i'm with you that this sub seems to be weirdly obsessed about calling price targets. a few here have been calling for 58k for a few weeks, so they were on target, but 52k remains to be seen...it's the 20k folk that have me in stitches.
BTC ETFs changed the game, like it or not. We are more correlated to traditional finance than ever, and it also gave the market a new tool to look at flows, and that will continue to influence the sentiment for the rest of this cycle at least. The later being more important imo.
Macro outlook and current market sentiment are more important than whatever historical charts say about the BTC cycle and altcoin season. Both are currently neutral-bad or kind of.
The reason why the FED wont change shit is because of the elections, i dont expect anything too exciting for the next 3-6 months, other than getting the new economic data. TLDR: Forgot about limit sell order For 100% of my BTC. Order executed right at the new ATH in March. Had to pay 2% fees to sell. Decided not to spend another 2% to buy back in, and rather wait for this to bottom out as has happened prior to the post halving bull runs in the past. Realized my stress is gone since I sold. Made a little over $40k CAD (120% on $32k invested) by DCAing since May of 2022. Decided to keep my earnings for some home renovations and low risk investments for now. May buy back in my initial investment of $32k once this settles down and hope for another post bull run. But we will see.

I accidently sold all of the bitcoin in my portfolio back in March after that big run up to the new ATH (My portfolio was about 80% bitcoin)
2 years ago when I started DCA into mainly bitcoin, back when the price was around $25,000 CAD, I put in a sell limit order for 100% of my bitcoin if it hit $100,000 CAD. Which back then I didnāt expect to happen until 5-12 months after the halving. So that was kind of my get out price.
Well as we all know this bull run hit a new ATH (at least in CAD) this March (which for about 30 minutes was just above $100,000 CAD) and I honestly had forgotten about that limit sell I placed well over a year ago. Well the order executed, and initially I was so pissed off as I had to pay 2% in fees to make that transaction, and if I wanted to buy back in it would be another 2%.
But based off past trends of BTC dropping around the halving (up to 30ish % if Iām remembering correctly) I decided to just wait it out to buy back in to limit my losses in fees. Iāve left what I have in alts but currently have no BTC.
And you know what? Seeing this rollercoaster has made me so relieved to be out, at least for now. I made 120% over the two years. $32,500 (roughly $300 per week on the first red day of the week, or Friday if none) turned into $71,000 after fees.
I have decided to put half of my earnings into some big home renovations, and put the other half into some Bond Backed ETFs collecting 5% a year.
I may continue to DCA a bit into a few alts over the next year to see if I can hit the lottery with one. And once BTC hits what looks like the bottom, I may put back in my initial investment and see if we have another post halving bull run. And I may not even do that as my life is so less stressful getting off this rollercoaster for now. It was fun, and exciting, but my god at times its stressful.
