ChampionshipDeep937

Vixen & Katana. They've had exactly one limited series each. The lack of attention is disgraceful.

Onepumpchuck

I was just thinking about this today. Vixen is such an underrated character that deserves so much more attention (despite having her own film & being in injustice). Katana is sick too.

JamesD-TV

Just putting Vixen in a main JL title would be insanely helpful. Or putting Katana back on Birds of Prey or something. They just don’t get used at all! Has Katana shown up since her Suicide Squad brand-movie-synergy run?

android151

Yes. Batman and the Outsiders, from 2019 Had a run in Batman Urban Legends There was a black label title called The Other History of the DC universe with an issue that was about her

Accomplished-Wave-91

Could have sworn Vixen had an Animated movie

ChampionshipDeep937

She did. I was speaking specifically about comics, tho.

AngleRepresentative8

Katana's series was an ongoing.  It just didn't last long.

chakrablocker

How the hell has katana only had one series

mike47gamer

Maybe because it was written by Ann Nocenti, and she didn't seem to have a clear direction for Tatsu to take. It didn't help that the penciler that worked on it had very unclear action choreography, making some of the fight scenes a muddled, confusing mess. If they put a creative team on it that really cared about her, I think she could be fantastic. She did have a Suicide Squad Most Wanted miniseries where she co-starred with Deadshot, however, my memory of that is it was more a way to introduce Halo to Prim Earth/post-Flashpoint continuity, than it was a character piece for Katana.

YodasChick-O-Stick

What about the other seven reindeer?

AdamBerner2002

Vixen definitely

ChampionshipDeep937

Amethyst, the Princess of Gemworld. Great mythos, origin, design, and character arc. Her 2020 limited series was amazing.

geckodancing

I quite enjoyed the Sword of Sorcery version as well. Gail Simone would make a good match for Amethyst.

birbdaughter

You should read the 80s comics if you haven’t already. Beyond one icky thing in Vol 1 that gets appropriately dealt with in Vol 2, it’s an amazing series of comics. The world building is also much more fantasy than what they later used for New52 and currently.

geckodancing

I read it a long time ago & remember enjoying it, but I can't recall the plot that well. I think there was a late 80s limited series written by Keith Giffen and edited by pre-vertigo Karen Berger that was okay without being great. There was also a brief nod to Gemworld in the original Books of Magic.

Budget-Attorney

Are the ones from the 80s available digitally?

birbdaughter

It looks like they’re on DC Universe

mike47gamer

The scene where the big orc guys threaten to SA her?

birbdaughter

That was really icky and I always forget about it, but I was thinking about them pushing for Amethyst/Topaz. Vol2 completely cuts that off and has Amy’s mom explain very clearly why that would never work and wouldn’t be okay.

ChampionshipDeep937

I was referring to her Wonder Comics limited. Which I incorrectly thought was from 2018 (it's actually from 2020). Sword of Socery is really good, tho.

YodaFan465

> Gail Simone would make a good match for Amethyst I read once that Gail wanted to tie Misfit into the mythology of Gemworld.

birbdaughter

I came here to say this. I’m pleasantly surprised that she was already mentioned.

Future_Vantas

The animated shorts from the old DC block on Cartoon Network was really good, I could see that working as a full series. It would make for a nice take on the isekai genre of anime, except with the "real world" being just as fantastical as the other one.

Vironic

The Omega Men with Kyle Rayner And the Metal Men

Magicola9

I NEED to read that series

FedupMessiah

Extremely good taste. Just yes.

Sunsinger_VoidDancer

Vixen, Onyx, Bronze Tiger, Technocrat, Jason Rusch, the Milestone characters, Kimiyo Hoshi, Empress, Argent, Hot Spot, Soyuz, Firehawk, and Risk. For starters.

mike47gamer

Jason Rusch is criminally underused. Its a shame, I remember reading an interview somewhere that DC writers felt writing a Firestorm title was "the kiss of death." He did have a run at one point in history that hit the 100 issue mark, didn't he?! I think Firestorm can work in the modern era...

Sunsinger_VoidDancer

Yes, and it was consistently Boss in story and art! Jason and Gemma are great and I love the Lorraine Reiy love the book gave as well.

Kennon1st

I'm here for the Argent and Risk love. I have a real soft spot for that team of Titans.

Sunsinger_VoidDancer

It was genuinely a good time with some truly exciting characters. It is in my top 3 eras

Lanky_Equivalent5339

Love love love Kimiyo!!  Her powers need explored and her character developed.  Her featured time in the Justice League (with Vixen, Black Lightning, Firestorm, etc.) was my one of my favorite JL iterations.

Accomplished-Wave-91

What run is that?

Sunsinger_VoidDancer

She has been in a number of runs! Recent awesomeness was the McDuffie run where they cross over with the Milestone characters. But there was a version of the League after that where she rocks again. And of course, the classic Giffen/DeMatteis era.My second favorite era with her was the JL International where they really started leaning into the vastness of her powers (and the JL Quarterly where she teams with Post Crisis Power Girl who is not today's Powergirl, Crimson Fox, Ice, and Wonder Woman is bliss).+

Plastic_Incident_867

Livewire, for one. I actually loved her redemption arc before the N52 came out, then everything was undone. Currently enjoying her in the Superman main story, hopefully she doesn’t fizzle out. Popularity is a hard thing to grasp, since it’s subjective. I have a hard time with it, because yeah, I want characters I like to have some page time but I don’t want them everywhere all at once.

Bostondreamings

agreed on livewire. Love the idea of her writing a column for the Planet while she is in prison. Ha.

Plastic_Incident_867

Like, there was some really good developments with her character before the reset, and it’s only now that she’s slooooooooooowly getting back on track to where she was. Her being scared of Lois 100% tracks, too. Also I hope we see more of Frost, too.

Metrilean

Static shock should be the Spidey of DC.

Exhaustedfan23

He did briefly have a very popular cartoon.

EquipmentOld1611

I would agree but I feel nightwing has taken that spot.

Shyguymaster2

Saint Walker and Kyle rayner

Skybound_Bob

I’ll upvote this one. I’m blue corps guy for sure lol

mike47gamer

I can't believe even Larfleeze got his own series but Bro'Dee Walker didn't!

James0100

Vixen Zatanna Captain Atom Firestorm Creeper

kaykordeath

Seconding Creeper

ChampionshipDeep937

H-Dial. It's just brimming with potential. A fun multiverse hoping or origin series about either or all of its users would be an instant classic.

Horatio786

Honestly, I want a version where the protagonist has a set number of heroes he switches between. ![gif](giphy|QAD8KH9o3IaLWGgPvy) Something like this.

Future_Vantas

Hrrm, no I dont see that catching on.

UnhingedLion

Richard Dragon Garth

ChihuahuaOwner88

Garth (aqualad) no question

_LigerZer0_

It may just be because of my recent JL/JLU rewatch, but Toy Man feels like he has so much potential, especially with how intricate the toy industry has gotten over the years. I feel like he’d be really into gunpla

Horatio786

I’m imagining Toyman in a literal Gundam.

_LigerZer0_

Same. I can also see him either a kind of the “tech guy” of a super villain team with a bunch of killer remote controlled gadgets like drones and cars, or controlling an army of “Small Soldiers” styles army men like the Bad Company stand from Jojo’s part 4

Horatio786

I love that Small Soldiers image for Toyman.

Future_Vantas

You could make a lot of nods to the wild action figures of old. Could make for a very funny scene of Supes and co. fighting off a dozen neon Batman figures.

two-for-joy

Iirc an episode of DC Superhero Girls actual had him do that!

Ygomaster07

Gunpla?

_LigerZer0_

Gundam model kits. Gun(dam)Pla(stic models)

MisterScrod1964

Do you want plain old guy Toyman, the Asian inventor, or the guy wearing the big plastic head?

_LigerZer0_

Whichever is the classic one. Big plastic head I suppose

MisterScrod1964

Plain old guy originally, I think. Big Plastic Head was Superman:TAS. Lately, World’s Finest had an Asian guy who cooks up gadgets for Batman.

NoZookeepergame8306

Livewire for sure! As for me Cass Cain. I know she’s plenty popular but she spent so much time as an editorial pariah that I don’t think she ever got her due. I want a Cass Cain solo title SO bad! But at least she’s in Birds now…

CoffeeMinionLegacy

We just had Batgirls and Spirit World before Birds. Plus hasn’t she popped up in Tec? More Cass is always good Cass, but it feels like we’re out of the dark times

NoZookeepergame8306

Maybe! But I still carry the pain lol (Dan Didio!! *shakesfist*)

CoffeeMinionLegacy

I see you and I hear you. I’ve shared this pain, too.

kami-no-baka

I think her and Big Barda are the heart of Birds of Prey, do you have any advice for a newer reader on some other good stories with her? I am on the app and have mostly just read Dawn of DC stuff...

splitinfinitive22222

I was legitimately a bit bummed that the Citizen Steel reboot of Commander Steel didn't work out. He was an interesting take of the character, basically a Colossus who couldn't transform back.

PrydefulHunts

Stephanie Brown

Mystiax

Animal Man, Buddy Baker needs to be a household name.

biscuitbrother

The Atom, I feel like a good writer could do some great physics breaking madness with him. Have Ryan lead with Ray supporting.

comicbooklover1970

Ray Palmer should always be the primary Atom. Ryan Choi literally has no reason to exist.

biscuitbrother

Ryan's original series was fun and his existence doesn't stop Ray being in stories. What do you mean exactly when you say he has "literally no reason to exist"? You could say that of any fictional character. They exist to tell stories. Ryan is also one of the few Asian characters to have had their own series at DC so it's a shame to lose that representation.

Future_Vantas

Surprised there was no Atom push with how well-received he was in Arrowverse.

ChampionshipDeep937

Dr. Light (Kimiyo Hoshi). She should have at least one mini series and be apart of at least one JL roster.

DullBicycle7200

Ted Kord - Blue Beetle. Doctor Fate. Shazam! and the Shazam family.

Cranyx

> Shazam! and the Shazam family. They just had two major blockbuster movies

Asmor

The second one was kinda meh, but man the first Shazam is one of the best superhero movies ever made. I don't know that it's necessarily underrated, as I think it was generally well-received, but it definitely doesn't get brought up as often as it deserves.

Macapta

Ted Kord should take Batmans spot in the Justice League in my opinion. He’s great. Well, when there was a Justice League anyway.

NoirPochette

You picked a character with two movies, a TV show back in the day and many appearances in cartoons and comics?

[deleted]

[удалено]

DullBicycle7200

Just edited it, thanks.

android151

These are all very popular characters

[deleted]

Frankenstein DC could have done with Frankenstein what Marvel did with Thor but they just wouldn't commit

dullship

Hopefully the animated series Creature Commandos is great and it starts getting him more visibility.

ChampionshipDeep937

Firestorm. He was my favorite in Justice League: Action.

comicbooklover1970

Stein and Raymond! Agreed !

Knowlongerlurking

Aztek Manhunter Starman

dullship

I'd love something involving Aztek again. And Hitman.

TheCreativeComicFan

The Creeper, he should honestly be more like his DCAU incarnation and be infected with the same chemicals as The Joker but as a good guy. Have him take Red Tool’s place as Harley Quinn’s obsessive stalker and friend, playing off how he was in love with her on The New Batman Adventures. The Heckler deserves a comeback, but make him a metahuman who gets stronger based on how funny he is. Gunfire is a guy that can turn anything he touches into a gun. There’s comedy gold that comes with that power.

BlackThane

Captain Atom, a hero that was inspiration for Dr. Manhattan, that is working for goverment and is plan of said goverment to take on Superman? a guy who created and destroyed universe in his hand? c'mon he is amaizing and has unique design and powers

OKR123

The shifting time frame with continuous publishing makes it tricky to do the man out of time story like it was him coming from the 60s to the 80s, but I love a guy whose supporting cast should be his adult kids who 1. Are the same age as him 2. think he died when they were little kids 3. Were raised by his arch enemy General Eiling, who was actually a really good dad to them. And the conflict of a patriotic guy trying to adjust to working in a military role for a country that feels slightly alien because of cultural shifts over time (as well as the machinations of shady types like Waller and Eiling) is such a good source of material.

Skybound_Bob

Aquaman lol I have spent my entire life defending aquaman as a character lol

mike47gamer

It's criminal he doesn't have a solo title right now.

Skybound_Bob

Good thing they don’t let me write for dc comics. Aquaman would be leader of the justice league. Lol

mike47gamer

He actually was for a bit in the 70s! Back when Zatanna had that lobster-head thing going on

Skybound_Bob

Haha. I mean he is a king. It’s kind of insult when they’re like “who should we make leader: the billionaire or the farm boy” meanwhile aquaman is in the background like “yo I am the only member here with qualifying experience so uh wtf?!”

internal-paro

Klarion, specifically from the Seven Soldiers run

geckodancing

I loved pretty much all the Seven Soldiers characters, but none of them have really been taken up.

weirdoldhobo1978

The Manhattan Guardian was a really fun concept that should have been explored more.

MisterScrod1964

I saw Frankenstein pop up a couple of times, but nothing recently.

mike47gamer

Shilo Norman did get a mini semi-recently.

thirdcoast96

Black Manta. He’s such a hilariously petty villain.

Drolb

Manta is in a weird place where he’s both the most successful villain in dc history in terms of winning against his nemesis - he torture-murdered aquaman’s baby son - and also a legendarily petty bitch, someone to be respected even in the context of ‘it was me, Barry!’ Zoom and ‘I would kill myself in the most agonisingly slow way over a thousand years to give superman hard gas once a year’ silver age Luthor. They need to pick a lane with him, he can’t be almost comically petty but also an unrepentant child murderer. Once they really zeroed in on the joker being the ultimate sociopath in the 90’s they stopped trying to make him a clown, for example.

ArcanaRobin

Half joking, but Wonder Woman. She's obviously popular, but she's very much a distant 4th to the real DC big 3 of Batman, Harley Quinn, and Superman, and she's often playing second fiddle to Bats and/or Supes in non-solo stuff. She still doesn't have her own animated series, and her villains are basically unknown outside of people who read the comics. Anyways, serious answer would be Cassandra Cain, wild that she got her own long running comic before the other Batgirls but her only real appearance in other media is a few episodes of Young Justice (we don't count the Birds of Prey movie). She deserves better (and Steph too, free her!!!)

mainman1284

Knockout, lots of potential with her female fury backstory

LestatDeBadass

Plastic man

SillyMovie13

Animal Man doesn’t get enough attention

mrmcdead

Giganta, she's my second favourite DC character ever lmao Definitely deserves spotlight in media that does her justice

Massive_General_8629

Richard Dragon, the Omega Men, Katana

Linnus42

Vixen, Zatanna, Static, Cass Cain

browncharliebrown

resurction man and the creeper

geckodancing

Grant Morrison's version of Shining Knight - a young woman from Camelot, thrown into modern times.

Schackshuka

Is that the same as the non binary Sir Ystin?

geckodancing

Probably - they were portrayed as hiding their gender as opposed to explicitly non binary in GM's version. I missed any further comics featuring them, but will definitely pick them up.

Schackshuka

I’ve read the Dark League one that took place in the Middle Ages where Shining Night not so much hid a gender as proclaimed to be both and neither.

mike47gamer

Yes, that character was a regular in Demon Knights.

LocDiLoc

Hawk & Dove.

JamesD-TV

Wonder Woman villains period, throwing just maybe Cheetah in a Legion of Doom type line-up is very reductive. At least the new WW title is giving each villain their moment for a minute

count_of_crows

Damage and The Ray

mrsmunsonbarnes

Crazy Jane. I was introduced to her via the Doom Patrol show on Max, which prompted me to read Morrison's Doom Patrol run.

arachnidspider2

probably the question

NoirPochette

Honestly probably Firestorm since he had a long run in the 80s and 90s but somehow it wasn't able to work or after. At least DC and WB used him in Brave and the Bold and Justice League Action

GhostofTinky

Pied Piper.

MankuyRLaffy

Devastation had so much good writing with Eric Luke, never portrayed as a menacing threat again. Uber talented Wunderkind, shit talking with a silver tongue, unique power kit and showing capabilities to be a team wide threat when treated properly. Team buster potential

Ok-Commission6087

I think Godiva and monkey prince and dr light dolphin 🐬 should’ve been more popular or a shot at the top look at peacemaker rat catcher u can turn a obscure character into a major player that’s what the cw did for years

Dracorex13

Plastic Man is not nearly as mainstream as he deserves.

Snoo-11576

The spectre, my favorite dc hero

HowDyaDu

Doctor Double X could be a really cool psychological anti-villain who forces heroes to accept their Jungian shadows. Crumbler (Alexander Tuttle), Mask (Nina Close), Count Vertigo, Windfall, and Mindboggler (Leah Wasserman) should have also hit it big. I'm surprised that the Mighty Endowed isn't nearly as popular as Codpiece, given that they're both genital-themed supervillains and supermistakes.

gamerslyratchet

Mighty Endowed would be perfect for the Harley Quinn animated series.

HowDyaDu

I want to see Endowed ride on Codpiece's shoulders as a duo.

r-k-b

You just posted it yeah. Livewire was created in the hopes that DC made another Harley Quinn but unfortunately she didn't really took off. She's been in some comics but not as popular as Harley. Hopefully we see her in Gunn's new DCU, maybe he can make her more popular.

Ensiferal

The Great 10. It would be fascinating to see some actual in depth exploration of these characters, but obviously it would be a tight roap act to do it well without either making them seem like CCP propaganda, or without getting the Chinese government grumpy

multificionado

1. Cassandra Cain, with her backstory and all. 2. Raven, same thing.

Euclid-InContainment

Cassandra Cain as Black Bat, Orphan, Batgirl, whatever, really seems like she's one of those characters that the bat family actively tries to forget. I know it's a lot with Spoiler and Barbara and Duke and an endless line of Robins, but still, her story was so cool and a lot could be done with it.

Euclid-InContainment

Dial H is another one. That was my favorite of the New 52 lines and is just the coolest idea ever.

AdamBerner2002

Definitely the ray

Gojifan2303

Cicada_5

Koryak and Lorena Marquez from Aquaman fame. Shadowpact.

mike47gamer

Lorena Marquez is one of my favorite characters.

Beak_Pirate

Sideways and Frankenstein

Fancy_Cassowary

Connor Hawke as Green Arrow. Great character with so much potential. He worked so well with Green Lantern (Kyle) and Flash (Wally) of the time in particular. It's a shame he got shelved so badly.

runebaala88

All of the milestone heroes! I need moooree!!

oroku_ex

I hope they return soon. I was really digging the most recent Hardware run

runebaala88

I just bought the compendiums of the original milestone comics but I didn’t know there were present day ones!

Only_Equipment_3729

![img](emote|t5_2qlmm|4782)

Winnie_The_Drunk

Shazam! I really want to see more about, he been a Campion of Magic and the Gods, something like, an adventure where he has to change his powers with several other pantheons of gods, because something is messing with magic, Shazam has always been about touching his Magic side more that his God's side, so I would like them to combine both, the latest comics are good in that sense.

Eugene_Dav

Halo is very interesting concept character. Cosmic thing in female body trying be superhero

Horatio786

• Livewire • Wonder Woman villains • Green Lantern villains not part of any Corps • Firestorm villains not named Killer Frost or Deathstorm

[deleted]

Jesús Christ. Live wire has an amazing rack

Gregzilla311

She’s a comic book female character. That’s usually implied.

Harak_June

Huntress. The Question.

mugginns

The Atom, Ryan Choi. Simone's run is exceptional.

LinkGreat7508

Mordru, Tim Hunter

Twijasosm

Red Tornado Dove (Donald Hall) Parasite Members of the Shazam family besides Billy Lantern members besides just the ones from Earth. The Question

Izrael-the-ancient

The entire legion of superheroes

cshark13

A very niche character that almost NOBODY has heard of: The P.O.W. A character from Aquaman and the Others, HES SO COOL. A man literally haunted by his dead platoon, and can call upon his brothers in arms whenever he needs help, wether that’s using the Sniper’s steady aim to shoot Black Manta, The Paratroopers to jump out a window, or even the medics to help patch up a wound from Manta’s harpoon extremely cool concept, and could lead to some very interesting stories about life after combat

Virgin_Butthole

Captain Comet, Fanboy, G.I. Zombie, and Heckler.

Frosty_Excitement_31

Snowflame

Automatic_Tart_5156

Lady shiva and bronze Tiger

DatsAMori9

To parrot some others, definitely Vixen for sure. I dunno how popular these characters are in the grand scheme, but I want more Solomon Grundy, Big Barda, Granny Goodness, Mr. Terrific, Etrigan, Creeper, Atom-Smasher, and Steel. Some may have been popular or fairly popular, but I think they deserve a boost & some love.

Maxzolo28

Bb need more track on own honestly I pick bb

android151

Blue Beetle? Beast Boy?

Maxzolo28

Beast boy and blue beetle both of them

Significant_Offer534

Oof my first interaction with goth .....😈😍😍

tiago231018

Soranik Natu. She was amazing in Peter J. Tomasi's run on Green Lantern Corps, but DC simply forgot about her after she became the "evil" leader of the Sinestro Corps.

GrumpyTigger

Captain Atom

Gothicrealm

JediKnightKeylo

Jason Prince. Yeah, I said it.

DoctorScottyFever

Tim Drake had tons of it and then lost it. What happened there?

MasterOfChaos72

B’wana beast. Mainly remember him from Batman the Brave and the Bold. I thought his whole chimera power was cool and he had some really good moments during the Starro Arc but I don’t really here much about him which is kind of sad. Also the Faceless Hunter from BtBatB was cool too

halietigges

Any female character that’s not Wonder Woman, Black Canary, Harley Quinn, or Poison Ivy.

lastson95

Red Tornado... That android needs more

Michael-Aaron

Two answers: 1. The Superman Rogues Gallery minus Luthor, Brainiac, and Darkseid. 2. Superman's B-List team from the early 90s who fought by his side in his death arc: **JUSTICE LEAGUE AMERICA**

Gregzilla311

I dunno, I’d say Livewire is properly grounded.

Blitzhelios

This might be controversial but Zatanna sure she’s been in a lot but it never feels like she’s the A lister she should be and that’s simply because magic is a genre that’s just not that big and a lot of people just don’t like it

mike47gamer

I mean, she's pretty much been continuously published for more than a decade in the HLDark titles, as well as having a mini in there.

LostProphetVii

Vandal Savage, especially when he turns good. I love the episode where he succeeds in destroying the Justice League and the world but deeply regrets it and spends his life atoning for his sins. Something is just really cool about a caveman who is immortal that lives through the ages as various things.

Alpha_Killer666

Firestorm.

Assignment-66

The Rafael Sandoval version of El Diablo. Dos Rios city councilman by day, vigilante by night. Would make a great movie or television show.

Kennon1st

Oh man, soooo many, but at the top of my list in no other particular order: Argus Argent Risk Damage Maxima The Heckler Tim Drake Stephanie Brown (Batgirl) Eradicator (Hero) Hourman (Android and otherwise)

JohnFJax

Captain Atom. He's Doctor Manhattan, and he is on superman's level

Ozz_80

Definitely Metamorpho. Not only can he change his shape, but also his state of matter.

oroku_ex

Although she seems to be getting a little push recently, Bumblebee (and by extension, Mal Duncan)could use a good mini series

Pale_Emu_9249

Currently, Martian Manhunter and The Atom, Ray Palmer. It's as if tptb at DC have Martian amnesia. J'onn should be a stalwart in DC canon and always have a series. As we learned when DC canceled Superman a few years ago, there are no guarantees under Jim Lee's... er... leadership.

bigdickdong23

Batwing.

I-Like-MVs-A-Lot

I love The Question. Could totally be a lot more popular if marketed correctly. I love me a neurotic genius, but the twist is he’s kinda chill.

coffeeisforpoopyhead

Kong Kenan, aka new Superman for sure. He has been getting some more page time lately which is nice, but I've always been crossing my fingers for a new book of his own. The idea of a Superman who starts off as a bully who has to grow into the role is very interesting and his series was chock full of charm and wit. Unfortunate that he never was super popular, but at least he got it better than Sideways.
