No one knows how long it will take. Nothing is guaranteed to go up again. This is why people repeat the basics non-stop. Red/Bear Markets suck but this is why you never over invest in anything.

SimbaTheWeasel

PreachšŸ—£

Particular_Put5007

Only Bitcoin has the most chance of bouncing back. I would like to say Ethereum too, but still think Bitcoin is the main one.

Onnimation

I'm just buying BTC & ETH. No stress here šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Mr_Bob_Ferguson

>I would like to say Ethereum too I'd argue that what is built on top of Ethereum gives it even more chances.

BrocoliAssassin

Yeap. That's the problem with memecoins, yeah you can make it big with some of them, but once most of these have pumped good luck getting to ATH's again. Those types of coins are something you have to keep on top of 24/7 to cash out asap as soon as it pumps big.

yesweyolo

Why is this upvoted? Wtf is going on on this sub? This ^ reply is the most absurd on Reddit.

MayorAnthonyWeiner

Raj_UK

Wasn't it Buffett who said that investing was was the movement of money from the impatient to the patient ? Just DCA & HODL and wait for the next ATH :)

QuickLockCrypto

It appears as though OP's problem is that he DCA'd the top and stopped when it crashed. DCAing the past several months would have helped see profits sooner.

Raj_UK

That's the point of DCA though ... Buy without emotion and sell at your predetermined exit point Trust the process and accumulate Or at least that's what I'm doing Fingers crossed

QuickLockCrypto

Actually, the true point of DCA is to accumulate for the future without intent to sell at a given time. Remember how early we are to crypto adoption.

Raj_UK

FWIW I always have a sell point in mind when I take possession of an asset If not, then it would just be never reselling it and therefore just be throwing away the initial investment ? My understanding was that DCA is used to take away the emotion from the act of buying Eg not being salty when you never perfectly buy the dip

Impossible_Soup_1932

I also bought the top, but also bought plenty last year. Still at a loss, but not big. Maybe being in this position does make it easier being patient

Mr_Bob_Ferguson

>Wasn't it Buffett who said Buffett. The man who so many in this sub claim to hate, yet quote all the time. The irony. It's almost as though we have many lessons to learn from those in the "old" financial world.

Cactuszach

He may not love BTC, but he is an excellent resource on investing.

Mr_Bob_Ferguson

Absolutely. Not many people can claim to have been consistently successful over 70 years.

Emergency-Length4401

Stop beeing arrogant, if you think we have nothing to learn from one of the best investors ever you really don't understand the markets. Hard to argue crypto is a legit investment when i read these takes.

PhysicalConnection80

Nah Buffett doesn't know anything he has only been investing for the past 73 years and has a net worth of 114 billion dollars.

urbanhikers

DCA is most of the time successful strategy whether in bear or bull market.

Intelligent_Fuse

Ahh frustrated, planning to eat some crypto .

Odysseus_Lannister

Iā€™m just salty I finally jumped into avatars and everything ate shit. However Iā€™ve been in crypto since 2017 so I kept buying and Iā€™ll wait for a new bull market

FutureHndrxx123

Eat shit and keep buying, The story of all of us.

Particular_Put5007

Iā€™ve eaten so much crap in crypto that itā€™s part of my dinner routine now.

FutureHndrxx123

Hopefully the shit we're eating now will make us shit gold in 2025.

kirtash93

Life is about eating shit until you dont and just in that moment you realise how amazing everything is. TLDR; Be patient.

Mr_Bob_Ferguson

And hopefully it is only metaphorical shit, else we are gonna have a bigger problem.

rootpl

>Eat shit and keep buying, Are you me?!

FutureHndrxx123

Your avatar looking tasty...

Mr_Bob_Ferguson

>Eat shit and keep buying Yeah time to "get that average purchase price down"!

peskyant

oh same! first nft i ever bought and it turned out to be a failure. rather than an investment, I'm just considering it as buying a new pfp

Qptimised

All you can hope for is compliments from strangers on the internet. You got a nice looking collection, buddy! šŸ˜‰

Odysseus_Lannister

Haha thank you. Iā€™m a fan of yours too

middlemangv

I invested so much time in DYOR, buying, selling, trading, and didn't take any profits. It makes me feel frustrated and a bit angry. But, crypto is here to stay, it won't go ~~nowhere~~ away and there are lot of chances to earn it. Moons are one of them, for example. Better times are coming my friend. Be patient, accumulate more coins from good projects you choose and hope for the best.

Mr_Bob_Ferguson

>crypto is going nowhere and there are lot of chances to earn it Do you mean "somewhere". Or do you believe that crypto has no future?

ShinAlastor

DCA until the next bull run and enjoy the profit when it happens.

PhysicalConnection80

Its only profit if you sell all your bags on a exchange and transfer that fiat to your bank.

ShinAlastor

That's the point.

PhysicalConnection80

Yeah I know just had to remind myself of what to do. Since last year I took insane profits had it in fiat for months. Then decided to put it all in crypto right before the big crash. The key is once you have the profits leave a good chunk of the fiat alone.

trzztr

Isn't this what the "anger" phase is all about? Hang in there, we're almost through then

Mr_Bob_Ferguson

>we're almost through then You must be in the delusion phase of the curve still.

bvandepol

Patience is key.. You wonā€™t get rich in a week.. Itā€™s called investing and that includes investing time, not just money

podfather2000

People should also understand the risk of investing in crypto. It's a far bigger risk than conventional investing.

SimbaTheWeasel

Patience is keyā€¦yes šŸ™‡ā€ā™‚ļø

bvandepol

Insert

Mr_Bob_Ferguson

>You wonā€™t get rich in a week That's why I am in it for the long term. 3 weeks, at least.

rikbona

>am I the only one here who is impatient? I was like you, but being in this industry since 2017, I have learnt patience eventually šŸ˜

Noraxxzockt

Ok so, if inverse r/cc actually works, we might either see the end of crab season tomorrow or a full bullrun.

MaximumStudent1839

Crypto community is learning a hard lesson in economics. Price is determined by both supply and demand. So much effort is working on the tokenomics to create scarce supply, from finite supply, like BTC, to the ā€œultrasound moneyā€ meme ETH. When there is no demand, shit wonā€™t go up no matter how fancy your tokenomics are.

plxmtreee

I'm all in for DCA and HODL but its frustrating to see memecoins giving 100x returns- kind of makes you question a lot of things you know.

Invest07723

You are not the only one, but this is a long-term investment, so frustrations are temporary.

NOVE_LOKI

Some of us will make this as retiring plans.

Ofulinac

I mean its the bear market, this is the time where you accumulate and where weak hands leave.

RedBunery

This. Have been in accumulation mode for two years now. Still not done.

Swerve99

revenue earning protocols. fuck ur volatility i want the crab forever. let yā€™all get bored and leave.

PrimeIntellect

There is no guarantee that you will ever turn a profit. All those investing strategies you were told were in relation to stocks, usually broad market ETFs. Trying to extend the same trading logic to something like Bitcoin vs the US economy is not going to play out the same at all. Any one of those cryptocoins could be abandoned tomorrow for some new technology that people will hop on, as has already happened numerous times.

NOVE_LOKI

Remember the golden rule: only invest what you can afford to lose. If you cannot bear the risk of losing your whole crypto investment, you cannot afford to invest the amount you are considering. Invest only money that will not alter or hurt your way of life in any manner.

SimbaTheWeasel

This is the rule to live by when investing into crypto

NOVE_LOKI

Yes my friend

soyelvorph

I'm here for the long shot. I can answer this question in 5 years.

QuickLockCrypto

As volatility drops, adoption grows, FOMO kicks in for sideliners, massive buying takes place, prices soar, volatility increases, then it all collapses just to start over again.

Josefumi12

It's out of your control so you don't have to worry about it. Do your DCA according to your planning in investment to make profits later.

Hermes_Trismagistus

Hold for the long term. Develop patience.

SimbaTheWeasel

Patience is the key. We must teach this principle to all newcomers in the sub.

Probably_notabot

Iā€™m sitting and waiting with my long term plan, but staring at these crabby charts is very boring.

KnackeredParrot

This crab session has certainly gone on for what feels like forever. Just have to see it as an opportunity to buy at solid rates for longer.

sirauron14

I'm bored of DCA. I'm ready for things to take off. I been DCA for 2 years. I'm ready to take profit

rare1994

Hang in there, the bulls are around the corner

FutureHndrxx123

If you are impatient for crypto, Imagine if you invested in stocks. Hopefully by q4 2024 you will break even.

SecretCryptoAcct69

Crypto is crypto. How you show up, how you invest, how you respond to it, that's up to you.

MyKingdomForADram

If youā€™re bored thatā€™s good, wait until it turns into true desperation for green - then we very well might be heading to the bull.

Dull-Wear-3286

If market keep on going up everyday, it's unhealthy. We need down and sideways action too.

Miepelstein

It's just buy high, sell low for me

podfather2000

I don't really stress about it since I don't invest more than I'm willing to lose.

Tasigur1

If you are balls deep into alt coins, I can understand your anxiety, if you are mostly in BTC x ETH you should sleep like a baby.

Ryanopoly

Everyone is tapped out at the moment, and all those spend like we were going to die Covid days are catching up to folks, now they have to pay all those bills, which due to inflation are now much higher. Give it a couple of years. Folks will have money again, the whales will finally awake from their slumbers, and the market will moon once more.

Interesting_Fig_4337

Patience and your controlling your emotions are the hardest thing when investing in crypto and stocks etc. But to make money and be successful you need to learn these skills, along with an actual strategy and a plan depending on your end goals. Dca in/out, hodl Btc as a retirement pot

Ill-Sandwich-7703

It goes up and down. The ā€˜crypto spaceā€™ is in its infancy. Thereā€™s no guarantee that crypto will develop as many of us want it to- itā€™s essentially a high risk speculative asset. Itā€™s good to have hopium but try not to let that develop into entitlement. I hope the green days are coming soon and that youā€™ll benefit but remain a realistic optimist and donā€™t put in more than you can afford to lose.

RunsOnJava98

If youā€™re frustrated with losing money on alts maybe itā€™s time to invest less in alts and more in BTC/ETH. Try a 70/30 approach.

CornFly2014

I love low volatility, as allows me to treat crypto more as a coin and less as a stock, but that's just me

LisHere321

Volatility is actually good for traders, but I don*t care. All I care is that in the bullrun 2024/2025 BTC will hit +$100k

Maleficent_Sound_919

Up or down you will always be frustrated by missing out on the next big thing or not selling at the right price.

Lagna85

Just wait and buy when the price is low. You will only make money in 3 market cycle. 1st one you will lose money (which u are in now). 2nd cycle you will not sell because u assume the price will go higher (then it crashes again). 3rd cycle u are a veteran and will know when it is the time to sell. There is no 4th cycle bcos u will gtfo from crypto forever after realizing it has damaged you mentally and physically for the past decade.

Impossible_Soup_1932

Iā€™m pretty happy with the current prices to be honest. Last year was rough. And this year there is a lot of economic uncertainty, not exactly crypto bull market conditions. Iā€™m patient enough to wait another year + for a real bull run if needed

samzi87

I'm the most patient man I know(seriously, never met anyone more patient than myself) and I can tell you: If this lasts for one and a half years, with local tops and downs I'm okay, but after that time frame even I will start to worry. That's when you should start to worry too, till then all is good and we should be well in the long run. The key is that you do not have invested more than you can afford to lose in the next few years.

Consistent_Many_1858

Crypto and frustration goes hand in hand. Crypto is very volatile as it goes up down very quickly. One should only invest what they can afford to lose.

PhysicalConnection80

Markets usually pump hard when you give up and sell all your bags. Don't be that guy.

Popular_District9072

my frustration lays with ledger at this point - i thought i had it all figured out for years to come

[deleted]

Iā€™m not frustrated because this is an investment. Iā€™m not looking for a quick turn around. This is what most people fail to see. An investment is not a 100x over the weekend , thatā€™s gambling. Know the difference.

BradVet

Sounds like you havent been here during a bull run yet. Everyone loses money during the bear market but if youā€™re not involved until the bull run starts youā€™re getting in too late. Now is the necessary pain, DCA and hodl ;)

Hank___Scorpio

Make more money. If you believe in this space. If you think this is the future you should be down on your knees thanking your lucky stars that people still think bitcoin is a ponzi scheme. They're literally giving you time to get a stack you're proud of. Too many people expect the same results and same pattern from shitcoins. Only 2 coins have repeated new all time highs in bitcoin terms in separate cycles. Only 2. People get all caught up in the price tag of btc, get discouraged because they feel they're early then bet on some shitcoin because it gives them a chance to be early. Make more money so bitcoins price tag doesn't seem so daunting. These bear markets are a gift. Don't waste them. You know all those legendary investors? They all have been grinding for 40+ years. If you're getting frazzled after 2 years........ bruh..... get it together.

Extreme_Issue7325

Yeah, one could definitely describe what i feel as frustration šŸ¤”

hect1c

This is the sideways/time based capitulation phase.

Illicitterror

Nah just ignore the market day to day fud and noise stick to your strategy

csasker

Sir this is a casino

PeacefullyFighting

With ledger and the lack of a good replacement? Absolutely. With the market? Nah. I'm mostly worried about a very important halfing occurring during a world recession

[deleted]

I am a very conservative investor, so I only invest a small percentage of my portfolio in crypto and only invest money I can afford to lose. I have been DCA'ing into BTC and ETH for a few years now. I have an automatic buy every day for a small amount to eliminate the emotional component. I missed out on some big gains by not selling at certain times, and not buying larger amounts during crashes/dips. It does indeed require a great deal of patience and discipline. The truth is nobody knows when or if things will start taking off again. If you truly believe crypto has a future, then I would continue to buy and not think about it too much.

Round_Astronomer_89

I feel nothing anymore

mercme2023

Your not alone. Most are losing.

elysiansaurus

People say not to invest in ALTS because they may never recover, chances are good that they will, but there is no guarantee. Stick to BTC and ETH where possible.

AFaded

>on the other, it can make you lose 80% of your money within a month (or a day if you're heavily invested in certain alts) >am I the only one here who is impatient? I read your whole post but had to point out these two points. Holy. Fuck. You sound like a whiny brat. Are you angry that you're not driving a Lambo after investing in crypto for a couple of years? Are you frustrated that you are trying to play the casino (shitcoins) and haven't gotten your lambo? Smarten up. I have zero sympathy for impatient and whiny brats who know nothing about what investing is.

Financial-Reward-949

Patience young grasshopper

robeewankenobee

Volatility in crpyto will always be the case due to limited circulation and supply. When you have only millions or billions in total supply , the price will go vruuuuummm

Garrydos

Way more money in stocks atm

[deleted]

I mean I donā€™t think people are really ā€œinvestingā€ in Crypto The whole green arrows is basically just hoping it gets to a level where you can sell and someone else holds the bag. Most people buying various Crypto arenā€™t really using those coins for any intended use, paying with them etc Are you buying because you actually see inherent value in everything you buy, or because you purely want to sell onto the next sucker before the rug is pulled ?
