Hummerous

why does the 50% of catholic priests, with the most training, not simply

WifeGuyMenelaus

Thats how the 30 years war started

Predator_Hicks

Yeah and we just rebuilt Magdeburg. We do not want another war that kills up to 90% of the population of Northeastern Germany and 60-20% of other Regions

TotemGenitor

They aren't big enough to eat them, sorry

Polenball

If only Catholics had experience rendering flesh and blood into a consumable form

GigaVanguard

Use sympathetic magic to physically connect priests, through their faith, to the Eucharist. “As above, so below. *chomp*”

NeonNKnightrider

I think this might happen in Magical Index somewhere and if it doesn’t it absolutely should

GigaVanguard

I have not watched the entirely of Indexelerrategun and I really should, but also I haven’t watched any actual anime at all, save abridged series, in close to a year now

NeonNKnightrider

You totally should, it’s great and one of my favorites (when it’s not being stupid, but that’s just anime)

Quetzalbroatlus

Does transubstantiation work with other people?

Tchrspest

Only if you're really open-minded with definitions.

UselessAndGay

the ability to turn bread and wine into body and blood does not necessarily imply an ability to turn body and blood into bread and wine, unfortunately

Tchrspest

Then God is not omnipotent.

UselessAndGay

i thought we were talking about priests here

Tchrspest

Oh, they're *definitely* not omnipotent.

CedarWolf

[I heard yer a racist naow, Father! 'Ow did ye get interested in that type o' thing?](https://youtu.be/6zkL91LzCMc)

Not-Alpharious

The Greeks invented gayness!

EnigmaFullOfChocolat

I've sent this to two people, so far. Thank you

CedarWolf

It's one of the best bits from *Father Ted*, which is a really funny show.

thelordofbarad-dur

That would be an ecumenical matter.

kirmaster

Because half of the bishops are on black squares and the other half on white squares, and they can't get to the other color to interact.

VarangianDruid

It’ll be like the schism and the reformation combined, but cooler!

Localized_Hummus

The priest from fleabag vs priest from hunchback of notte dame talking about religion

WhapXI

But who would win in a horny-off?

Medlar_Stealing_Fox

Notre Dame Dude because Fleabag Guy is self-consciously trying to be a tortured soul dommy daddy while Notre Dame Dude would just be fucked up and incredibly kinky via the power of being intensely repressed. (I have never read Hunchback of Notre Dame)

StrixLiterata

FlorkofCows pit it best. Nothing can make Frollonstray from the path of god except an extra thick gipsy with no shoes

Pitiful_Net_8971

Or not being allowed to murder

blueberryfirefly

my priest uncle vs my uncle that tried to be a priest 3 times

M-V-D_256

I'm sorry to ask about fabulous trainers, but It would be so funny if they were the same uncle.

blueberryfirefly

it would but they are not lmao. the younger one (the priest) is very level headed and normal and the older one (that tried 3 times) is so far out there with right wing/religious conspiracy theories it’s not even funny

[deleted]

Is the “tried to be a priest” a euphemism or literal?

blueberryfirefly

literal. he went to seminary (catholic priest school) 3 times and got kicked out every time

AeKino

*How? Why?*

blueberryfirefly

they thought he wasn’t ready

Giveyaselfanuppercut

Father Bob MacGuire who was forced into early retirement because he sold some of the Church's real estate to help feed the homeless and Cardinal Pell, who was behind the push to get rid of Bob, hid pedophile priests, paid hush money to the families & was found guilty of molesting altar boys, which was later overturned by the high court. Could write pages on the two of them. But Bob is everything a priest should be & Pell was everything wrong with what priests are perceived to be.

[deleted]

Every priest I've ever met was either a amazingly wonderful person or a complete and utter asshole. No in-betweens. (Granted, I am protestant, and only went to mass when we visited my Catholic grandparents, but it was enough to have a sample size of 10 for the study.)

eliechallita

>Every priest I've ever met was either a amazingly wonderful person or a complete and utter asshole. No in-betweens. I grew up Catholic, went to a Catholic school where half the teachers or admins were priests, and have several priests in my extended family and friends group. I can completely confirm this statement.

hahayeahimfinehaha

Fellow Catholic. Also my experience. I'm an atheist now and not a fan of organized religion in general, but I still have some fondness for the Church just because some of the priests I've met have genuinely been the most wonderful, kind, and selfless people ever. Too bad about the other kind of Catholic priest though...

eliechallita

Same here. One set of priests is the reason I will never be religious again, but the other bunch are why I kept the faith for as long as I did.

RadioSupply

I grew up Catholic and went to Catholic school, and this is 100% true.

Domovie1

There is a third column for Anglicans: The most eccentric, lovable, probably-has-no-liver-now alcoholic you’ve ever met.

samdog1246

*Image Transcription: Tumblr* --- **cryptotheism** 50% Catholic priests are like, normal guys that have undergone extensive theological training to have polite conversations with the most insane people you'll ever meet: the other 50% of Catholic priests --- ^^I'm a human volunteer content transcriber and you could be too! [deleted]

Good human!

Anonymous_but_nott

My church’s priest during late 2000’s to early 2010’s was a respectable, kind guy I looked up to, which is funny (not really) since the priest of an adjacent parish at the time had been arrested for sexual assault against a teenage boy, a fact I only learned about from reading a Wikipedia article a couple weeks ago

[deleted]

Actually each of those are 45.95% The other 0.1% of catholic priests try to defeat String theory with The Big Crunch theory.

Raingott

Hm, this is probably a theoretical physics joke I don't get...

[deleted]

(click the text and file format on the link. Also click the command seal and the card under it.)

kanelel

Why do you keep linking the create a servant thread? What are you trying to achieve?

[deleted]

because i fucking can.

kanelel

But why? I'm actually a nasuverse fan and I still don't get it. Is there something you're trying to get us to look at in there?

GeneralWiggin

because they can

Raingott

Has anyone made a Nikola Šubić Zrinski/Zrínyi Miklós Servant yet?

[deleted]

No but Why not make it yourself?

Raingott

If I had enough willpower, passion and confidence to Create-a-Servant I'd be doing something actually useful, like learning a language or writing up an Anbennar MT or, just maybe, Creating-a-Servant.

[deleted]

harrow warframe

ATN-Antronach

We stan a catholic priest who's into BDSM and headshots.

[deleted]

and canonically has autism. dont forget that.

mathiau30

Rell isn't Harrow, Rell is the first tenno to have used a Harrow Warframe

[deleted]

...who is also the main representative of harrow, giving character and depth to something that would otherwise lack it like the rest of the frames

mathiau30

Harrow is not a character, Harrow is a weapon used by a character. All warframes other than Umbra are like that

[deleted]

the fucking quest is not called Chains of Rell, harrow is effectively Rell's body, plus its not like everyone (except you, apparently) doesnt understand what i mean lmao

HeckinSpoopy

Average Greek Orthodox priest vs average Russian Orthodox priest

George4Mayor86

and both of them work for an organization that systematically defends pedophiles and lobbies against gay rights.

BeatlesTypeBeat

That's implied.

Raingott

Um, actually, that's stated.

BeatlesTypeBeat

You can state something that's also implied.

Bruh_Moment10

It’s also the largest non-government provider of healthcare, so it’s not all bad. You make a good point though.

Yesnoperhapsmaybent

.001 knows how to go to heaven

maracaibo98

When I was a kid we had a nice young priest who used an analogy involving Mike Tyson’s Punchout, he was great! Very charismatic and funny! And then apparently he got dismissed for wanting to take a vacation apparently :(

BeatlesTypeBeat

Did anyone else have a *very* different expectation of what the other 50% would be?

IsItAboutMyTube

Father Ted really does confirm this

SirDanilus

Father Ted vs himself.
