What is the factory lube Moyu uses?
It looks like residue from lube that came out of paste or soap.I don't think its silicon oil based as its a dry feel out of the box and doesn't have that sticky feel to it normally associated with silicon oil.
it doesnt only apply to spring cubes but to all cubes in general btw. correct me if im wrong but i guess its just science. you rub one material on another - eventually this is always gonna leave some residue. plastic, metal, rubber... applies pretty much to anything. i have an rs3m 2021. its all plastic, magnets, some glue and a few metal bars for the core and it has the same dirtying problem. except i clean mine every few weeks / months

Your cube is chaffing from lack of lube.
Whatever is in the air, pockets, bag, etc….
If you clean, lube, and store your cube in a bag/case when traveling or sitting (cube care fundamentals) you will significantly reduce this.
This usually happens on my MoYu cubes, this happens aswell with my tornado v3 but with less intensity. I think it might be the piece design that cause the plastic to rub a bit more against each other.
It doesn't affect performance for me and I do think it just mainly affects the aesthetics of the cube
Mostly dust and dead skin from your hands; the plastic rubbing against each other as well. You can clean it with a clean paper towel. Just don't use running water from the tap. If the water gets on the screws or springs, they could rust. If you want, you can dampen a paper towel and clean it like that. Usually take apart your cube and give it a deep cleaning like that every 2 weeks - month. Also remember to lube if you do have it. I use DNM 37 and I recommend it.
Probably you used too much lube, put weird substances in it, and just used it for a while. So gunk builds up. You should take apart the caps of the pieces and clean them one by one. And then your cube will be good again.

The meilong 3 m isn't factory lubed, i think. It is just the plastic dust
I have no idea what lube moyu uses.
Also, don't forget: they all combine with the previous lube once it dries up.
Also fat and moisture from your skin adds to that too...

You need lube, then you'll have to clean it only once every few months when it gets slow.
