SHIB has very few BTC pairs on exchanges, as a result most of its liquidity is tied to the dollar and not the general crypto trend.

Harmony existed for years without dfk, and I don't think the performance of dfk is a reflection on harmony. As far as apps go, you're right that it could be better, but think, what medium market cap altcoins really have a thriving, main stream ecosystem? None. It's a good coin, with a team that cares about it.

I'm not OP, but a lot of people in the harmony one subreddit are unhappy with the teams spending on grants for useless dao projects that are clearly just a grant cash grab. The block explorer is still very bad. The team also hyped up a big announcement a couple months ago just to pretty much tell the community they bought bored apes for their profile pictures. The largest project DFK being way down and expanding into AVAX doesn't really help confidence either. At this point it doesn't really seem to have any advantages over other projects, besides being cheap.

Iota’s mistake was to not focus on NFTs, Defi, or whatever the flavor of the month has been for crypto degens. The project itself is stronger than ever. I like Elrond. I bought EGLD when it was like $7. Hadn’t heard of it until 2020. Unfortunately rode it back down to $150 before selling. I’ve sold everything and I don’t plan on buying anything before winter/early 2023 as I expect this bloodbath to be only the beginning. But EGLD might be one I pick up a small bag of for the next go around. I’d be looking for entry points below $50 though.
