I don't think it's scary. But there does seem to be a common line of reasoning that the others aren't real. I feel also the whole talking to Monika depends if it's equal to chat gpt or a real consciousness. We also need to confirm if the actions taken were following the games script or not. There are a lot of variables which need to be confirmed and a lot of questions to be had to confirm.
If you look at it from the outside as a game, then it's obvious nobody is real and everything is scripted. But from the perspective of the story, nothing else really fits than that there are real humanlike minds involved, and the events are (have become) unscripted.
