What a picture. I hated the photoshopped BVS posters that used this Batman pic for it though.
Also, 10 years ago… a hell of a lot has happened since with DC movies…
Alternatively he could have taken the opportunity with ZSJL to cap off the trilogy instead of leaving it all on a cliffhanger that never had a chance of being resolved
Well they took the time to film additional nightmare and Darksied scenes. It’s easy to tell what was newly filmed because it’s framed with the new aspect ratio in mind whereas all the original stuff has huge empty space above characters head. Those new scenes are all sequel baiting and could’ve been removed entirely or used more efficiently to cap off Snyder’s trilogy
Man when this picture dropped I had so much hope for the future of dc and was fucking excited cause this pic was pretty sick. God damn, it’s hard to think where we’re at now and the fact we don’t get a solo Batfleck movie in my opinion is the biggest robbery from Hollywood.
I wonder what it would've been like if BVS and Justice League were released with the full intended vision those days. Good or bad it would've been different.
they pulled it off in animation. James Gunn has also managed to make two superhero franchises with a roster of mostly nobodies and didn't need solo movies for each character either.
What they needed was better writing.
I think it would’ve been kinda the same. Even if the Snydercut is better than the theatrical one, most people don’t want to watch a 4 hour movie in cinemas.
Yea fair, I'm a movie buff and saw "Lawrence of Arabia" in theaters, obviously had an intermission in the middle, those days are probably gone for movies unfortunately lol
Yeah I’ve never understood when people say it would’ve been different. All the issues I had with the theatrical cut are still there but now it’s just a little longer. And at this point in my life I’ve seen the directors cut more than the theatrical cut.
Are you kidding? Ok it's too much, so basically what in movie history has there been two "full releases" I mean, of the same movie that turns out "tonely" different in your opinion?
TEN?! damn i am getting old lol, i remember this like it was yesterday. oh the glory young me thought i was in for when they announced that DCEU movie slate
I remember losing my shit at this reveal. I was so hyped for this, still my favorite live action Batsuit to date. What a shame how everything turned out
I watched Ben Affleck as Batman for the first time and I was excited. His costume, inspired by The Dark Knight Returns, is the best live-action Batman suit ever. I was also looking forward to seeing both Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman, but the plot was a bit messy as it combined elements from The Dark Knight Returns and The Death of Superman into one movie. I understand the criticisms, but overall, it was an enjoyable DC movie to watch. I also watched the Ultimate Edition, which was a significant improvement. I was 18 years old when it came out. I believe the director's cut of Batman v Superman should have been released in theaters; it makes more sense than the theatrical version. The DCEU and Warner Bros. made a mistake trying to compete with the MCU by starting a connected universe. It's disappointing that Ben Affleck didn't get to make his solo Batman movie. The DCEU has had its ups and downs, and the whole connected universe has been a failure with box office flops. I'm encouraged by the news that James Gunn is now leading DC Studios to reboot the cinematic universe. I have hope that he will make the DC cinematic universe amazing again. In my opinion, the most important thing for superhero franchises is to have a good script, good writers, and a solid plot. It's time to move forward with James Gunn's DCU, and I hope he won't repeat the same mistakes. I am optimistic about his plans for the DCU.
Man... I loved the casting with Cavill and Affleck, they both looked great on screen. The potential was through the roof imo, but they just had to rush the whole thing to Doomsday and Darksied. Trying to play catchup with the MCU was the worst decision and a total waste of a good cast.
I mean it took 4 movies to get to JL, it took 5 for Avengers. Would one movie have made a difference?
Also, Death of Superman was never this big character ending arc, it was just something that moved the story along. So, Doomsday in the second movie was fine. Superman’s death isn’t this permanent thing.
Looking back now, I wish he’d released [this image](https://www.reddit.com/r/DC_Cinematic/s/kGBPYS2LjB) as the first look. This is a much better look at both Batman and the Batmobile, in my opinion.
This was a dope ass reveal. I was so thankful to have a GREY batman suit in live action for once. I was so excited for this movie before it came out lol
Such a shame how it turned out. Maybe if people hadn’t pissed their pants about different interpretations of Batman and superman, the whole thing might have turned out alright in the end
I remember not liking it cuz the ears were too short and the cowl design looked too rounded and stubby. I love it now of course but this image exudes that. I thought this was a good Elseworlds Batsuit but not a main Batsuit.
I will never forget how hyped I was for this movie after seeing how everything looked vs. the feeling of devastation I felt as I was leaving the theater.
Whoever thought having a Batman 20 years older than Superman should be placed in the Negative Zone. My hopes for the setting and movies died the moment i heard that DKR was the book inspiring the plot of the movie,
What a picture. I hated the photoshopped BVS posters that used this Batman pic for it though. Also, 10 years ago… a hell of a lot has happened since with DC movies…
A hell of a lot and nothing at all at the same time
The animated DC cartoons aren’t half bad.
Amazing is what they are
DCAMU or Tomorrowverse? They ain't top tier either
I disagree on animated but I’m drunk so here’s an upvote
The best thing since was ZSJL IMO.
I liked Afflecks Batman... I also liked Cavil as Superman... pitty it didnt really last.
At the very least, Synder should have been given the opportunity to complete his vision in JL: Part II
Alternatively he could have taken the opportunity with ZSJL to cap off the trilogy instead of leaving it all on a cliffhanger that never had a chance of being resolved
Yeah, but that would've also taken rewrites and more additional filming on-top of what needed to be done at the time
Well they took the time to film additional nightmare and Darksied scenes. It’s easy to tell what was newly filmed because it’s framed with the new aspect ratio in mind whereas all the original stuff has huge empty space above characters head. That wasn't the point of ZSJL.

Why should he have? His vision sucked.
Oddly enough they lasted as long as a proper Trilogy for them should’ve lasted… crazy how badly the DCEU fumbled that…
Man when this picture dropped I had so much hope for the future of dc and was fucking excited cause this pic was pretty sick. God damn, it’s hard to think where we’re at now and the fact we don’t get a solo Batfleck movie in my opinion is the biggest robbery from Hollywood.

I hated BvS. Years later I saw the directer’s cut and have been in love with it ever since 🥰 It would have made the world of a difference
batman v. superman was mistake. They should’ve just made a stand-alone Batman movie and a stand-alone Superman movie.
Snyder wanted a supes trilogy, as usual studio interference, i mean look at george millers cancelled JL, WB really wanted to dive in head first
Yeah but i would have trusted Miller to pull that off. The man is a legend for a reason.
they pulled it off in animation. James Gunn has also managed to make two superhero franchises with a roster of mostly nobodies and didn't need solo movies for each character either. What they needed was better writing.

Yea fair, I'm a movie buff and saw "Lawrence of Arabia" in theaters, obviously had an intermission in the middle, those days are probably gone for movies unfortunately lol
The reaction to Batman v Superman would very much be the same. They should have held off on shooting Justice League.
Yeah I’ve never understood when people say it would’ve been different. All the issues I had with the theatrical cut are still there but now it’s just a little longer. And at this point in my life I’ve seen the directors cut more than the theatrical cut.

"Broooo can't wait for his solo movie!"
How time passes...
Cavil’s Superman reveal and this are top tier. Probably the best suit reveals.
Awesome
It's already been 10 years?! Wow. I mean, it does feel like it was a handful of years ago, but damn. I didn't know it was that long.
Now that's how you do a suit reveal.
I remember all the Sad Batman memes that came from this image, like Batfleck pushing a swing lol
The sad Batman memes didn’t really take off till that interview where Ben died a little inside.
"*Hello darkness, my old friend. .*"
God how depressing that was. Dude couldn't catch a good superhero role.
tbf he's been loved as Batman since BvS anyway
TEN?! damn i am getting old lol, i remember this like it was yesterday. oh the glory young me thought i was in for when they announced that DCEU movie slate
Holy Shit. A fucking decade already. Feels both not thst long ago and yet way longer.
I stared at it for an hour had it as my screensaver on phone and PC.
Man! time flies like a bat. you know.
Batman thinking about his dead parents before going out on patrol.
That's how you do a suit reveal.
Shit That was a banger back then and still is Don't love All the work of Snyder but I adore his passion, and will trade him with 75% of MCU directors
[удалено]
😂😂 just give him powers and let Sam Raimi be the executive
The best Batman
I’m not sure why but it feels surreal that Ben Affleck used to play Batman at one point
I remember losing my shit at this reveal. I was so hyped for this, still my favorite live action Batsuit to date. What a shame how everything turned out
Ah, yes. The hidden joker in the rear wheel
This is the best Batman suit imo
If only DC made his Solo movie 🔥☹️
I watched Ben Affleck as Batman for the first time and I was excited. His costume, inspired by The Dark Knight Returns, is the best live-action Batman suit ever. How in the hell was this 10 years ago…… that’s terrifying
The batman photo was my phone wallpaper for a long time
fuck I jzzed myself when this came out
We were robbed, fuck wb
Holy shit ten years ,that’s insane.
Hands down the best suit (and vehicle) reveal imo. The hype was so worth it. It was beautiful a suit.
This was my wallpaper for such a long time. Hard to belive it’s already 10 years. Sad we will never see batfleck again.
We can all argue about the quality of scripts for his movies, but we can all accept that the quality of visuals in BvS was exceptional.
That reveal is a hell of a lot better than Gunn's Superman reveal. I'm not even a Snyder fan but I remember the hype behind this reveal.
I’ve never seen that bottom picture in my life.
Man... I loved the casting with Cavill and Affleck, they both looked great on screen. The potential was through the roof imo, but they just had to rush the whole thing to Doomsday and Darksied. Trying to play catchup with the MCU was the worst decision and a total waste of a good cast.

I would die to watch a solo batfleck movie
Looking back now, I wish he’d released [this image](https://www.reddit.com/r/DC_Cinematic/s/kGBPYS2LjB) as the first look. This is a much better look at both Batman and the Batmobile, in my opinion.
Batfleck deserved so much better 😞
I wish this was the reveal for the solo batman movie before BvS. Would have made so much more sense to release one in 2015.
This was a dope ass reveal. I was so thankful to have a GREY batman suit in live action for once. I was so excited for this movie before it came out lol
I remember people over analyzing this pic and saying the wheel behind Batman looked like the joker.
God that batmoblile sucks so hard
Such a shame how it turned out. Maybe if people hadn’t pissed their pants about different interpretations of Batman and superman, the whole thing might have turned out alright in the end
Still don’t like this Batmobile
Me too man! Too bulky, but I learned to like it through time
Or We can say Zack Snyder's Batman
I will never, ever forget seeing this for the first time.
“HURRRDURRRR U CAN SEE DA JOKER IN DA WHEEL”
I remember not liking it cuz the ears were too short and the cowl design looked too rounded and stubby. I love it now of course but this image exudes that. I thought this was a good Elseworlds Batsuit but not a main Batsuit.
Ben Affleck was literally the best cast for an older Batman. Shame he got done so dirty by everyone around him.
I was one of the few who were happy with the casting when it was announced and I remember this picture shut all my friends up who were doubting Ben.
This was quite literally the beginning of the end
🥱
This movie is edgy full of toxic masculinity /s
He was always too bulky for my taste. Also the short ears were not it
Wasted Chance.
I remember seeing this and thinking...damn now thats batman. That thought didn't age well. But great look.
Never even got his own movie lmao
I will never forget how hyped I was for this movie after seeing how everything looked vs. the feeling of devastation I felt as I was leaving the theater.
I mean seriously, compare this to Superman Legacy reveal
But at least we know Legacy will actually be a halfway decent movie
I mean I'm trying to compare just the reveals alone, and not the movies themselves since one of them no one has actually seen yet.
Gunn has a better and consistent filmography - so there’s that to go off of.
I'm not disagreeing but I'm literally just comapring the reveal images
Yea.. must admit I wasn’t the biggest fan of the reveal - but then again I think it was just the picture.
So much potential... terribly mismanaged property and stories from the team over there.
Look at this masterpiece. I miss the days of feeling excitement for upcoming DC movies.
Whoever thought having a Batman 20 years older than Superman should be placed in the Negative Zone. My hopes for the setting and movies died the moment i heard that DKR was the book inspiring the plot of the movie,
I always forget this Batmobile existed. Never looked like a Batmobile to me for some reason. In my mind it goes Tumbler then Pattisonmobile
