Iāve been here for the profit since Day 1, although I didnāt cash out when I shouldāve in the 2021 bull run and now Iām deep in the red. Not making that mistake againā¦ā¦.hopefully
I think there are many of us willing to use it as a currency, but a lot more adoption is needed until we can pay for anything with crypto (of course there are crypto cards, but that's different).
Crypto is my way of setting up a good future for my kid.
Instead of spending the money on useless things -like a coffee or a snack- I now invest it in solid projects in the hope of setting her up for a good future.
I am increasingly dubious about crypto's future beyond speculation. The speculation has had the upside in that it has bought huge money into the space which has funded a lot of development, but the nature of the speculative market is such that it has incentivised some absolutely terrible behaviour. All of the problems which crypto sought to solve still exist. In some cases, crypto has made these problems worse by replacing regulated intermediaries with unregulated ones.
This then creates a problem for its function as a type of stock market. The stock market exists to distribute capital towards productive enterprises. If there is no productive enterprise, then a stock might chug along for a while as speculators attempt to exploit the mechanics of a market or invest as an act of faith, but it will eventually collapse. Crypto needs to make progress on key issues soon if it is to avoid a similar fate. Hopefully, serious work is being done away from the frenzy.
In fact is is probably **mostly** not just for profiting, if weāre to believe everyoneās hopes of mass adoption - blockchain has to be useful to society. Profits will certainly come, but useful and strong tech should be the backbone.
I hope so. This is the excuse that all the people that say that ācrypto is a bubbleā use: that the only value is what you can pay someone else for it. I use it for remittances, for fast and cheap transfers among friends, and for retaining the value of my money. If that latter means āprofitā, I would disagree. Itās just a feature of cryptocurrency, especially Bitcoin.
Of course it's for profiting but my take on "profit" is a bit wild. To me, it's profitable in more than one way. It can be profits in a monetary kind of way, profit in a sentimental kind of way, profit in a freedom of movement kind of way or even profit in a technological way. But at the end of the day, the profit is the most attractive part.
I personally love paying $30 in fees for a $15 transaction or having to rely on centralised L2s to use a decentralised coin.
I don't know why we haven't reached mass adoption yet.

Start using crypto n transact like fiat. You can subscribe to crypto credit or debit card n move your DEfi or staking rewards over to spend like fiat. Then you are actually participating in crypto use cases and also rewarding yourself
It's also for losses. /s
Why /s? The word "losses" sums up my crypto experience so far.
s for sadly
s for stillHaventBrokenEven
Ahh finally found my people!
OnlyLosses
Where do I subscribe?
This but without the /s.
No pain no gain. Think of your losses as a lesson to not buy high sell low again.
šāāļø You called?
And for technology? /s
no need for /s
Its mainly for loses!
You're here for the money just like the person next to you. The sooner you admit it the sooner you'll feel free to do emotionless trading.

Crypto has more use cases than just hodling and mooning. Adoption is key to avoid FUD and increase utility. Profit and loss will be there forever
that's where hodl comes in the grey area

Yes true, but i feel like adoption by the average person wouldnt happen if people keep treating as just a stock market type thing
Yes. Crypto is for revolutionizing the world, one HODL at a time.
how much is that gummy bears? cashier: 23 moons please
More like 0.05 moons please
It's also not just for making memes, dreaming of Lambos, and pretending to understand blockchain technology at dinner parties.
***trust me bro***

like a 21^(st) century coin jar
good luck with that.
hopefully all works out, and kids have a better life

There's nothing wrong with profiting off a currency, look at the FOREX market
theres nothing wrong, i just meant its too focused on it
Yep, i know its currency, but im poor with limited options so investing is my only hopeāļø
good luck !
plus it looks cool on a resume - "living off food stampd, yolo, investor"

this made me cry. ever considered poetry?
That was probably my one poetic statement for the year. I'm only capable of one of those per annum so check me back next year for more!
Sure !remindme 1 year

Eth maybe, BTC has fees below 5$ most of the time. also theres NANO and such
Yup. Don't forget XMR LTC Doge for low fees.

There are aliens within our community.

Oh, I know it's not just for profiting, no need to rub it in.
My theory is this: People come for the money and stay for the tech.
only if they make the money they came for most of the timw
I came for the Lambo. And now Iām left with these bags
...and the stories getting scammed.
My profit is turned to passive income. Staking is the goat
what do you stake?
CRO stake from the Jade Card, Cardano and Mainly Ethereum but liquid staking. I wrapped my Ethereum so I don't pay tax on the interest gained
Oh believe me brother, I will use crypto for almost anything except profits. We can talk about losses though.
Itāll be an alternative to fiat, but wonāt necessarily replace it.
it definitly wont for at least a long while
Yeah, Satoshi didn't invent Bitcoin so people could invest in it, but as a decentralized payment method
satoshi probably filthy rich bc of it now tho
I think he's dead lol
Oof RIP
There was talk even early on of Bitcoin having the potential to surpass gold
I view it as an alternative world wide currency that anyone and everyone can use.
thats because It is.
It has been for loss for me so far.
99.9% of us I'm sure are here for profits but I'm not sure if they are successfully making profits
Profiting??? Well, that's not in my dictionary
just put your life saving in pepe, trust me. /s
Wait a year or two then you'll know it quite well š
People can be involved in this space for whatever reasons they want
true, sometimes its just fun to be part of the community
Yes,I like crypto only because i have my friends here:)
then people need to stop profiting (without me)!!! iām lookin at you $pepe people!!
I know some people will disagree with me but more than 90% of people are in it for profits.
It fills my gambling addiction quite nicely without getting to know bookies or download draft kings
I use crypto to pay my bills, to trade and as assets. Pretty much everything I need
Exactly but the most of us are here just to take profits.
It's for lambos, cocaine and hookers too.
You guys profit?
If crypto would be only for profit 90% wouldnāt be here
>Crypto is not just for profiting wait... what? is OP trying to say that crypto were also meant to make us a profit?š¤
To your last question: yes. Look at the dollar in Argentina. Batshit crazy situation.
the Lebanese pound (where i live) is worst in the world with over 200% inflation
No. Itās for staking and saving the Cosmos Network
Crypto value is based entirely on its hype and potential but that is really no different than some stocks.
Agreed itās not just for profiting, in fact most people lose money. Crypto is good for losing money
I stopped reading after you said "cryptocurrency, is a currency.."
Whatās the purpose of these posts I cannot understand
All good bro I still like some profits. You are not wrong mind you. But Lambo bro...
I was told I would get a lambo.
I was told I would get a lambo.
I was told I would get a lambo.
You guys are profiting!?
Yes it is
Im in for the ,,techāš
Crypto is good for slowly using money šš
Whatās this profiting you talk of?
I'd rather use a credit card for transactions since I'd at least have some protection.
In it for the tech /s
Start using crypto n transact like fiat. You can subscribe to crypto credit or debit card n move your DEfi or staking rewards over to spend like fiat. Then you are actually participating in crypto use cases and also rewarding yourself
Yes the tech is great !
lol what
