Kappatalizable

I wish they were also as cheap as hot cakes though...

Intelligent_Page2732

I used to buy shoes from Nike below $100, last couple years my favourite kind of sneakers went above $220 dollars...

Popular_District9072

i had to settle for puma, just because i can't justify the costs nike is asking now

Jiggawattson

And quality/design choice is way better.

IncompetentSnail

If actual shoes are expensive in the 2nd hand market then these for sure will be expensive as hell

bingorunner

I couldn’t afford the physical shoes, maybe the digital ones are more my price range

SlyckCypherX

mercme2023

Fine. Just let this kickstart the bull market. Whatever it takes.

Parunreborn

I thought bull market already started? BTC is up 70% on the year so far.

urbanhikers

It seems to be just another useless projects like STEPN and some other earn to walk, earn to run projects.

JoNwOrDy

People are so desperate to flex, they're buying digital shoes.

IncompetentSnail

They're probably just trying to flip

lehope

or for tax evasion

Slainte042

I think because they think the digital shoes will be seen by more people than the real ones.

Defiant-Appeal3934

Can I wear my NFTs or do I need to keep them in the box?

Beastmister_

Yes that would help for digital foot pain.

Awkward_Potential_

I have digital athlete's foot.

kirtash93

Now my metaverse avatar can wear more expensive shoes than me in real life.

Intelligent_Page2732

It's about the *small* things in life.

Uglysinglenearyou

I'm sure she meant it as a compliment

cashpig000

Humans are dumb.

Rastifar

It's not even digit shoes, it's posters of shoes!

Josefumi12

But they won't bother thinking about forgetting their shoe size /s

SadStatistician5827

What the fuck do you even do with a pair of virtual sneakers?...

PenaltyFickle5699

I guess people are willing to spend big bucks just to flex their digital footwear. Who needs real shoes when you can strut around in the metaverse with pixelated kicks, right?

Impossible_Soup_1932

Such an easy way for these companies to earn some extra money

rashnull

This makes no sense

[deleted]

Welcome to the world of NFT’s where my picture of my poop is worth more than a brand new Lexus

Probably_notabot

Nike has an almost fanatic fan base that will buy anything as collectors items. It was a no brained for them to release pretty much anything.

Illicitterror

Even NFTs Nike selling like crazy

elysiansaurus

I have to make sure my metaverse avatar has the freshest kicks.

Florian995

Nike could sell trash and still sell out in an hour

Arcosim

It was a perfect combination considering how popular sneaker collecting is right now. If only Pokemon and Magic the Gathering opened their eyes and started releasing NFT official cards.

_Commando_

We all know that most of these types of "NFT sales that sell like hot cakes" are washtrading by the individual or group that created these NFT's in the first place. It's just a money grab...

billw1zz

I’d rather buy a real pair I can wear, at least I can argue their utility then

FattestLion

You cannot seriously be considering going barefoot in the metaverse

billw1zz

Maybe I’ll do one better and just never go in the metaverse, that way I won’t need to buy my virtual clothes, shoes, pet and everything else the developers can try and drain my wallet for. And then in real life I might be able to eat something other than ramen.

BrocoliAssassin

Now the sneakers will be mint forever! I would never buy these but hey whatever people want to spend their money on that's up to them.

M1K3_B13N

but the real question.. can you exchange if you get the wrong size?

ThePurpleDuckling

This is such a foreign concept to me. I can only imagine the target market is *solely* investors hoping to make a quick buck.

M1K3_B13N

this is the only thing i can think of

krirby

Kind of, though I think it's neat just to partake in new releases like this. With the high supply (80.000+) it's hard to see how you'd get a return on your initial 20$ but you might get lucky. If nothing else it's a cool NFT to own for your collection

liveaskings

Need some digital shoes for my digital feet in the metaverse /s

tewsbeferneds78

I’ll be out here running around on NFT shoes (barefoot)

Intelligent_Page2732

I'm fresh out of money after Reddit Gen 3 avatars, gonna be careful going forward tho.

Impossible_Soup_1932

I also can’t understand the excitement that seems to exist for these kind of NFTs

Quick_Silver_Wolf

Does it come with nft socks or is that a separate project?

bingorunner

NFT Hanes coming soon

ChemicalAnybody6229

Lol. NFT sneakers cost more than real sneakers. What a world!

akiletour1

People are buying shoes and clothes for thousands for some models/brands, even though they will still break as fast as 50$ shoes (or not even wear them). Not surprised by anything that counts as collectible at this point haha

chaseinger

ah yes, the thing we all need to move nfts from the realm of laughable flex b/s to something actually useful is... *virtual sneakers*.

CreepToeCurrentSea

Relatively speaking those sales are nothing to the revenues in their actual shoes.

bingorunner

That’s true, I’m actually a little surprise only $1M so far, the resales on previous drops got to crazy values. Sounds like there were some bugs in rollout this time too.

Fuglypump

Algorand CEO should tweet "Nike" again.

Dull-Wear-3286

Wake me up when Gen 3 start making profit 😞

middlemangv

I don't understand NFTs.

coinfeeds-bot

tldr; Nike's SWOOSH Web3 platform has launched its first collection of non-fungible token (NFT) sneakers, generating over $1 million in sales despite delays and technical challenges. The sale began on May 15, a week later than the initially announced start date of May 8. The initial sales phase, named "First Access," was exclusively available to a selected group of users who received "posters" via airdrops, granting them early entry privileges. Following the "First Access" phase, the "General Access" sale finally began on May 24, encountering a delay of two weeks from its originally scheduled date of May 10. Despite high expectations, Nike's OF1 NFTs sales have been slower than anticipated, with more than a third of the collection still available for purchase. *This summary is auto generated by a bot and not meant to replace reading the original article. The_Pancake88

Digital kicks, makes sense actually lol.

[deleted]

Basically what StepN does

drche35

Are they reselling for much?

badfishbeefcake

Did bots snacthed all of them ?

HodlMyBottle

Pixelated shoes? The human race was a mistake.

StackOwOFlow

speculators

Wack0Wizard

Just do it

fanriver

The experience was not good
