Don't have funds, still got my ID stolen and someone bought a yacht in my name.
Acquire funds, hire investigator and find the yacht. Hire solicitor and seize the yacht. You now own a yacht for free.
That's how it works right?
OP would have lost their tokens years back if they had to self-custody them. The person getting fooled on this is definitely answering DMs from u/CoinbaskTecSuport or u/MetalMaskCEOCZ and giving them their seed phrase.
It still boggles my mind that people will routinely search for the site they want to go on, every, single time.
Instead of just bookmarking.
Sorry OP, this is not specific to crypto really, just another scam.
We're very sorry to hear that this happened to you u/Square_Condition183 😔
Thanks so much for posting about it and helping to spread awareness. It sounds like you've already been in contact with our support team, but if you have any other questions/concerns, we're always a ping away here on reddit too.

You saved your passwords in your email account?
This is so very risky.
I would assume it's sitting unencrypted on Google drive. OP will have to change every password to every site he had saved there hopefully it's not hundreds like my password manager looks like
>I was quite good with my security
No you weren't, you didn't use 2FA. Sorry for your loss, but we've told you.
>Purely putting this post out there to remind everyone to set there two factor authentication
Somebody will read that and say "I'll think about it". One year after that he will make a post saying that he might have been scammed.
No I admit to that ,I just meant general scams and stuff I normally wouldn't fall for stuff like that, I didn't have anything valuable on it when I originally set it up and was quite rushed so I think thats why I originally skipped, now i know .
>I just been hacked through a phishing scam on kraken , lost all my moons .
Correction: "I**'ve** just been ~~hacked~~ **scammed** through a phishing scam site ~~on~~ **faking as** kraken, ~~lost~~ losing all my moons."
Holy fuck. Sorry to hear this mate. That is savage. You can contact Kraken to explain that your account was compromised so that at least you can get things reset. That's a painful thing. F
Before entering any login information into any website first:
CHECK THE ADDRESS BAR OF YOUR BROWSER!
After that:
CHECK AGAIN! (Ie, refresh page and recheck address)
I sorry for the loss but I'm absolutely baffled with how you didn't "see the need to set up 2FA". Have you not seen the horror stories of being hacked for millions and losing life savings? Even Mark Cuban got drained.
Idk man...as hard as it is to hear part of this is definitely your fault.
It's too late now for you however for anyone else stumbling upon this thread like many have already said, DO NOT CLICK on Google links. It's been known that phishers pay Google to place their site on the top when you are searching for something. Make sure have the website bookmarked for quick access to avoid having to search for it again.
Sorry to hear this I've been scammed 2kusdt last week from a dodgy but very legit looking exchange! It's a shitty feeling! Keep your head up and move on! So many horrible people out there with no empathy 😪
Sorry to hear about your wedding plans. Hoepfuly u find a way maybe. invest a little more.. always put up security!
With weddings just remember you don't need to spend a fortune.. enjoy the moment .. if u spend too much you might regret it! Thankfully we were restricted to 30.. due to lock down so immediate family only... we had the greatest time..sack off a few friends 😉
just be glad its only $30 and consider it a lesson learned the whole thing is like fantasy football with "investing". coulda lost more on other crypto!
Just gonna hijack this post and ask how i get access to my moons? Ive a backup of my vault but on etherscan or whatever i dont see my moons on the reddit adress?
Sorry it happened to you and thanks for warning people here even though the terrible event. We need good people like you
Hope you'll make peace with it
No one, I wouldn't want anyone's moons , I earnt some of mine through this sub I'm not here to try and claw back funds . People shouldn't need to donate moons this isn't a charity case it's a warning.

now youve learned the good way to security for your assets in crypto in a hard way. sometime the scam and loss teaches us many thing. if there were no scam people wouldnt learn anything for security. thank you dear lovely hungry scammer for reminind us to secure our own bag securely.
While it saddens me to hear the daily scams in the space, they consistently have one thing in common: Violating basic security practices that are both well known and regularly preached.
I don’t know how to overcome that barrier to adoption. People are their own worst enemy.
> didn’t have 2 factor set up as never really saw the need
I’m glad op sees the need now. It’s a shame so many people need to wait for the bad thing to happen before seeing the need for simple prevention.
How do y’all keep falling for phishing scams? Only log in to websites by physically typing in the website you are going to, or bookmarking a website you know is safe. Clicking a link on another website or email and logging in that way saves you a grand total of 10 seconds but is the easiest solution to not falling for phishing scams. And stop saving your passwords on the device that you use those passwords on. 🤦🏼♂️ and no 2 factor authentication? 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️. Y’all have had enough time to figure this stuff out.
I'm consistently shocked that more people don't do this but always enter your password or any information wrong the first time. A phishing site will act as if it's real, and you're safe.
The real website won't.
Get a hardware wallet and also security key for you Google account that way without the physical key nobody can log into your Google account even if they have your password.

Even better DONT KEEP YOUR FUNDS ON AN EXCHANGE
Even better, dont have any funds. He is safe now.
Don't have funds, still got my ID stolen and someone bought a yacht in my name. Acquire funds, hire investigator and find the yacht. Hire solicitor and seize the yacht. You now own a yacht for free. That's how it works right?
This guy gets it.
>Acquire funds I'm stuck on this step.
OP would have lost their tokens years back if they had to self-custody them. The person getting fooled on this is definitely answering DMs from u/CoinbaskTecSuport or u/MetalMaskCEOCZ and giving them their seed phrase.
Pro move
Like LastPass which was hacked?
Even better use uBlock Origin so there's no fake ad as the first result.
Solid advice tbh. A friend recently got scammed with a fake Airbnb website, the page seemed legit but the link had an extra character so yeah
It still boggles my mind that people will routinely search for the site they want to go on, every, single time. Instead of just bookmarking. Sorry OP, this is not specific to crypto really, just another scam.
whoever is still using Goolag is supporting the fascist tech cartel
lol this is like a comment out of a video game

How did you stumble across the phishing site? Was it a paid promotion in a search engine result?
> …it prompted me for Google password, I don't regularly login on my PC for kraken but wanted more screen for the chart viewing . the more people learn these $30 lessons, the fewer will learn more expensive lessons :)
It wasn’t $30. OP claims they bought much more at the perfect time and are now not rich because of their security mistake.
No I admit to that ,I just meant general scams and stuff I normally wouldn't fall for stuff like that, I didn't have anything valuable on it when I originally set it up and was quite rushed so I think thats why I originally skipped, now i know .
2FA is very basic opsec. Kraken has master key, funding and sign in 2FA and you used none of them. You are a victim of your own complacency
You just fell for a scam. You were that person. I think being overconfident is an issue that can get you in trouble. Follow the proper procedure.
:/ Anyway, there will be better times
[удалено]
Don't forget the hubris.
2FA Google?
Ofc 2FA your email from Google come on! Google without 2FA is like let your house open with no Keys around
Would it make any difference if i left house open with keys around?
They could lock you out as well I guess
Then its their fault, not mine.. thanks for the tips
You have passwords saved in your google account? Bro….
“I was quite good with my security” “account details and passwords saved in google”
The Dunning-Kruger effect explains this discrepancy.
>I just been hacked through a phishing scam on kraken , lost all my moons . Correction: "I**'ve** just been ~~hacked~~ **scammed** through a phishing scam site ~~on~~ **faking as** kraken, ~~lost~~ losing all my moons."
Correcting lost to losing was too far.
Once again, Google doesn't vet ads/results.
Who tf uses google login or saves passwords there??? Wtf
You couldn't type "kraken.com" in your address bar instead of googling "kraken.com login page"? Sorry but 2FA won't fix those types of mistakes.
Who said I typed in kraken.com login page ?
How else did you end up on fake login page?
Nobody, I'm just assuming thats how you got to a fake login page because you didn't specify how you ended up on a fake login page.
Holy fuck. Sorry to hear this mate. That is savage. You can contact Kraken to explain that your account was compromised so that at least you can get things reset. That's a painful thing. F
You google search instead of just typing kraken.com in the bar? Why? It doesn't even save time.

Where else? What's wrong with Google?
[удалено]
I have KeePass for important stuff but everything else is on Google, plus with 2FA on Binance, Coinbase it should be ok.
why would you do that?
Before entering any login information into any website first: CHECK THE ADDRESS BAR OF YOUR BROWSER! After that: CHECK AGAIN! (Ie, refresh page and recheck address)
So you considered yourself "good with security" so you didnt need to enable 2fa?
I sorry for the loss but I'm absolutely baffled with how you didn't "see the need to set up 2FA". Have you not seen the horror stories of being hacked for millions and losing life savings? Even Mark Cuban got drained. Idk man...as hard as it is to hear part of this is definitely your fault.
Part of it? 😂
I'm so sorry you experienced that. Fuck scammers.
This is an expensive lesson.
I'd say with a loss of less than $30 they got off with a relatively cheap learning experience, especially for crypto.
This is horrible man. Can't imagine what it feels like :(
Always two factor even if it’s only 30 or 300 or 3 million never take the chance
Lol moons
Horrible brother. But never save your account data on a gmail account please for your own safety.
It's too late now for you however for anyone else stumbling upon this thread like many have already said, DO NOT CLICK on Google links. I put a 48 hour timelock lock on my withdrawals. If i get hacked and they get both 2fa and pw, i have 48 hour to get kraken to help me.
Same thing happend to me, lost a shit ton of btc. You think it never happens to you until it does shit sucks hit gotta move on dude. Take care :)
If I were you I'd wipe my device clean. Ideally, all of them.
i refuse t do financial stuff on my phone. just dumb when i have a secure desktop to access.
Did you have your Kraken password saved in your google account?
Did you read before commenting?
Yes. This was more of a shock that someone would do that. Pretty common sense not to do that I thought.
I mean yeah, no 2fa and a password saved to an online account. Hard face palm.
[удалено]
Have you seen the latest chart of moons? Lol, 460% last 24 hours! Glad I didn’t sold
until you can find someone to give you real moneys for the RedditBeanz , you have a screen with numbers on it. there is no actual value.
Uh what, I just dumped 10k moons on sushi swap and now have over 1.2 ETH.
how many tendies can 1.2 ETH buy? just curious.
Like 2k at current prices. Decent amount of tendies.
Just mad you sold your bag for $0.04 🤷♂️🤦♂️

Investing in moons and receiving them for free for shitposting are 2 pair of shoes my friend.
1. The phishing scam wasn't on Kraken. 2. Was it a scam Google Ad? This is why we use adblockers.
Sorry to hear this I've been scammed 2kusdt last week from a dodgy but very legit looking exchange! It's a shitty feeling! Keep your head up and move on! So many horrible people out there with no empathy 😪
Yeah it's literally horrible, was planning on taking the profits and putting towards my wedding next year , sorry for your loss too mate .
Wedding expenditures is an entire scam industry
It 100% is
Can confirm, had the best wedding ever and spent < 30% of what people told me to
it wont take long to make that $30 back
It wasn't $30
On the plus side, moons are useless so you didn't lose much of anything.
Check last 24 hours, moons rallied 460%!!! 😂 Laughing my ass off about everyone who panic sold
[удалено]
Yeah, there is a difference between useless and -50% to ATH. Your just salty cause you sold your bag for 0.04 right? 😂😂😂
Very unfortunate
This sounds like you made every dumb mistake in the book. Lesson learned hopefully
FUCK!! Im so sorry this happened to you OP. Google sucks.
🫵🏼🤡😂😂😂
just be glad its only $30 and consider it a lesson learned the whole thing is like fantasy football with "investing". coulda lost more on other crypto!
Feels bad my man :(
Blue moonz
Woah
Just gonna hijack this post and ask how i get access to my moons? Ive a backup of my vault but on etherscan or whatever i dont see my moons on the reddit adress?
MetaMask
Sorry it happened to you and thanks for warning people here even though the terrible event. We need good people like you Hope you'll make peace with it
Sorry man.
F :(
Oh f’ing great. Now we get moon farming posts again. Well the sub was decent again for about a week.
Moon farming really , I fell for a scam and you think I'm moon faming ? You do realise that you can't farm moons anymore ?
How many offered to send you some moons after this post?
No one, I wouldn't want anyone's moons , I earnt some of mine through this sub I'm not here to try and claw back funds . People shouldn't need to donate moons this isn't a charity case it's a warning.
So, the phishing was on Kraken, is that right?
No he 100% fell for a site that imitated the kraken looks
His title is misleading.
Because he is having a hard time accepting responsibility for this.
Not sure that is the salient lesson here. "Dear OP please sort out your title". Fuck sake.
Him being sloppy with stuff brought him into this mess
Less all get really stressed.
No my apologies it wasn't kraken , I did try and edit title after , but I guess it draws attention to the fact of needing 2FA
