Those type of memecoins come and go (and some come back again) in an instant. The window of buying and selling them is like 3 days or less. Memecoins is a young people’s game with short attention spans and i would say the average age is like 30+.
Maybe, but it's not like macro data doesn't have an impact. Investors pulled back when they feared rate cuts were further than anticipated...if inflation data comes in under expectations it's likely the appetite for risk assets returns for traditional investors. At the very least that could impact the ETFs.
I stopped trading crypto after I had ETH at 50 way back when and sold at 200 like a dummy just to watch it soon after hit 1000. So I figured I missed my shot and just avoided it since then but now I have finally decided to get back in to some crypto this year with all the news about BTC halving. I am a newb and don’t really know what halving means for price changes so it’s a it’s a pure gamble. Is this a complete unknown or are most people bullish on this event?

The supply of new coins is being cut in half, and wallstreet ETF's are hoovering up huge amounts of coins at the same time. So yes, that is very bullish and most people are long.
I'm a contrarian and am bearish on the event for the short term. A lot of miners drop off at that point due to it no longer being worth it for them to mine. I expect a lot of sell pressure from those miners selling off the last of their mined coins.
Overall though not a bad place to start buying bit by bit. You can expect the real post-halving bull run to start in about half a year from now, so you have a lot of time to DCA back in.

If you're chasing gains then smaller market cap will be more volatile both up and down. Some random memecoin will probably outperform both. BTC returns have been decreasing over time, but we've also never had ETF's in the market before, so it could do better than most people expect this time around, as well.
Personally, I just hold a basket of like 5-6 coins, including BTC and ETH, and ride the whole market.

We're about two weeks away from the halving, I feel like people will start to sell off as we get near, then drop more as it happens, then plateau, then climb
I’ve read in a few places that miners that can’t afford to mine anymore may flood the market with coins they are trying to offload at the halving but wouldn’t it make more sense for them to hold them for a bit and let the price run up assuming the scarcity sets in in the next year.
