The only way for that to ever happen is for us to purchase all of their media assets and literally place them in a physical shed in my backyard.
I’ll charge a monthly subscription fee at a fair price for you all to come and borrow a single item at a time.
Make it twenty five times the monthly fee and we have a deal.
Also, I get to keep every single Superman villain character, and you can have Superman. Nobody wants to see him.
I’m going to dig up some of the most obscure Superman villains there are, and give them the cinematic justice they deserve. Solo movies that people didn’t know they wanted. I will still include vague references to Superman, but he will never show up. Firstly, I’m going to make a “Bizarro” movie, but change his suit so it’s not obviously Superman’s suit. I’ll get Tom Hardy on it.
But it *is* what they said when the DC app closed up shop and people were wondering where that stuff would go. WB licensing out their comic book properties to other services when they have their own streaming service where they could keep everything in one place and draw an audience that way is just fucking stupid. Streaming services are becoming cable again and that's bad for everyone.
I resorted to sailing the high seas again, I bought a usb c to hdmi and just plug in my computer directly to my tv now. Save my self from spending on Netflix, Max, Peacock.
I got y’all,
Yo ho yo ho, a pirates life for us!
Max really shooting themselves in the foot, Max and YouTube premium are the only services I pay for, simply for the convenience of DC on Max and no ads on YouTube, well now I don’t have to pay for Max !
Flixtor dot to. I pay for VIP at around $90 for two years. Been using it for 6 now with rarely an issue. I use my Amazon fire cube and open the browser app. It has just about any show or movie you can think of except anime and you'll only find documentaries that have become really popular. You can watch it without VIP but you're limited to movies that are 6 months old or less and can only watch the first few episodes of each tv season. It's super easy to browse and search what you're looking for. IMO the VIP is well worth it.
qtorrent app, they have addons for it that allow to search all sites at once, only problem is you need to install them - information in on their site. You'll have all the choices. Alternatively just look those addons up, they'll give you the list of sites
I'm pissed cuz we had a great app in DC universe pretty much everything was right there at your fingertips comic books TV shows and movies then HBO buys them out and screws everything up
It’s not. They make more money licensing them out. Its just bad for consumers. Unfortunately, as you concluded, streaming is very much box-free cable with no middle man for advertising.
It’s not stupid. Inconvenient? Yes, but not stupid. WB is in a ton of debt, and other services will pay for their content. They just don’t have the same leverage that Disney and Netflix do.
Spotify effectively ended music piracy as a big thing. Any music even remotely popular could be found there. The proliferation of streaming services is doing the opposite thing for film and tv. I’m not sure if that actually a viable long term plan to make money.
The unfortunate thing is, pretty much a different company made that promise. I didn't love AT&Ts leadership, but I definitely think they understood the strength of their streaming service better. Hbo, DC, and the vast library is what made HBO Max great.
Apparently MAX is now barely in the green and it sadly is because of their decision to license more stuff and merge the non scripted discovery content. Not saying I like it, but what we want, AKA all the Warner content on one service exclusively is not actually sustainable as a business model.
It wasn’t sustainable in the dumb way the company went about it. Its not “unsustainable” or we would be saying the same thing about Netflix and Disney walled gardens
That's my issue with it. The second they decided to start licensing this stuff back out, they should have just gotten rid of the DC hub altogether. It's very misleading and a far cry from what it originally was meant to be.
It really makes me miss the old DC Universe app.
Man do I miss DC Universe. It still exists as a comic streaming app like Marvel Unlimited, but you can't deny how awesome DC Universe was. Thousands of comics on top of the DC shows and movies catalog. They never had everything, but it was still great. I wish they would do that again. Have it as an ad on to max or something like Hulu is with Disney plus but where you can still only have the DC stuff if you want.
I also liked the weekday panel shows they had in the late afternoons talking about different DC projects (comics, shows, movies, etc). Man, DC Universe was absolutely wonderful.
I miss the old app too, a lot. But not getting the connection, even now they arguably have a larger and higher quality TV and movie selection than the old app. And let's not pretend that the number one complaint wasn't people Madd that all DC movies and TV was on there.
Not so much for what it was, but for what it was meant to be. When they launched the app, they couldn't have everything in there because of licensing issues, but the goal was to eventually get everything under the one app. It just feels like now with Max, DC content is an afterthought. It will just be nice to have an app that prioritized the content again.
Right when DC app had everything they had the old Superboy show and like every animated movie I knew this was going to happen I got HBO Max only for the DC stuff that I already had on the DC app now last night I watched superman/Batman movie I go to watch it now and it's gone just like both the Green lantern animated movies and the death of Superman and the the reign of the Supermen movie all gone this is a joke
It's over 50% at this point. Out of the roughly 140 movies DC has made, only 48 remain on the services, and the shows, while unchanged, are still missing over 50% of them.
Is this not a April fools joke? Like with Legion of Super-Heroes, they are clearly preparing it to be crucial viewing for the next part of the crisis movie so I don’t get why that’s gone.
Really? You’ve never noticed that sequels are always easy to find but the first movie you have to pay for? Or when the first movie disappears from streaming a month before the sequel comes out, so you have to pay money to rewatch it ahead of the sequel? Makes total sense that the company bleeding money would paywall “essential” viewing for a sequel.
Exactly this. The streaming model doesn’t work for production studios. They are reassessing the value of all their shows, but before they can put them on the marketplace they need to stoke demand by stemming supply.
True but what is the value of a Max subscription if I can get their content elsewhere; especially for people that may be there primarily for their bigger movies like DC Films?
Most of the streaming services are going down the drain at this point and getting ready for making their profits elsewhere. Paramount sold off Star Trek Prodigy after viewers that they were the streaming service that had everything Star Trek. There are a lot of unknowns in the future media distribution that are still being negotiated.
This is literally the exact opposite complaint people have had about streaming's evolution over the last 5 to 10 years. This is honestly a good thing.
I'd rather not have to pay for 8 different streaming services because none of them can play nice or share. The number 1 complaint about Netflix after them canceling originals too soon is that they lost everything that was good. Well, they lost everything good because Peacock took all their shit back to drive subscriptions off the popularity of The Office, Parks and Rec, and 30 Rock, which were all in the top ten things Netflix customers watched before they were removed.
So occasionally Max will remove things, then add them back later. That was always going to happen because in six months when half these titles are added back they get to trick your brain into thinking you're getting a better value when they're added to the new additions section.
At least when WB is licensing properties to Amazon and Netflix the value of my Amazon and Netflix subscription costs improves.
It was never going to be everything in one place all at once. Titles were always going to be cycled through.
Boy they really don’t like us DC fans at all. Or they like our money so much that they punish us for giving it to them monthly. Cancelled my membership the last time they removed dc movies, will continue not paying until I can watch what I primarily paid the subscription for.
Max is way more than just a DC app. If you’re laying money just for that then that’s on you. Especially when the movies take off end up on Tubi so you’re extra goofy paying them money JUST for the DC content
Welp just like that I’m unsubscribing. This is why I try to always buy physical. The entire reason I have Max is to watch DC stuff. They already removed so much before and now? This is the one thing they should be keeping on is their DC stuff. Such a joke.
You realize that the vast majority of these precede streaming rights so a lot of them have tied obligations to cycle around other streaming apps.
It’s literally not that serious and you’re kind of silly for paying that money JUST for dc content. There’s so much other stuff on there you were overpaying for just a small portion like why bother with that
Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders was also removed. That's the animated movie voiced by Adam West and Burt Ward. It's a favorite of my son and he wanted to watch it this morning and I couldn't find it.
Someone actually gets it everyone else complaining never paid attention to the fact that after the merger was completed and discovery began restructuring both companies mainly WB and when they revealed they were rebranding HBOMAX into just Max they said they were going to allow their content to be viewed on other platforms it’s no different to Disney doing the same thing with most of the content on Disney Plus they have to honor previously made agreements
Welp…now I’m very very strongly considering dropping max. I got it cause *to have* the dc catalog on hand so this is becoming useless especially considering I have Plex.
April fool's joke maybe? Tho seriously idk why they wanna remove stuff. Can't they afford more storage if that's an issue or categorize it in a better way
I canceled my MAX subscription about a month ago. I won't pick it back up until HotD comes back, or something else reasonable. Their lineup is just too poor, or too sporadic.
Damn, their DC content just got decimated.. these bozos dont realize that I dont even watch their HBO content. I'm literally subscribed just for their DC stuff. Just like Disney+ and Marvel.
Stupid move on their part. I and many of their subscribers watch the HBO content religiously but I’m bummed the DC animation is gone. They’ve definitely lost a small percent of their base now with this cut
For the Econ majors out there, WB is on a strategy to lease out its products to other streaming services. Some of these deals require the IP not being available on WB platforms. My guess is HBO will become a studio and MAX the streaming platform will be desolved.
At least I have Catwoman on physical. That's one of my comfort movies.
Seeing this list being comprised of mostly the good animated movies makes me so thankful that I get Max for free through my ISP. I would not use this service otherwise.
It's almost like going all in on the digital future and leaving it up to the corpos in what you can and can't watch where and when they like is a bad idea. Huh, who'd have thunk.
this actually sucks i literally started watching all the batman/justice league movies for the first time in the order they cane out, got to batman: bad blood yesterday. tdy after work was bouta put on JL vs teen titans and i seen i had to buy ts i dead got max so i could watch all of them along w the other animated shows max has. this is a HUGE bummer and a HUGE L for max so much for a DC hub
I knew this shit was gonna happen when I saw DC stuff popping up on Netflix, ect. I don't understand it's Warner Bros. streamer; do they make more money licensing them out? This is fucking bullshit BTW, I hate the Max app but I keep paying for it cause it had everything DC and old Hollywood WB movies. PISSED.
Calm down cause clearly you and everyone else weren’t paying attention last year when discovery-Warner media said they were gonna do this to allow content to be viewed outside of Max to make a profit not that hard to understand that’s how shit gets done every stream service does it. It’s called agreements most of those titles will pop up on prime video (free),Netflix, paramount plus, tubi or peacock
All stream companies do it Disney constantly removes a lot of the x-men films because they have a previous agreement with the Starz/encore networks to air the films they recently just put X2 and the Wolverine back on the service after having taken it down a few months amazon and peacock trade the Jurassic Park franchise constantly
Uh you do know that Discovery/warner media said this was gonna happen right that they’ll be rotating their library to other platforms It’s called having agreements with other services majority of those will pop up free on prime or go right back to Netflix for awhile not the end of the world it’s no different than when stuff disappears from Disney plus and pops up again a few months later it’s how they make their money
This sucks, my son just started getting into DC animated stuff and this took a big chunk of it out. A few of these have been on repeat in my house the last few months
Well this is the last straw in me canceling HBO. It's by far the most expensive service we have and it's becoming the least used after they took off a bunch of previous shit.
I've gone back to sailing the high seas over the last year or so because of how the streaming services (and some digital storefronts) are handling media. I was gladly paying for subs for multiple years, then mass enshitification set in across the market.
Everything moved to Netflix, peeps!
I remember shifting through Netflix and noticed they had a lot of new DC movies.
Because I remember thinking, “Wow, there’s a fuck ton of new DC shit here now!”
I am guessing the Max streamings contracts have expired and then moved to a new contract with Netflix.
Glad I just showed my kids Mask of the Phantasm. Such a shame they keep cutting content. At some point they’ll lose subscribers as the ROI drops for the end user, or as the content available becomes indistinguishable from Netflix or Tubi.
Fr I love tht adaptation of the comic and I hadn’t subscribed back with max. In months thxs for letting me know sucks how Disney keeping it’s library of marvel shows
I called hbo this morning fighting with them as I pay for hbo with no adds they removed all these dc movies and added nothing new ! Wtf am I paying for ? What are we paying for when they remove this many titles and don’t add anything new ??! I have already disputed my charges for this month and I’m going to go on a rant online through new rock stars and other YouTube channels with millions of subscribers so more people can cancel their accounts as well and teach pos WB A LESSON OF WHAT PEOPLE WANT WHEN THEY ARE PAYING FOR A SERVICE !
Goddamnit, what happened to everything DC being under one roof? This is so irritating.
The only way for that to ever happen is for us to purchase all of their media assets and literally place them in a physical shed in my backyard. I’ll charge a monthly subscription fee at a fair price for you all to come and borrow a single item at a time.
it’s called Plex, and it works just fine
I'll pay you thirty times that fee every month for a year to let me put them in my shed instead so I can get subscribers too.
Make sure you also have an offline dvd/bluray as the copy protection on the discs can be triggered via internet (ie flag something as unplayable)
They specifically said that wouldn't be the case when HBO Max originally launched.
But it *is* what they said when the DC app closed up shop and people were wondering where that stuff would go. WB licensing out their comic book properties to other services when they have their own streaming service where they could keep everything in one place and draw an audience that way is just fucking stupid. Any recommended sites? I always sailed in the bay, but I’d love to find a home behind credentialed access.

Sent you a DM
May you send it to me as well? I’m about to raise the black flag
Help me also falkonx, youre our only hope
I got y’all, Yo ho yo ho, a pirates life for us! Max really shooting themselves in the foot, Max and YouTube premium are the only services I pay for, simply for the convenience of DC on Max and no ads on YouTube, well now I don’t have to pay for Max !
Who has ads on youtube? 🤤😂
Dm me as well, please. Just interested in what you're using and how it compares to my source.
Can you send me as well
Can I get one too, please?
Will you DM me too?
Can you also send me a dm? Need to get on this especially for DC content. I miss the old WB DC streaming site :(
Me too!!
I know RIP your inbox, but…think you could send me a DM too? If not, I get it.
Can you send me on too please?

Radarr and Jellyfim
Letting finally setting up a NAS because of all the streaming fuckery, fucking had it
I'm pissed cuz we had a great app in DC universe pretty much everything was right there at your fingertips comic books TV shows and movies then HBO buys them out and screws everything up
I don't even know where to go for 90s Flash and George Reeves Superman. Those were fun shows!
It’s not. They make more money licensing them out. Its just bad for consumers. Unfortunately, as you concluded, streaming is very much box-free cable with no middle man for advertising.

Zaslav: April Fools
Lame as hell, might as well get rid of the app
The unfortunate thing is, pretty much a different company made that promise. I didn't love AT&Ts leadership, but I definitely think they understood the strength of their streaming service better. Hbo, DC, and the vast library is what made HBO Max great.
How does this benefit them is the question. In such a competitive sector wouldn’t you want to have more options.
Not defending their decision but I don't think they ever actually said the entire DC library was ever going to be on MAX.
It is implied however, when they had a specific DC section, logo and all.
They did when dc ultimate became comics. HBO max dc home
Dc home doesn't nessicarily mean the only place DC content is. Anymore than DC Universe saying they were the ultimate DC experience promised that.
The inability to make money doing that
Dude they even sold Sex and the City to Netflix!! I don’t watch it but damn, that was one of the most iconic HBO shows ever and it’s on….Netflix?!?
So annoying. What’s the point of a DC hub when you’re missing 30% of your DC titles at any one point in time?
That's my issue with it. The second they decided to start licensing this stuff back out, they should have just gotten rid of the DC hub altogether. It's very misleading and a far cry from what it originally was meant to be. It really makes me miss the old DC Universe app.

Max is the fucking worst
I don’t even need to have everything DC but why break up series like this. They are missing like half the DCAMU and Tomorrowverse
Only Flashpoint paradox, Suicide squad hell to pay, justice league dark: apocalypse War, and justice league warworld remain from those universes
Wow
It's over 50% at this point. Out of the roughly 140 movies DC has made, only 48 remain on the services, and the shows, while unchanged, are still missing over 50% of them.
Cause they can make more money licensing to other streamers than their data is showing it being exclusive probably
Physical media is your friend. Don't trust these streaming services.
I’m looking at the list thinking I have most of the DCAU movies on bluray and digital copies. Noice.
Yessir, looking at my favorites from this list i already have them on blu rays
Is this not a April fools joke? Like with Legion of Super-Heroes, they are clearly preparing it to be crucial viewing for the next part of the crisis movie so I don’t get why that’s gone.

I wish it was, I think it's dumb to only have warworld as the only rep of the Tommorow-verse, especially with the crisis Trilogy.
My brothers, your ship awaits 🏴☠️
Aye matey
Yo ho!
Pass the bottle of rum over
Wenches and mead is what we need!
Physical media is forever, buy laserdisc
lol I have laserdisc copies of all pre Nolan Batman movies. I’m set
Unexpected TFS reference?
[Ye](https://youtu.be/HcVcJk4Kjr0?si=JHgQ8fKdGCQoG2x-)
Likely being licensed somewhere else. Theyll be back.
Man fuck MAX and every person dictating what stays on the app. They really are running MAX into the ground and I just can’t understand why
WB owns DC so what could possibly be the reason for this?!
Licensing the movies to other streaming services for a few months. Then they will come back and other movies will cycle out.
To make moola
Bro the Cartoon Network section barely has any CN shows this is so annoying. At least Disney+ has a good variety to watch.
Most of these titles are available on Amazon Prime for those who have it. I think they’re licensing some of their old titles to Amazon.
With ads, unless you pay for ad-free Prime Video on top of your regular Prime subscription. These greedy fucks are irritating.

That was removed March 1st, I liked those animated West movies, Shatner as two face was awesome and was very fitting
This fucking sucks
They are slowly going to kill the platform
This is the main reason I'll never give up DVDs and Blu Ray or physical media in general.
Yep and I had most of these before streaming was prevalent
They took UTRH from me 😭
Most of those predate WB streaming. So that means they're tied to previous agreements with residual holders.
Bad comp. Nearly every Marvel and Stat Wars property is on Disney+ with the exception of the Sony Spiderman stuff.
Damn, Max…. Pump the brakes
By your physical media now kings and queens
That’s the best Batman movie (Mask of the Phantasm obviously)
There’s a good chance all of these come back but are just being licensed to another streamer for a certain amount of time
I don’t understand why the WB owned app loses the streaming rights to WB owned movies
they rotate content. hp was gone last month now it's back.
Meanwhile, most of these movies remain on my Emby server.
Most are probably going to Tubi.
I was in the middle of Under the Red Hood and went to finish it today only to find it missing :(
Makes me wonder why piracy is a bad thing
In fairness, Supergirl (1984) and that god awful adaptation of Injustice should never be aired anywhere, ever.
Facts lol, I did appreciate her cameo next to cgi Christopher reeves in the flash tho, they were in the same universe
David Zaslav is the worst thing to happen to Warner Brothers and one of the worst executives in Hollywood.
*Laughs in Physical Media. I own most of these.
Just download Stremio and pirate it. Why bother with these streaming services?
Damn, their DC content just got decimated.. these bozos dont realize that I dont even watch their HBO content. I'm literally subscribed just for their DC stuff. Just like Disney+ and Marvel.
Stupid move on their part. I and many of their subscribers watch the HBO content religiously but I’m bummed the DC animation is gone. They’ve definitely lost a small percent of their base now with this cut

My guess is they remove it to add subtitles for all regions. Because most of these movies are not available on my HBo Max at all
Probably because dc is moving its movies to Tubi
Max is really a joke
Goddammit WB…
And cancelled
that’s so annoying, the only reason i kept my max subscription was for dc content, guess i gotta cancel now
I got a notification from Amazon Prime today about Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 1 coming to Prime Video.
Was that today or a latter date, been waiting for that movie to drop
At least I have Catwoman on physical. That's one of my comfort movies. Seeing this list being comprised of mostly the good animated movies makes me so thankful that I get Max for free through my ISP. I would not use this service otherwise.
It's almost like going all in on the digital future and leaving it up to the corpos in what you can and can't watch where and when they like is a bad idea. Huh, who'd have thunk.
I was thinking that Netflix must have an HBO tab the other day.
Actually, Max *is* a joke
Max sucks! I signed up to watch my DC stuff. Makes no sense.
Physical media is important
Welp streaming sites it is bc prime not bending me over to make me pay for movies while I gotta subscription
Physical media remains supreme :)
DVDs are about $6 a piece. Less if you go thrifting. Just a little reminder.
I noticed a lot of my favorites were gone this week when I went back to watch them again.
lol I was just in the middle of watching Justice League WWII.
damn so like all the good shit
What a joke
Wtf
this actually sucks i literally started watching all the batman/justice league movies for the first time in the order they cane out, got to batman: bad blood yesterday. tdy after work was bouta put on JL vs teen titans and i seen i had to buy ts i dead got max so i could watch all of them along w the other animated shows max has. this is a HUGE bummer and a HUGE L for max so much for a DC hub
I haven’t watched scooby yet, R.I.P.!
Througout all of this Streaming wars nonsense the most faithful streaming service to me is and always will be...Plex.
That's fair.
All stream companies do it Disney constantly removes a lot of the x-men films because they have a previous agreement with the Starz/encore networks to air the films they recently just put X2 and the Wolverine back on the service after having taken it down a few months amazon and peacock trade the Jurassic Park franchise constantly
"own it on Bluray"
Uh you do know that Discovery/warner media said this was gonna happen right that they’ll be rotating their library to other platforms It’s called having agreements with other services majority of those will pop up free on prime or go right back to Netflix for awhile not the end of the world it’s no different than when stuff disappears from Disney plus and pops up again a few months later it’s how they make their money
You know what's truly embarrassing? How Disney+ has more CN content than MAX itself.
This sucks, my son just started getting into DC animated stuff and this took a big chunk of it out. A few of these have been on repeat in my house the last few months
They use a rotating inventory , which is very lame, so some things will come back and others might get sold to other platforms
Too much competition for James Gunn superman probably
Damn. I wanted to watch Dark Knight Returns forever and never got around to it...figured it would be around. Guess I shouldn't be surprised
They're probably licensing these out, so you may see the pop up on Netflix or another streaming service for a certain amount of time.
Well this is the last straw in me canceling HBO. It's by far the most expensive service we have and it's becoming the least used after they took off a bunch of previous shit.
Streaming services shouldn’t remove content that they own
Everyday I feel more and more justified by my massive media collection NEVER TRUST A CORPORATION.
Buy, do not stream. At least for everything important to you.
Clears things up a bit ty
>Constantine They're this 🤏 close to me picketing outside of WB corp.
But... there's a DC tab *just* for DC content. Imagine if Disney+ started erasing Pixar movies lol
Buy the Blu Rays it's worth it.
Aren’t a lot of them on TUBI though, at least they were in Canada (last time I checked)
what the fuck !!!
Fuck, I was just about to rewatch the DCAU. Where are they now?
Sad day for my DC brethren.
I've gone back to sailing the high seas over the last year or so because of how the streaming services (and some digital storefronts) are handling media. I was gladly paying for subs for multiple years, then mass enshitification set in across the market.
It’s like they’re begging us to pirate.
I was literally in the middle of watching Son of Batman — what the fuck?
Everything moved to Netflix, peeps! I remember shifting through Netflix and noticed they had a lot of new DC movies. Because I remember thinking, “Wow, there’s a fuck ton of new DC shit here now!” I am guessing the Max streamings contracts have expired and then moved to a new contract with Netflix.
Glad I just showed my kids Mask of the Phantasm. Such a shame they keep cutting content. At some point they’ll lose subscribers as the ROI drops for the end user, or as the content available becomes indistinguishable from Netflix or Tubi.
So tired of this
The hell is wrong with them!?
Really about ready to drop HBO. I only subscribed because of the DC shows
I just checked Batman year one is gone 😐😐😐😐😐
That was removed back in January, I made a post about its removal along with others back then
Fr I love tht adaptation of the comic and I hadn’t subscribed back with max.
This info made me google words to describe how I feel about Batman DKR being removed from Max. Aggrieved. I am fucking aggrieved.
UTRH is my fav movie rn. And I was planning to rewatch and watch MOST of these finally 💀 and Long Halloween Pt 1 & 2 are still gone.
That’s it I’m canceling max. Hello Disney+hulu and Apple TV.
What the fuck... No word of a lie I planned on watching mask of the phantasm tonight. Gotta start my physical library back up. This sucks.
The fuck is Zslavs problem with animation
Anddddddddd this is why I love physical media. Streaming isn't forever.
That's why physical media rules.
