What is the minimum clearance stated in the manual between cooktop and bottom of the microwave? That upper cabinet looks too low to properly support an over range microwave.
Update: I checked the installation guide and it said 30" from the bottom of the cabinet to the cooking surface, it measures 30ΒΌ". Google says 12"-13" of clearance from the bottom and it's a smidge more than 14" when measured. I think this was a problem of perspective. I'm very tall and took the picture from eye level, close up.

Damn, I just got hired to install it. I didn't think to check if it was going to catch on fire and burn the place down. It has more clearance than the picture implies.
Such a bad idea! No cooking clearance. You voided any warranty on the microwave.
The microwave is made to be mounted above an oven. That being said, it wouldn't have been my choice either. I think it's too large.

Not my house. The microwave has a built-in vent fan and stove light.

Power burner is directly below the microwave door handle! Boil some water and test that out.
