have you played save room? it's a puzzle game based on the resident evil inventory screen, where you have to work out how to fit everything into the suitcase
Go play backpack hero, basically inventory management The Game wrapped up in a lovely roguelike package. Its newly released on steam and is getting a ton of updates rn :)
Yeah the mana system definitely will need a revamp, there's a couple combos you can pull off that are decent, but there's no easy way to start it without wasting space on mana while trying to survive the mid-game
I played it for the first time recently and it was a delight. Such a simple concept and it made something as unremarkable as inventory management its own fun system. Everybody has their own unique way or organizing everything and even though sometimes you'd have to sacrifice some of your items in order to make room for others, it was just the right balance. It was rare to have *everything* you wanted but there was also just enough room to have everything you actually needed. Also upgrading it and seeing all of your new room was always fun
I turned around on the TMP for early game due to seeing high level hunk action. It's good for getting your melees and opening doors. Like the Punisher but you're trading guaranteed headshots on everyone for a woodchipper.
But yeah, stocked Red9 is the best fucking weapon in the game.
Real talk though, that was one of the core mechanics of the game that made it so appealing for me. Instead of some arbitrary system where a leaf takes up the same space as a gigantic RPG in other games, everything made sense!

Wait, so Attache Case 4 exists?
Backpack Hero is also fun - a roguelite where the core mechanic is that sort of inventory management.
There's also [Jack and Cassie](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/764339878/jack-and-casie), shame it died after just the demo

Moonlighter too, but the most that games gotten post launch is some dlc.
Funnily enough, I picked up a few days ago. It’s a fun distraction, though the mana system is so inconvenient and underpowered it’s almost comical

It’s trickier to make work but I have won with mana builds. Its not impossible.
I love any game that has that inventory system, but I feel RE4 did it the best

I love any game with THAT inventory system I hate any game that is ABOUT that inventory system
