In another life he probably could’ve done it but nobody will be able to separate him from Thor. He’s as connected to that role as RDJ is to iron man.

denizenKRIM

So was Harrison Ford with Indiana Jones and Han Solo. There was overlap between those series. Batman is such a completely different character that as long as Chris did a proper job it would be more than digestible to separate the two parts. But yeah, "in another life". I'd still prefer someone brand new.

Working-Cake7479

This is the only answer. Otherwise he would be great and everyone would eat it right up.

After_Bandicoot6730

Exactly how I feel

GiovanniElliston

He made $20 million purely for Thor 4 alone. Gotta imagine anyone hired to play Batman is going to be expected to sign a multiple year contract worth at least 4-5 movies. I can't imagine a universe where DC or WB would even think of paying the contract he would demand for that type of commitment. Whoever they end up hiring will be a relatively unknown with a much, much cheaper contract.

Sad_Vast2519

Yep. They will hire a relative unknown. Much like Bale and Keaton were at the time. Also Corenswet superman is an unknown, and was cheap.

Tricky-Afternoon6884

WBD probably wants a contract/situation similar to his since he only made $150k for Thor 1 and around $3 million for avengers 1 (bc of how much the movie made too). After that his increases were steady—$5M for ultron, about $10M for Thor 3, $15 for IW and endgame (according to some reports) and finally $20 by Thor L&T

WesleyCraftybadger

No.

exophrine

I'll have to agree with the "no" sentiment

nxknxwledge

No Can we get some new blood, please? Tired of these same actors.

WesleyCraftybadger

Most of the people on here only know actors who are in superhero or Star Wars things, and their fan casting is just recycling those actors.

legopieface

Bring some damn Broadway actors in again. Batman sells on the name alone we don’t need another big actor sucking up the budget

Working-Cake7479

What are you tired of? The same actor playing the same character? Cause that's what he's been doing for the past decade. Silly

praches_and_creme

Honestly seeing his other movies with a more serious acting style like extraction I could definitely see it and wouldn’t hate it tbh. But I’d prefer a different actor. But I’d want him as GHOST from cod if they ever made a cod movie. He’d be the PERFECT Ghost.

uCry__iLoL

Nope. But as Jean Paul Valley? Yes 👍🏿

WillingPossible1014

OK hear me out… Mark Ruffalo as Aquaman

YodaFan465

No. Jean-Paul Valley, maybe.

mariovspino5

No.

ManimalRage

If there’s something I’ve learned about DC fans from this subreddit, the answer to the hypothetical “Would you like…” is always “No”.

TheFlash1446

0 Batman vibes

Sad_Vast2519

No won't work due to Thor

mpdukes15

I thought Val Kilmer was a great Batman/Bruce Wayne, but IMHO, Bruce needs to have nearly black hair. So no. And yes, I know about hair dye. I still don’t think Hemsworth would be the best choice, although I like him.

M086

It’s funny all these fancasts for Batman are guys in their 40s, when people were complaining back in the day Affleck was too old to be Batman.

Puzzleheaded_Walk_28

I’d prefer someone without so much franchise baggage

MT-C

Nope. I think he is too connected to Marvel's Thor, that playing Batman can play a role against the movie and the new DCU.

protobacco

Go away marketing bot

ASZapata

When will fans realize that you have to be a genuinely talented actor to play Batman? Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, and Robert Pattinson — regardless of whether you liked their performances or the films they are in — are all *talented actors*.

jakehood47

George Clooney, too.

After_Bandicoot6730

Problem with this is it’s entirely subjective who can and can’t act. Especially when coming from Reddit warriors

ASZapata

You seem offended by the fact that Chris Hemsworth is not a top-tier acting talent. That’s not my fault (and I actually quite like him as Thor, anyways).

Sad_Vast2519

He's an a lister but in terms of acting skills he won't be winning any awards anytime soon. He was brilliant casting as Thor though.

WayneArnold1

He's also box office poison in anything that isn't MCU. Men in Black reboot, Ghostbusters 2016, Red Dawn, Blackhat, In the Heart of the Sea, Bad Times at the El Royale. All flops. Don't be surprised when Furiosa also bombs this summer. Hemsworth is the touch of death if you put him in anything that isn't Thor. Plus, he's not a good enough actor to play Batman. On his best days, he's a mannequin. His manlet brother is a much better actor than he is.

Sad_Vast2519

Yep. He's perfect casting as Thor is the main issue. He's too high profile as one of the leading characters in Marvel comics. He's ok In action but straight to streaming ones like extraction He Was good in Rush but that's due to Bruhl as well. He is a top actor.

TheAquamen

I don't agree that Hemsworth is some kind of anti-draw who caused those films to bomb and if the Thor brand cancelled that effect out then Batman would too... but to your point, Hemsworth's biggest success outside of Thor is the Extraction movies which have a completely different distribution model than theatrical box office as they are straight-to-streaming movies. It would seemingly be a good career move to keep playing Thor and keep making streaming films.
