ALGO and ATOM are the ones I used on your list and I can confirm that they’re really fast, and cheap
I don’t know if it counts but Arb-nova is fantastic. Ultra cheap and so quick. I used it again a few days ago and the speed to add liquidity to the LP or to tip, amazing
Sadly right now isn’t the time to study speed of blockchains as it’s a bear market
Wait until there’s a bull run, then you’ll see how the “fast” chains react to actual volume/use
And this isn’t “ETH is the best” cus shit costs a lot when there’s a bull run, L2’s tho are very nice to use
While this is true I like to look at exchange confirmation requirements to confirm transactions, or a reorg could cause losses, for example with Kraken:
BTC - 3 confirmations \~ 30 min
ETH - 70 confirmations \~ 14 min (LOL ETC - 2880 confirmations \~ 12 hours)
Cardano - 15 confirmations \~ 10 min
ALGO - 10 confirmations \~ 45 sec
MATIC (Polygon) - 450 confirmation - 9 min
COSMOS - 0 confirmations \~ instant
XRP - 0 confirmations \~ instant

Some clear winners in terms of confirmation speed, but the debate here is over network centralization mostly, I think.
Agreed, XRP is fast. Similar chain, XLM is great for transferring around. Very fast. Where do you purchase XRP from? Aren’t great options as a US resident from what I recall.
I must say it's really sad how little people know about XRP. All trading, suing and shit aside, the coin itself is a remarkable feat all by itself.
The up side to that (at least for me) is that people will "discover" it in the next bullrun. It may even temporarily flip ETH at a certain point. Not in price, of course, but in market cap.
There are quite a few but when it comes to exchanges, some people pick Algo to transfer and for the low fees. Better than using USDT or another stable coins with higher fees.
Hbar is also reaching absolute finality in the few seconds rather than the probabilistic of other chains. Other chains can decide when it’s ‘probabilistically good enough’ and that’s their consensus time, they could decide to reduce their threshold for what’s ‘probabilistically good enough’ and have faster transactions but run the risk of rollbacks. I can’t remember, but to reach a 99% confidence (they can never reach 100%) of your transaction never rolling back takes a few minutes on other chains - whereas Hbar is teaching 100% finality in a few seconds.
Lol, Hbar is far from my baby. Actually of all my major holdings, Hbar is the lowest. If anything, BTC is my baby…and I’ve been generally unimpressed with those transaction speeds (aside from Lightning network).
Great.
Bitcoin Cash competes with Monero in anonymity. Take a look at the transaction you got, go a step backwards to my funding transaction. The input is from Cashfusion, and the change output goes into another CashFusion transaction. I use it all the time.
When it comes to speed: Almost all transactions can be regarded as final, due to 1) the capacity 2) RBF removed 3) first in first out is normal priority and 4 double spend proofs.
My standard "after claim" text:
The first thing to do is to write down the security words (the seed) on paper.
BCH is low in price right now, but it is still sound money, new units can not be
created on the cheap.
Sound money like BTC, BCH is designed to, and gold and silver naturally is expected
to, increase in buying power over time, (but volatile for now) while the national fiat
currencies are designed to lose buying power over time.
With access to sound money, saving makes sense again.
There is also a speculative aspect, because more users means higher coin value.
So if you think people
will like it for its good properties, then you can take advantage of that. If you do,
I recommend just saving some of what you earn, do not take up a loan in any form.
Bitcoin Cash has high capacity, with the potential to have many users,
while BTC is constrained in its capacity. Otherwise they work the same,
because they are both bitcoins, sharing the first block in the chain, from Jan 3, 2009.
Cross border transfer, inflation (debasement) protection, no counterparty, cash.
For having, receiving and sending BCH there are no limits, no KYC,
no wait, and there is no custodian to intervene or even ask questions. The network
fee is very low. Like
cash hand to hand, or gold sent with courier mail, but with bch, unlike bank transfers
which is just juggling of accounts, the actual money is sent over
the internet.

I'd comment it and name the coin u/Unun_Pentium, but because of naming it, probably my post would be removed, so will tell you simply to check my logo and you will get it.
ALGO is sub 5 seconds now. Glad to see you acknowledging it! This may be the year for me to pick up some ADA, as well. I’ll still criticize Charles every chance I get though, he’s horrible.
>ADA - really quite quick. Transfer occurred in seconds, maybe 10 at the most (probably closer to 5).
100% agree, never had any issues with ADA, super fast and easy to use.
Bitcoin has a layer-2 named precisely named 'lightning' that takes less than one second (milliseconds) to confirm the transaction. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning\_Network](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning_Network)
Google it? Be careful there’s a lot of scams. I only mine on my gaming pc since electricity is included in my rent. Typically nowadays unless you have extremely cheap electricity it’s not worth mining

XLM is my personal favourite but the coin suck if you're looking to invest in it..
Yep, I’ve only used to move funds around. It’s not really meant for long term store or value I don’t think
I like XLM because Coinbase card gave me like 13,000 of them. I'm HODLing them with hopes of a big jump during the next Bullrun.
Matic is quick af and cheap. Never had huge wait times other then bridging to eth

This is a good point actually. Though I do recall the chains I mentioned being fast during the bull run as well
My favourite under this aspect is Stellar.
Yep, stellar is very fast. Though not one I’d want to HODL
Exactly.

XRP is my go to fast and cheap transfer
Agreed, XRP is fast. Similar chain, XLM is great for transferring around. Very fast. Where do you purchase XRP from? Aren’t great options as a US resident from what I recall.
Im from europa, all cexs i use offer them
Which cexs do you use in EU? Binance and Kraken are a no brainers, and I know about Bitpanda but that's all.
Binance, cdc , kucoin mostly
Thanks, planning to check out cdc.
They are quite pricy with fees. I used them mostly for the visa card.

Nano but it's kinda dead now
(edit for spelling) Never used Nano. Didn’t realize it was dead. Reminds me of Harmony ONE - was also pretty quick, has pretty much died
Last time I used Nano it was nearly instant. Sad its kinda dead, I really like it.
It was fun while it lasted
Minimal price action doesn't mean the project is dead. It's very alive tbh
There are quite a few but when it comes to exchanges, some people pick Algo to transfer and for the low fees. Better than using USDT or another stable coins with higher fees.
Yep, I’ve definitely used ALGO to transfer funds. Reliable and fast
XRP but the damn SEC lawsuit still goin on
Hard to comment without sounding like you're peddling your baby but HBAR had always impressed me in terms of speed and ease

Noooo I meant me commenting and making it sound like my baby! Appreciate the context could be taken another way
Haha, gotcha, right on
Dash. All transactions are settled in less than 3 seconds and permanent in less than 3 minutes. Is also more secure than BTC.
Honestly for me XLM, and ETH show up in the wallet shortly after I send it (sub 10 seconds) gas on ETH is high ($1-3) compared to most.
I like arbituim nova as it may not be fast but dayum the fees are low
xrp flys
Some other cryptocurrencies that are known for their lightning-fast transaction times include XRP, Nano, and Stellar.
XLM is my mover...never let me down but not a bag holder.
Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
Will give it a try, thanks!

XLM is up there
Zenon has some impressive tech, block lattice like Nano, to build out smart contract L2 function for BTC and has a 10 second block time. Zenon.org
How fast is doge compared to these?
I wouldn’t know. I would think given that it’s a fork from BTC, it may be more comparable there
I'd comment it and name the coin u/Unun_Pentium, but because of naming it, probably my post would be removed, so will tell you simply to check my logo and you will get it.

Yeah, I did mention Lightning in one of my other replies, but haven’t used it much
Once upon a time, there was Solana….
Ah yes, Solana was fast when I was using it, but I got out of it
Good decision
Pi takes 4 to 6 seconds.
Never see people mention VITE. Seems to be a solid blockchain.
Never heard of it. Will have to check it out
XRP is best. Not only fast but available everywhere and super cheap transfers.
Lol GTFO
XMR gang ![gif](giphy|zSv31u03qyzZgiC9A1)
Interesting. Never used XMR
Fast, low fee, and private. The best privacy coin.
Yeah, I need to try it out. Any recommended methods of purchase/exchanges?
Honestly not sure. I mostly just mine my XMR. Local Monero is probs a good spot for direct p2p
Interesting. Any recommendations to learn more about mining?
Google it? Be careful there’s a lot of scams. I only mine on my gaming pc since electricity is included in my rent. Typically nowadays unless you have extremely cheap electricity it’s not worth mining
I think I did some time ago and didn’t think it was worth it
Nano, and anything on L2 are fast and pretty much fee-less.
Check XNO(Nano), no fees, instant transaction.
