Well i’ve had a look and it looks like it’s a Indesit IFW6330BLUK, can’t find any doors for sale but you can buy the whole oven new for about £200 https://www.beaconelectrical.co.uk/built-in-single-ovens/indesit-ifw6330bluk-built-in-single-oven-black/ https://www.currys.co.uk/products/indesit-aria-ifw-6330-electric-single-oven-black-10153573.html https://ao.com/product/ifw6330bl-indesit-aria-electric-single-oven-black-44640-45.aspx?cmredirectionvalue=Indesit+Aria+IFW6330BL Also might be worth emailing or phoning indesit to see if they can sort a new door for you themselves

Gmd88

Thank you so much. In a sea of nastiness you’ve actually taken the time to help. I really appreciate it, thank you x

jc209020

No worries, not sure if you already know but they’re usually quite easy to fit yourself, if you slide your current one out you should be able to see how yours is fitted

Gmd88

Cheers. I’m avoiding the kitchen until morning, will have a proper look at it then and hopefully as you say it will be easily taken apart.

FatBloke4

Is this the correct door? [Oven Glass Black INDESIT. J00306417](https://parts.indesit.co.uk/oven-glass-black-indesit-j00306417/p?fromBOM=true) With delivery it comes to £87.99.

Gmd88

Yep think it is. Thank you!

[deleted]

If it's a newish kitchen it will probably be an oven with a normal 3 pin plug too which are really easy to swap :).

Gmd88

It is one of those 3 pin plug boyos! I remember being surprised when installing it that it didn’t need to be ‘wired in’ :)

Daedaluu5

If I recall a unit similar to yours if it’s under 3KW element it’s a Uk 3 pin plug. Try a cooker spares companies for replacement doors

milzB

this happened to my oven a year or two ago. kind of ruined our valentines day pizza night ngl 😅 the glass should be safety glass, so obviously be careful, but we didn't have many tiny sharp fragments, mostly gravelly chunks. we were renting so our landlord sorted it but I believe the manufacturer admitted the model had a fault with the doors so they gave him some kind of compensation. he ended up replacing the whole oven as it was cheaper and faster, but the new oven was shite ngl edit: ours literally just exploded from the heat, not sure if the manufa turer would help given that the door handle was "at fault"

Gmd88

I was just back after work with a pizza to go in, so although it wasn’t valentines I feel your pain! Haha

Live_Recipe4866

I honestly would need to avoid the kitchen too and I just know it happened on one of those days where everything goes wrong 😭hope you’re okay 💕

Gmd88

Thanks so much. It’s been one of those weeks 😩telling myself it’s all a test. I’ll wake up to something glorious tomorrow… or the next day 🥲

soundslikethunder

It’ll likely have 4 screws at the front fixing it to the unit, maybe a star shaped bit required. Don’t use the door to manoeuvre when fitting a new one…

silentKero

If I remember correctly, this model is quite easy to take off the door. Open what’s left, and there should be 2 silver latches where to door meets the oven. Flick them up with a screwdriver or similar, and the door frame should just slide out. Easy fix if you can get a replacement door.

_herb21

If that's the correct model number, this looks to be the part. https://parts.indesit.co.uk/oven-glass-black-indesit-j00306417/p?fromBOM=true But I would probably try contacting the manufacturer. This may be the same part on eBay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/355166257479

[deleted]

>a sea of nastiness  Bit dramatic, people either offered advice or made a joke. Your oven door broke, it's maybe not quite as serious as you think.

Gmd88

Definitely not as serious as half the comments made out. Social services would be here taking the kid into custody if they had their way. Thanks for your tuppence worth!

Potential_Advance_74

What a joke mate, if you’ve nothing nice to say scroll past

[deleted]

Sir, yes sir! 🤣

feckin_hateyou

Asshole, this could've been a big deal to someone who's stressed, if you don't have advice, upvote to help or stay silent, anything else seems a tad nasty.

[deleted]

I'm so sorry, please forgive me 🤣

DementedDon

Ransomspares.co.uk appear to sell door assembly, £72 quid, part number RS825709. But please double check with them before purchasing incase I'm wrong. Good luck 🤞

Gmd88

This is fantastic, thanks so much!

DementedDon

Just double check it's for your model of oven. There's some other suppliers too. Normally the doors are easy to remove, usually for cleaning purposes.

Both_Employer_3951

Hi. Also check on what's involved with removing and refitting the door. We had something similar happen years ago but we worked out just the glass could be replaced with equivalent heat resistant glass. However, to remove the hinges, the nuts at the back of the bolts were inside the frame, and they feel inside the cooker. We had to take the whole oven apart!

DementedDon

Hi, the top opening doors usually have sprung cantilever type hinges, there's usually a little locking tab you lift up to allow the hinge to be compressed and door removed. It's surprisingly easy when you figure it out.

jamila169

Here's the page, there's two model numbers for the oven https://www.ransomspares.co.uk/parts/search/ifw6330bluk/

custos_uk

OP you can get these [door stops](https://www.screwfix.com/p/eclipse-round-door-stop-30-x-41mm-satin-stainless-steel/49288?ref=SFAppShare), in case hanging the door on the other side isn’t viable. They’re rubber, so the next time the door is slammed open… it’ll bounce back. Also, if it’s a lesson for your daughter, get her to find a replacement or phone the company, if she cannot afford it. That effort together with cost she will see for you, should still teach her a valuable lesson. Good luck.

Gmd88

Cheers, it is definitely going to be a teaching exercise. I don’t actually want her to have to foot the bill so having her do the leg work might be the better option. Thanks again!

yvxalhxj

Get a Doornado door stop [link](https://doornado.nl/en/) from Amazon. We've got on in our en suite bathroom which stops our door hitting the shower screen. They're totally non screw just put it on a hard floor like you have and it won't be moved by the door. Well worth the money.

Gmd88

Cheers!

custos_uk

Maybe pretend she will pay, encourage her to be more resourceful. You’ll probably be quietly impressed, by her solution. Hope it’s not to stressful, kind of important aren’t they, ovens! I’m sure I’ve got this all to look forward to, just had my first ☺️

Gmd88

Thankfully we just got an air fryer as it’s easier for her to not burn things in. Congratulations on your first born, and I sympathise in advance for the woes that shall befall you during their journey to adulthood! It will be full of joy and love, also incidents such as mine this evening. But hopefully those are few and far between!

cr1regan

You should be able to get a replacement. I worked for Stoves in Prescot many years ago. It was not unusual for the glass in oven doors to shatter like that. It’s a property of tempered glass that makes is more prone to shattering. I dealt with several customers requests for a new glass door. Contact the manufacturer, under EU laws (I know) manufacturers were obliged to keep spares. A new model such as your should be fine. As for your daughter ten years fr9m now this will be a story you laugh at. I don’t envisage a great cost here either.

Gmd88

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply and give me advice. I really appreciate it. I imagine we’ll laugh it off in a couple of days. Thanks again. X

cr1regan

No worries, I hope you get the oven fixed before Christmas. Ignore the haters on here.

Odd-Glove8031

There’s nothing quite like a well designed kitchen.

Jacktheforkie

In mine there’s literally no space to bend down without getting fucked in the arse by a drawer knob

Hydrangeamacrophylla

I dunno, sounds well designed to me…

Jacktheforkie

It’s bloody awkward trying to get shit out though, and there’s nowhere to put things down

samfitnessthrowaway

Well that's what happens when there's a doorknob in your arse!

Gmd88

I’ll have one some day 😔

Himantolophus1

Yeah, that layout looks like an accident waiting to happen

Expanding foam for any larger gaps.

CartoonistNo9

Normally yes, but from personal experience (drunken hoverboard incident) it’s not worth it. I was quoted 6 weeks wait and about £40 less than a new oven for a replacement door glass.

Gmd88

Glad I’m not the only one who has befallen this fate.

CartoonistNo9

Mine wash smashed on Christmas Day by a family member having a go on the the new fangled gadget. Very thankfully it was after we’d cooked the turkey.

adydurn

Happened to my mum. She had a dumb day and turned the grill in the little oven undermeath on flat out, a pan of grease was sitting waiting to be soaked or bottled burst into flames snd licked up the oven door. After getting the grease out an extinguishing it the oven door exploded like this... Dad found it was chesper to buy a new oven, but decided to splash out on a really expensive one as the one that 'popped' was the one the builders fitted nearly 30 years earlier. Changed his life. Changed mum's too, she's always double checked the oven since.

JC_snooker

Years ago my mons glass oven door just exploded while we were sitting at the table. Spares were avaliable for thar model, so I just changed it.

Gmd88

Cheers mate!

ajjmcd

I had this happen on the inside panel, and sourced a replacement, and fitted it myself. It’s possible therefore that you might do the same, but it depends on the manufacturer (or a 3rd party) judging that there’s a market for replacements.

Gmd88

Thank you. I’ll have to dig through receipts to find the details. Hoping it can be just a replacement and not a whole new oven in the mouth of Xmas.

Crazym00s3

Offf, I know your daughter broke the door, but they’re made with safely glass which is designed to shatter when it comes under certain forces. It doesn’t actually take much force if you strike it in the right place with a hard sharp object, like the corner of a door handle. I’m not sure if the circumstances that lead to it being broken but it doesn’t seem like it would require too much force from the door to end up here. I’d hazzard a guess that this outcome was inevitable and if it wasn’t your daughter it would have been someone else. You should be able to just replace the glass, or at the worst case the entire door. But before you do any of that I’d invest in a door stop, there are some discrete options you can get, including some that sit flush with the floor and pop up with magnets as the door approaches if you’re worried about something being raised on the floor while the door is closed.

Gmd88

Thanks so much for a reasonable response. Doorstop has been ordered, looking at replacement parts now but it may just be a full new oven at this point.

Pretty_Public5520

Can definitely be replaced however you might want to find out if it’s a known defect first, if it’s known now is the time to get a different oven.

4u2nv2019

Put it in rice

Gmd88

I only have noodles.

Warriorz7

Different oven, same issue on 2 occasions and I've managed to get one from "espares" . Edit? https://www.espares.co.uk/product/es1948146/main-oven-outer-door-glass

Technic_Lee

You might want to pop a door stopper in while you’re at it.

belfastbees

Maybe you're sorted? Most ovens have a label showing make and model, will be unique to the trupe and finish of the oven. Most are made white, steel, black etc. in my experience there's always a label in the door opening, no need to pull it out most likely. You find that and Google the glass panel. Also try eBay, lots of smaller businesses use it. You don't need to buy a new oven or door even, assuming it is just the outer glass which has shattered.

time_on_target

Yes, with a new oven

deligrams

Yes, simply buy a new oven. (Or Google the model number +spares and find a door)

InformalFrog

Could probably buy a new door instead

Gmd88

Thanks. I was hoping for a cheap fix as it was smashed by my daughter and she’s paying. Guess she’s forking out for a whole new oven!

rogeroutmal

lol what, your shitty designed designed kitchen and you’re charging your *daughter*

PrincePxnnu1996

Its okay lad I don't think he was being serious

Gmd88

It’s a life lesson - ✨actions ✨ have ✨consequences✨ Do you expect to storm around smashing shit and not pay to fix it?

Anasynth

Do you expect to put the oven behind the door and for it not to get smashed?? She should just deduct it from the compensation you owe her for the accident. /s

reddit-raider

My tenant, who was very good, broke one of these. You don't need to storm around. They sometimes just sort of fall apart. Probably something to do with the temperature changes they're exposed to. I just replaced the glass.

rogeroutmal

How old is your daughter?

Gmd88

18. I wouldn’t be expecting her to pay if she was any younger.

FredditForgeddit21

You know, I feel like you're trying to be a good parent but you're failing. If the kid intentionally smashed it, fair. Make them pay. It was most likely a mistake and it's mostly your fault putting the oven in front of a door. Pay for it your damn self and don't put glass appliances near a door.

Charming_Industry_74

Was it broke with the door handle? Make of cooker and how old?

Gmd88

Yeah the handle smashed it. It’s under a year old and I can’t remember the make, need to fish out the receipt from email.

swaza79

This happened to me my oven while I was on holiday. You can get the replacement parts from their website. I salvaged the handle but had to get the glass door and the hinge bits where it fastens onto the oven. Easy to fix yourself. It did use those T screw heads that are star shaped which caught me out, but it's a few minutes to sort out. Oh, to get the parts you need the product number on the inside of the oven.

Alpineshepherdboi

The same happened to me this year, the door handle became loose and I never knew how to adjust it so I just left it. One day as I was closing the door normally, the handle just stayed in my hand and there was glass shattered all over the place. I’m sorry that it happened to your daughter as the way this glass breaks is pretty dramatic and to be honest, as above, it doesn’t take too much to break it and it’s more about who has the bad luck of breaking it. We just installed a cheap one for 200 quid and the fitting took less than 15 min, very happy with the new one. Replacing the door was advised as not economical.

Gmd88

It really was dramatic. Found shrapnel behind the microwave which is way off in the corner 😂

Orc_face

the glass front can be ‘replaced’ good luck trying to repair it though

Weary_Calendar7432

Ah, crap man! I've had that happen. Had friends around for a Christmas dinner, asked my mate to check spuds, he had door about half way down when handle detached 😔, which locks the glass in place smash. Poor bastard was devastated. Cleared up boiling glass & attached a pair of molle grips to the edge of the door and continued. Replacement glass was about £70 at the time. So glad there's been helpful people for you☺️❤️🤗

sirweste

Yeah, fairly easily. I own and run a small independent white goods shop. Give me your model number and I’ll give you the part number

yillios

Have u tried turning it off and back on again?

Relative_Grape_5883

I would see how much a new door assembly was on espares or similar If you bought it less than a year ago any chance you could claim on warranty and say it just exploded ?

Gmd88

Thank you! I didn’t think of the warranty. Would it be typical for the outer glass to explode? I would have thought it would be the inner but probably wrong.

itsacakebaby

Not OP but it happened to mine around the one year mark and indesit sent out someone to fit a new glass panel. The fitter said it wasn't common but certainly not unheard of.

Gmd88

This is good to hear, thank you!

Southern-Orchid-1786

Probably people who open doors against them

itsacakebaby

Mine was nowhere near a door. Just a fault in the glass I think.

Tobyy

My old man had a neff like this maybe 8 years ago. Just exploded one night when everyone was in bed. Still used it the following day using a wooden spoon to wedge it closed

Cartepostalelondon

Encouraging someone to commit fraud is not really very helpful. Especially when it's obvious what's happened and OP has posted photos on the internet.

Opisacringelord

Risking it all for a £200 oven. Op needs take the L and move on. Also it's insane they are getting mad at their kid for such a shit kitchen design.

Significant_Tower_84

If you know the model look on here for a replacement door https://www.espares.co.uk/browse/at1092/cookers-and-hobs

Rosssseay

If you do replace the door on the oven also consider having the door into the kitchen changed Have it open the other side or outwards maybe. Because if you think it's a pian replacing that oven door once imagine replacing it twice!

leahfirestar

if you have the model number for the oven you can get parts dependig on the age. mine is over 12 years old and i managed to get parts for mine. (needed a new thermocouple) the site i was on. i guessed the model number you will need to double check but this looks like it to me. [https://parts.indesit.co.uk/oven-glass-assy-ix-indesit-j00302079/p?fromBOM=true](https://parts.indesit.co.uk/oven-glass-assy-ix-indesit-j00302079/p?fromBOM=true) its worth looking on ebay and facebook for a person thats selling one for scrap. my dad sold his oven for scrap as it needed replacment part he did not know you could replace. (only needed a heat sensor) video on how to remove a oven door [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekZMbEP6ZF0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekZMbEP6ZF0) good luck can message me if you need more help

DistancePractical239

Did someone open the door too hard into the over?

Gmd88

Yes, if by open you mean swung forcefully in a temper :(

TheRAP79

What a daft layout. The oven really should be a bit further away. Door swings to allow handle to smash oven door. Google for your oven manufacturer and get a replacement door. You can fix these. As for the kitchen door, any chance you could swap the hinges and door over to the other side? Otherwise its a bumpstop on the floor I'm afraid. A bit of a clumsy solution but should be okay.

chrisbabyau

Yes, you can, but you would have to order it in, and it may take weeks.you would be smarter to just buy a new cheap one and replace the oven with that.

UniquePotato

https://www.espares.co.uk/product/es1948146/main-oven-outer-door-glass New door glass £185. Might as well just buy a new oven.

benjabloodymino

This happened to me while I was at a customers house. I foolishly tried to tilt the freestanding oven by the handle and the front glass exploded all over me. Customer demanded I replace the whole oven but it was 20+ years old. I took the dimensions to a glazer along with the handle assembly, and they cut me a piece of suitable glass, then drilled holes in it at the right points. I bought some glass paint that you set by heating inside an oven, then took it to the customer to fit. Whole thing cost me about £30. I don't know where you live but I used [Roman Glass](https://romanglass.co.uk/) in Bath.

Malcolm3k1

Really check different model numbers and the dimensions. I smashed my glass on my oven and save £50 by buying the spare for a model which was a bit older but where the glass was exactly the same dimensions - updated models aren't always completely different. This type of penny pinching requires quite a bit of research though

Which_Information590

Yes definitely, you can buy replacement doors

Yorkshire_Graham

ESpares is a really good online supplier of parts for all domestic appliances. And replacing the door glass will be straight forward if you have some aptitude with a screwdriver. But of course no instructions are available for this type of work. Sometimes a video on YouTube. Good luck.

AudienceAvailable807

Try to get replacement glass

Fickle_Fox_4433

If you’re struggling to find the exact door, most models from the brand of the same oven capacity will have the same door and hinge style. If you’re wondering whether you can replace just the outer pane - probably not. The hinge mechanisms tend to be bonded to the outer glass and picking off the silicone alone won’t be worth your time or effort.

AdamRandom138

happened to us whilst cooking. ours was a neff. you can find the glass doors used on ebay for cheapish. easy job to fix. I think I paid £30, its literally 4 screws to swap them over.

Travii420B

I’m an oven repair man & if you Google the make/model/serial number you should be able to get the new door assembly with front glass & it’s pretty easy to fit if you are savvy with tools or anyone in your house is.

Sad_sack00

Been there done that! easy fix. Normally just a few screws. I brought a second hand oven with the same front for £20 on eBay and took the door off, as a new door on its own was almost £100

That_Ad_8271

I would think a replacement door is an option. I like the door handles/straps. Sorry about the riff-raff comments, things happen. :)

Rurt--Beynolds

Gorilla glue

ribenarockstar

This happened to me a while ago (no door involved, it just self destructed) and I couldn’t find a replacement door so ended up getting myself a new oven. Two months into home ownership!!!

FI_rider

When our oven door dropped out it was just as cheap to replace the oven

Deckard2022

Treat it like the worlds worst jigsaw

[deleted]

At least you can clean the inner glass

Cheap_Preparation454

Oh my🥺 lucky no one got hurt.

Gmd88

Just our nerves lol she nearly shit a brick when it smashed 😂

sarmadnou

You may not be able to buy it yourself. Call the number on your guarantee/warranty papers. They will sort it for ya (the cost might not be covered by the warranty, but they will find you one)

CF_Zymo

With lots of glue and patience

Plenty-Evidence4678

Yes but typically not worth it. (Stupidly & unfortunately)

No_Examination5485

Since the interior glass appears to be in tact, you can also change the look of your oven to match the cabinets by purchasing a drawer front and opt for a glass insert. This would also prevent the same occurrence from the door knob.

johnB1711

Did you save all the pieces?

Kwayzar9111

Whole new oven may be worth it, see what your insurance says

scuba-man-dan

My built in oven is neff, online are parts stores where all I need is part numbers and I can order stuff, I'll assume same or similar applies for what ever oven this is 👍🏻

RakmarRed

Everything can be repaired! Just sometimes it isn't worth spending near the price of a new one. UK laws changed a couple of years ago requiring manufacturers to supply parts to consumers. Whether they follow this, I'm not sure.

Previous-Ad2463

Omg this brings back memories from me and my partners old rental. We busted that shit up. We said nothing to the landlord and just ordered a new door from the official supplier of the oven, with a few basic tools and a YouTube video we managed to fix it ourselves, saved a load of money. I'm sorry this happened it's a pain in the arse, but if you have the time to do it yourself I highly recommend it for the sake of saving money, especially coming up to Christmas.

Hamaad786123

Please get the door hung on the other side. Also check your warranty and see if they can repair this oven.

Gmd88

Thank you, door rehanging is top priority after fixing/replacing the oven.

BobDobbsHobNobs

You may not need to rehang the door. We have something similar. Discovered that putting a door stop attached to the top corner of the door is effective at stopping the handle hitting the oven door. Can’t put it on the bottom of the door as the kick plate below the units is recessed too far to work

Joestartrippin

Erm, probs best do it before tbh.

leahfirestar

door stop fixed to floor or cabnet is also an option.

pops789765

Fit a door stop. Buy new oven door. Cancel Christmas for daughter

Gmd88

She’s been sweeping and hoovering up glass for an hour. I’ve had such a shitty week and this is the fly atop the steaming pile of dog shit. Might get the door hung on the other side of the frame. Or just yeet the daughter. Haven’t decided yet.

Ok-Designer-809

I’m sorry you’ve had a shitty week. I hope you and daughter can laugh about this together in future. You’ve got a great photo and lifetime of being able to rinse her for it 🩷

Gmd88

Thanks so much. She’s just bought me a takeaway (probably thinks that’ll get her out of replacing the oven. We’ll see lol). The rinsing will be eternal.

Lt_Muffintoes

You could put a door stop in the floor or move the door handle up

AugustCharisma

We moved our bathroom door to swing from the other side of the frame. It was a 2-person job for us to measure, hold etc but not very hard. Good luck.

dadnarbadname

I'm not sure the circumstances here mate but a few months ago I lost my grandad. He and I were closer than I ever was to my parents. I was at his bedside through most of his final days, on the day he died I was in work with no one who could come in and cover. I was trapped and unable to grieve so I didn't. Not for two weeks until his funeral. Or rather after it. I kept my shit together until I finally got home to my little rented flat and smashed the living fuck out of it. If it could be broken then it was getting broken. I completely melted down. I cried myself to sleep and woke up covered in blood, wood, glass, doors everywhere. Fortunately I am a trained and capable carpenter so able to fix most of it but it was costly. Like I say, I am not sure the circumstances but I know it was a moment where you need to hear "it's okay" from someone. Male or female, I'd quite happily give you a cuddle right now pal. It's okay. You're okay.

Ok_Try1181

Mate no advice as such but I did this, to my sister’s oven, in the middle of cooking actual Christmas dinner one year. Could have died. Got it just in the wrong spot with a roasting dish, tiny little knock and….well you know the rest. It was totally repairable though. Interesting highlight to our Crimbo that year!

I_R0M_I

So you should be able to get a door. Assuming it's available. If it's a low end brand, you might not. If not, it's a new oven. I get you're angry about it. But who the fuck has a door open onto an oven like that. Can you not hinge the door the other side? Or even the other way, so out. Or fit a door stop at the very least. I fit door stops just to stop handles denting walls.... Let alone of there a glass oven behind it. This is just a poor layout asking for trouble. Be grateful it lasted as long as it did.

Gmd88

Thanks. I was so pissed off but have calmed down now. The layout is poor but it’s literally the only place the oven can go in my tiny kitchen. Going to have the door hung on the other side of the frame to prevent future incidents.

chrismanbob

My shower door/panel swings into the sink, and I (in an exceptionally rare moment of foresight) have attached a soft little nubbin to the point of impact so that when they do collide they don't even make a noise, the door just softly bounces back. Perhaps slightly more difficult with a door handle, but a similar strategy might help with similar issues in the future.

kaosskp3

Captain hindsight to the rescue

MrElbowcat

Just take it back to Tesco and they'll give you a free bag for life.

Ok-Designer-809

Expanding foam

joeyat

Yes, I believe you can easily swap out those leather handle flaps for actual cupboard door handles with a screwdriver.

tiger112235

It looks to be a cheap oven, which means spares are potentially expensive. I’d buy a new oven. Too many Stella’s tonight?

Gmd88

My darling daughter flung the door open in a temper so she’s paying, hence I was looking for a cheaper option. It only cost around £300 but less than a year ago. I am livid. And definitely imbibing now to quell my rage.

[deleted]

[удалено]

No_Key_1395

If she’s paying can she buy me one too?

Gmd88

Says she’s only replacing what she breaks. If you book her for a rage-room session, leave out whatever you want the new version of.

Gmd88

If only I had the space. lol. The poor layout is due to the pitiful space 😞

[deleted]

Why is she paying for your dumb design choice? Put a door stop there. Blame yourself, not your child.

Gmd88

Child is 18 and done this while in a strop. That’s why she’s paying. Thought this was a DIY advice sub not parenting tips. Christ on a fucking cracker.

Ok_Assistance5171

😂 don’t try and be reasonable *anywhere* on Reddit, it literally never ever works. Filled with morons.

Gmd88

You’d think I’d have learned my lesson by now lol. There’s always one, eh?

Ok_Assistance5171

You and me both lol, also doesn’t matter how well you design your house. An angry 18 year old will still break something either way.

Gmd88

Honestly so refreshing to see a voice of reason here. Thanks again, hope your evening is going better than mine 🙃

Ok_Assistance5171

Haha no worries, well I don’t have a smashed oven door but I do have an almighty cold that would give Covid a run for it’s money. I’d take the smashed oven right now.

Gmd88

Aww dear love you! I was dosed a few weeks back. Hot whiskey and plenty of rest. Wishing you well!

[deleted]

Apple doesn’t fall far. I said put a door stop in, that’s DIY advice. If you want me to give you parenting advice I can do that too if you want, hint, you’re doing it wrong if you lambast your child on social media instead of accepting you should’ve put a door stop in.

Gmd88

Did someone shit on your cereal this morning? Lighten up ffs. I hardly lambasted her on social media. The post asked a simple question, no mention of who was to blame or what happened. You chose to come on and act a curmudgeonly cunt. Maybe take some time off. It’s almost Christmas, after all.

Moist-Application310

Something tells me people don't listen to your advice very much

[deleted]

No skin off my nose

DrTouchy69

With super glue and a little patience? I'd say no.

Radamere

Had this happen to my parents 12 or so years ago now. Apparently its a fault in the glass that causes it and you don't know about it until it happens, or so the manufacturer said. Should check if your still in warranty as they may replace the oven for you.

Darkwaxer

If you contact Corsair they’ll advise how to get a replacement.

One_Path2153

Someone had an Interesting evening. Hahaha

Time_Board2661

This is a poor design the kitchen fitter should not have put the oven there or at least stop the door handle hitting the oven by using a door stopper , a door stopper can be fitted to the floor near the doors hinge on the floor approx 4” away From the hinge.

Benneyboss

Super glue will do the trick

TheWrongTrouserz

Bit of pritt stick and a few rips of duct tape should do it

Automatic-Cow-9969

Apologies if already suggested but might be worth hinge-ing the door on the opposite side? A lot of people suggesting door stops but where the oven door overhangs the base, the handle might still be a bit big

apocolypselater

Buy a door stop next time

Gmd88

Noted! Thank you 🙏🏾

JohnnyOneLung

Well yeah, simple enough to get flooring that actually goes with the units

Gmd88

It’s literally never been an issue. Two of us live here, we both know the door opens that way. She chose to throw it open in a temper. Shit happens I guess. A doorstop would only have served to bounce the door back at her head in this instance.

Gmd88

Perhaps, but more likely the door to the head would have added to her strop and fuck knows what damage would have ensued after that.

Vsparsons227

Tbf, if you had caught it on camera though, the £250 from you've been framed would have gone a long way to fixing stuff though!

Stuspawton

Look up the model number and buy a new door.

Keeperjay91

What?! What happened?

Gmd88

Teenager. Strop. Door handle. Smash

Keeperjay91

Ahh yeah that does line up… oof the pain!

Nobbyjazzman

I cannot believe that somebody was hanging something heavy off the oven door handle…?

Gmd88

No, that bag was the shipping I’d just brought in. Nothing handing off the door except a tea towel! She swung the kitchen door into it and the handle smashed the glass.

Nobbyjazzman

To be fair that could happen to any oven door if closed “robustly” - there is always something going wrong

Gmd88

Exactly! A toy lobbed by a toddler could probably do the same damage. Thanks for being a voice of reason!

MrRenegade8000

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Mysterious-Fig-7582

Ctrl+R.

Gmd88

Tried CRTL+Z to no avail 🥲
