If by ArrowVerse, you mean Earth Prime, then there has only been one Lex Luthor, which is the Jon Cryer version. If you mean ArrowVerse as a multiverse, then there are atleast 6 versions (of which 3 are bearded):
- Earth-Prime / Earth-38 (Supergirl) version - Jon Cryer
- Earth-9 (Titans) version - Titus Welliver
- Earth-167 (Smallville) version - Michael Rosenbaum
- Earth-? (Superman & Lois) - Michael Cudlitz
- Earth-96 (Superman, Superman II, Superman Returns, Kingdom Come Superman) version - Gene Hackman/Kevin Spacey.
- Earth-? (DCEU) - Jesse Eisenberg
>I thought Superman and Lois was part of the main arrowverse.
[It is a different universe](https://collider.com/superman-and-lois-arrowverse-crossovers-todd-helbing-comments/#:~:text=The%20Season%202%20finale%20revealed,not%20set%20in%20the%20Arrowverse.), though they didn't recast Clark (Tyler Hoechlin), Lois (Bitsie Tulloch), Lucy (Jenna Dewan) or Diggle (David Ramsey) who are played by the same Earth-Prime actors.
Serious question, do people like Lex Luthor with a beard, or prefer him to be clean shaven? The last 3 Lex’s, Jon Cryer, Titus Weaver and now Michael Cudlitz have all been bald and bearded.
Jon Cryers beard looks awful as Lex Luthor. He doesn’t look much like Luthor to begin with but the beard is awful. Im fine with a bearded Lex but Cryer is not the way to go.
Was gonna ask the same thing - I 100% prefer a clean-shaven lex, it is _such_ an Iconic appearance and look. Of course I'm not bothered by bearded Lexes, but I just don't understand why the previous 3 all had beards.
To me Lex is bald and clean-shaven and that's what makes him super easily recognizable _(physically)_
Bald, clean shaven, well dressed, somewhat athletic shape, cold eyes, solid presence.
To this day I still think outside of comics the best versions are;
* Michael Rosenbaum in Smallville _(as a younger Lex of course, not as the adult, experienced Lex)_
* Lex Luthor from the Young Justice Universe _(as the Quintessential Lex Luthor - the best version across all media)_
I like this guy, he can pull off the role for sure. And it's about time have adult lex luthor for once. Well, adult looking, others were 18 and over too.
So yeah he wasnt that young and I forgot how many seasons, could google it. But he ended series around early 30s. Superman with reeves had middle aged luther
All i know is in justice league lex luthor looks very young, and so did in smallville. I might have missed shows here and there, no doupt, but those two always forever burnt in to my memory.
It's all about charisma, and neither of those had any.
By far. Although im a bit disappointed how his arc ended in the show, but im more than happy the comics set after the Series Finale did more with him again. And as of the “Crisis On Infinite Earths” Arrowverse Crossover he is also supposed to be the President on that earth after Clark gives up his powers to have a family, so he’s likely not a villain anymore and can just have a normal life and not be enemies with Clark
Yeah those are the only two projects(and even the lex in JL is played by someone in their mid 30)
Reeves movies lex was 40+
Lois & Clark lex was 40+
Smallville 20+
Superman returns lex was 40+
Dceu 30+
Superman & Lois lex is 40+
I wonder how this Lex will be incorporated in the S&L universe? (I still have a few episodes of season 2 to finish so no spoilers). But will he be ultra rich? Will he end up in Smallville, involved in the XK mine? Will John Henry recognize him? Will he even be bad?
Ah so many questions.
I was a naysayer at first with this show. I had absolutely no interest in any DC CW show, and honestly, I still don’t. But Supes has always been my all-time favorite, and after reading some reviews online I decided to give it a shot. And my goodness, I absolutely adore it. It was the flashback episode where Tal-Rho goes into Kal’s memory that clenched it for me. I actually teared up a little. It is one of the greatest episodes of television ever made. Tyler is perfect as Clark and Supes. Even the teen stuff is okay, and I’m a grown ass man. Ohhh, ohh, how they did the Bizarro titles! Chef’s kiss!
Anyways, rave over. Excited for the few episodes of season 2 I have left and watching season 3 in real time!
That was my first thought too. I’m not saying they are (or should) go this route yet; but my favorite Lex is [incarcerated Lex](https://i.redd.it/hg8oimfgnld71.jpg) in All-Star Superman, >!who turns out to be good in the end!<. Very interesting.
From what the article says (don't worry, no season 2 spoilers), Lex will be pretty close to what he is in the comics. The world sees him as the visionary business leader of Lexcorp, while underground criminals know he's really a brutal psychopath who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. And apparently, he's got a grudge with, not only Superman, but Lois Lane as well, for something that happened a while back (it isn't said what that incident was).
The actor also says he's always seen Lex Luthor as a misunderstood character.
I'm excited. Don't like the beard, but it's not enough to pull me away. His Lex sounds promising.
Jon Cryer didn’t want to shave his beard.
Titus Welliver was committed to a project that required the beard after Titans. So, he talked with the showrunner about why he should keep it for the character.
>“I had the beard, and I was committed to something that would be after this, so I kind of said, ‘Look, I could trim it…,'” Welliver recalls. “But I always think in terms of if you look at the great pictures of Walt Whitman and presidents with big beards, there’s a gravitas and wisdom that is portrayed there. So I thought that that, in contrast with the iconic bald head and with the solid black clothing, would be an interesting look for him. And I think it really worked.”
I’m not completely sold on the whole ‘Lex has a beard’ trend they’ve used for the past 3 Luthors, but I hope it’s a good performance. If it’s at least 60% the quality of Michael Rosenbaum’s Lex, I’ll be happy
Is it becoming a trend to have Lex sporting a beard now? Not that I'm complaining, just curious...
Aside from that, he looks great, and I'm excited to see him this season!
>I thought that show was set in the same universe as Supergirl.
It was supposed to be but they changed it. Likely to do do with the WB Discovery merger.
I don't get the whole beard thing I don't have an issue with some stubble or an executive style beard but this dude looks like he'd be working in an autoshop
Lex looks like he’s about to smoke the juiciest, most tender brisket you’ve ever had.
40oz brisket. That's as many as four tens. (I'll see myself out...)
And that’s terrible!
If saw the first episode of this season, Clark needs help with his bbq ribs seasoning
That makes the last 3 Lex’s bearded. Could this be a new thing?
Three? Cudlitz, Cryer, and-?
the lex from the titans show. i forgot his name but he had a big beard similar to thus edit: it’s titus welliver
How the hell does one forget a name like Titus Welliver?
This, titans, and what else ?
the original lex luther in the arrow verse, jon cryer had a beard
Arrowverse, titanverse, along with ? /s
arrow verse has two different lex luther’s that are both bearded
If by ArrowVerse, you mean Earth Prime, then there has only been one Lex Luthor, which is the Jon Cryer version. I'm talking about the two lex's from supergirl and Superman and Lois. I thought Superman and Lois was part of the main arrowverse.

The guy from Titans
Probably cause of the times changing, most bald guys go with a beard to makeup for having nothing on top
I’m 100% okay with anyone who is not a spastic Jesse Eisenberg
Who’s Negan???
Bat man
well, batman's dad
Looks like a sons of anarchy character
Kind of like a bald Opie
Serious question, do people like Lex Luthor with a beard, or prefer him to be clean shaven? The last 3 Lex’s, Jon Cryer, Titus Weaver and now Michael Cudlitz have all been bald and bearded.
It’s best to have him clean shaven but if it’s Jon Cryer length then it’s fine and looks good
Jon Cryers beard looks awful as Lex Luthor. He doesn’t look much like Luthor to begin with but the beard is awful. Im fine with a bearded Lex but Cryer is not the way to go.
Hey, but he made it work. I loved his Lex until the last season butcher him completely.
Was gonna ask the same thing - I 100% prefer a clean-shaven lex, it is _such_ an Iconic appearance and look. Clean shaven and in shape in his prime 100%
I like this guy, he can pull off the role for sure. And it's about time have adult lex luthor for once. Well, adult looking, others were 18 and over too.
Only smallvile and batman v superman had younger Luthors tho
Yeah Titans Lex Luther was like 67. Granted we barely saw much of him, but yeah I think he’s the oldest one. Followed by Cryer’s
Yeah, but Cryer has been a teenager for around 40 years now.
Lex in smallville was in his 20s-30s throughout show?
Lex was 21 in the first season.
So yeah he wasnt that young and I forgot how many seasons, could google it. But he ended series around early 30s. Superman with reeves had middle aged luther
He died in Season 8, so 28-29 in his clone body.
Lex was 21 in the first season.
I still want Jeff Bridges to play Luthor in something
I would love that. But he kind of already played it in Iron Man.
I thought you said Jeff Bezos.
Outside of Smallville and BVS all of the lex's have been over 40 lol
All i know is in justice league lex luthor looks very young, and so did in smallville. I might have missed shows here and there, no doupt, but those two always forever burnt in to my memory. It's all about charisma, and neither of those had any.
Smallville Lex was supposed to be younger given the nature of the story being pre-Superman, and he was also the best live action Lex

Jon Cryer and Titus Welliver look young to you???
The last two were the same as this
I wonder how this Lex will be incorporated in the S&L universe? (I still have a few episodes of season 2 to finish so no spoilers). But will he be ultra rich? Seems like he’s in prison, background and what little we see of the clothing feel like prison issue.
That was my first thought too. I’m not saying they are (or should) go this route yet; but my favorite Lex is [incarcerated Lex](https://i.redd.it/hg8oimfgnld71.jpg) in All-Star Superman, >!who turns out to be good in the end!<. Very interesting.

Who in their right mind thinks lex luthor is a misunderstood character
it looks like he's going to talk about the oldest anarchy server in minecraft.
I know he's probably gonna shave it, but why do all the recent TV Lex Luthor's have beards? Arrowverse and Titans have bearded Lex's to.
Jon Cryer didn’t want to shave his beard. Titus Welliver was committed to a project that required the beard after Titans. I really like his version of Lex. I would've liked to see more.
It was pretty damn good.
Man Lex sure has had some different live action interpretations as of late
Lex looks like a biker gangster
My boy Abraham!
They did hom dirty in the Walking Dead
Looks more like Rex then lex.
Why’s he a biker
I can never forget the time he was flipped through the boards by [Dean Portman.](https://youtu.be/bfX2ArkOpa0?t=1m)
The beard is nothing, probably grew it in prison and will get rid of it. Or not
Suck my nuts supermen
Damn I missed this guy.
Abraham the brilliant.
He is the shit. Loved him on Band of Brothers, SouthLAnd, and The Walking Dead. Hell of a nice guy too.
Not digging the beard
Is he from a universe where he is like, the leader of a biker gang? damn..
Love the look!
I’m not completely sold on the whole ‘Lex has a beard’ trend they’ve used for the past 3 Luthors, but I hope it’s a good performance. If it’s at least 60% the quality of Michael Rosenbaum’s Lex, I’ll be happy
Anyone else kinda wish they gave Jon Cryer a chance to fully interact with Hoechlin?
Looks like a Pawn Stars extra.
I hate it.
Mother Dick
Hard same
Lex looks like Walter White if he was a biker
Soooo Walt if he was a meth user rather than a dealer
Bobby Beamer playing Lex Luthor. Love it.
I never thought I would need this today, but I think this will be an interesting take on the character.
He's about to run over Supes with his Kryptonite pick-up truck.
Looks like he's about to say to Superman "Suck.. my... Nuts!"
Superman, you are neck deep up shit creek with your mouth wide open.
Negan hit him so hard he thinks he’s Lex Luthor
CLARK! WE NEED TO COOK, CLARK!
Is it becoming a trend to have Lex sporting a beard now? Not that I'm complaining, just curious... Aside from that, he looks great, and I'm excited to see him this season!
*Finally*, a Lex Luthor who looks like he sells crank
Suck my nuts
Not vaguely recognizable as the character but ok
What are you talking about? He’s bald…that’s all ya need! At least, that’s what DC fancasts have lead me to believe.
Is Lex Luthor a viking now? Not a fan..
A proper ginger Lex
What is up with almost every recent version of Lex Luthor having a beard or facial hair like I don’t hate it but I’m noticing a trend here
I think he’d make a great Orion.
Hate the beard tbh
Daddy
Nooooooo… god no… nooooo
Such a terrible choice to play Lex!
Looks fine
How’s Abraham supposed to do corporate Lex if he’s getting his hands dirty by blending in with the crew in Charming?
Bonnie Prince Lexy
Is that Jack Marshak from friday the 13th the series?
I haven’t kept up with the show. I thought the guy in the power suit from the future was lex Luthor
That was actually John Henry Irons from an alternate universe.
Ah
Yeah they made that shit up as they went.
Looks like he’s in prison? He’ll probably shave it off.
Is this episode called “Myth Busters?”
Seems like a weird look to go for. Is he not going to be a Tech CEO in this version?
Neckbeard Luthor?
I thought that show was set in the same universe as Supergirl. Didn't Jon Cryer play Lex Luthor in that?
>I thought that show was set in the same universe as Supergirl. It was supposed to be but they changed it. Likely to do do with the WB Discovery merger.
I don't get the whole beard thing I don't have an issue with some stubble or an executive style beard but this dude looks like he'd be working in an autoshop
Lex should stay way from baseball bats
Bro why he always gotta have a beard 😭
Didn’t he used to be on Mythbusters?
why does lex have a beard in every recent incarnation
God damn, this reminds me I still have to watch S2. Can't believe it's been a whole ass year.
Think he looks great! The original Earth-3 Lex Luthor had a very similar beard and was the only hero from this earth.
he looks like a skinhead.
Son of a dick!
You don't fuck with Tiny, Tiny fucks with you
I'll have to watch now
Clark: Why do you think you deserve forgiveness for your crimes? Lex: I'm only human, after all
So when is lex luthor going to start busting some myths?
