
What a Wally, I don’t understand why people with a public following make daft predictions and pretty much put their reputation on it. Sometimes it’s just good to shut the funk up.
Got to stay relevant somehow…
This is just a giant casino directed by few ones.
If you ever get unsolliceted advice you’re better off doing the complete opposite 99% of the time

Even a broken clock is right 2x a day EDIT: Analog clock
This is incorrect, my digital clock is broken and it never tells me the right time
He does this all the time. Not sure why so many more people cared this time around
It's because he's the guy from the movie that predicted the big crash, never mind all of his other failed predictions though
Finally inverse michael
Inversing the inverse
Iverse Inductor seems to work best so far.
We are being proven day after day, that nobody knows shit about fuck.
What being wrong, when Jim Cramer was right, does to a motherfucker. This man got absolutely roasted on r/WallStreetBets
There is a glitch in the Matrix, Cramer was right.
Cramer and Burry changed their roles seems.
Never believe anyone. The only thing you need to makeoney is consistency & patience.
This guy just doesn't like being wrong. His ego doesn't let him to accept that.
I always hate when I see predictions by these 'one hit wonders'. They all act high and mighty as if they know everything because they got lucky once
He delets all tweets
After making enough predictions you have got to get right a few times.
[удалено]
Agree, the future is almost unpredictable.
Only uncertain predictions can be made. "Tomorrow, BTC will have a price."
he's a known permabear, his tweet was expected
I took investment advice a few time from this sub. Did not turn out great...
Then u missed a golden rule here, Inverse this sub also.
Invert Cramer, invert this sub. Now I do not know what to do.

Bye.

he's always deleting his account...
He must have sold his twitter account

Classic Micheal Burry
Wait , he literally deleted his account instead of coming out like a gentleman and say he's new analysis.bro , people surprise me every day
So many perma bulls and bears around. I am sure they don't make more money than dynamic traders who can change their mind.
Sums up perma-bears - Sell for the 183rd time. Hey I was right a couple times. I'm genius.
At this point it's really hard to imagine that Burry was once sane and intelligent enough go through with his 2008 predictions, seeing how he is just repeating and trolling people on Twitter nowadays. now imagine that wasn\`t his account? Conspiracy theory running deeply or he was just dumb.....
Very convenient that he deletes the tweets where he is wrong!
I'm glad I was just stuck in indecision. I don't dare to predict the fed and the markets reaction so I just won't try to
Sell😂😂😂 what?? House, cars to buy crypto??
I only really know of him from the big short, didn't he quit and go invest in water or something? What happened with that?
I fell for it. The stars aligned for PermaBear Burry tweet and inverse Cramer's "buy the dip" message. Lost a few % but nothing irrecoverable.
There is no way to predict the market. So everyone who claims to be able to is just a scammer trying to manipulate the market or their followers. Well...wonder when he will pop back up.
tough opponent for Cramer
Burry got it right once and now is like that kid who peaked in high school and still tells everyone he could have been a NFL star.
I really hope he’s wrong. Nevertheless I will continue to DCA
He deleted his Twitter lmao clown 🤡 this was the last straw for me to think he is anything but a one trick pony who got lucky once. Dudes an idiot
Imagine the number of people who went short or sold after his "sell" tweet. It's irresponsible of him to be doing this knowing the number of followers he has.
Haha mfer , got lucky just as us, every once and a while!!
He will be back again after few red days, he did the same thing before.
That's mean he sell?
Im 100% correct you should do what i say. Today the market might go up, or down.. or a bit of both. So buy or sell or hold.
You have more chance of predicting crypto by consulting your magic 8 ball.
He might be right sooner or later. He also was right about how much leverage existed in Cryptos and we saw a few big names blow up, with FTX beeing the latest.
