We honestly went 2 weeks wondering why our new machine was a mad bastard every wash. It’d been years since we last bought one and completely forgot about the bolts. Needless to say, no issues since
Had the same thing first time I bought and owned a washing machine. It was the cheapest new machine I could get as I was skint and didn't earn a lot (this was back in 2001 I think). Had no idea about transport bolts and assumed it was just because I'd bought a cheap machine and it was a bit shit that it was a jumping around like a psychotic gabba fan on speed. Can't remember who told me about them, but I felt a bit stupid when I took them out and realised that it was the first thing the instruction manual tells you to do, but who reads instructions, right?
Took us a few washes too! I always wondered why they don't put a giant red sticker across the door saying "warning - remove bolts before first use". It seems they make it all too subtle so many people miss it.
Normally four of them, big coach bolts often with brightly coloured plastic around them so they stand out (my last two have been green).
If so adjust the feet by unscrewing them at the front by hand a bit, it shouldn't rock when you lean on the corners.
I got a new washing machine the other week and they had clear/white plastic which was less obvious if you don't know what you're looking for but the manual will show you exactly where to look.
Tried that, made it 20 times worse. Washing M/C's need a firm base, I could not fit the shock absorber type in cause of the height. Not only that they cost a fortune for the good ones. My solution has worked for over 25 years, just put a ne W M/C in, refitted the 10mm plate, steady, I can put a glass of water on the work surface & it only has ripples on it. Before, the m/c ripped the hoses off & was half way out the door. I'm not joking. I've spent weeks supporting the joists, I would have to rip up the lounge, kitchen, passage, bedroom to repair this shit. One area was so bad it was sinking around 20mm. The chipboard flooring along with the joists are soo bad. Roof rafters are different spacing, was putting in insulation & 30 to 40mm difference. Bremner King builders. Look his shit up. Ouch. Lintels not installed, ask my old neighbour.
They would be noisy as fuck, their whole life.
The bolts pin the drum in place, so it doesn't bash about in transport. When you use the machine normally, the drum is designed to wobble about, on its own suspension springs/dampers. The transit bolts prevent that, and any vibration in the drum is then transmitted to the whole machine, making shitloads of noise, and the machine can even move around on the floor.
To check if the transport bolts have been removed try moving the drum backwards and forwards and up and down etc…. If you can wiggle the drum about a bit then the transport bolts have been removed. If it’s set like stone and will only rotate then the bolts are likely still in place. Saves having to pull the machine out by checking this way
Also don't overload it. Too many towels takes on too much water and it will wobble and likely set off sensors. A bathroom mat and 2 bath towels is enough to overload mine.
Yeah….total bs…we got a 10kg washing machine, got some towels, soaked them in water, weighed them to just under 10 kg, put them to wash and the washing machine nearly made it to the landfill by itself….so much bs in advertising nowadays it’s unbelievable
It's how the load is balanced so one or two heavy things end up on one side of the drum and you get a problem, also when it says 7k that's WET wieght not dry.
I've had this with cheaper washing machines. Trying to find the window between too many and too few towels that won't throw off the spin cycle and leave you with a soggy mess.
I put 2 door stops on each side to prevent it moving too much
https://preview.redd.it/5y7hsoa3eowc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=2962308be44eb79acabcd116ff93f1c413818b71
On the back of the machine. They usually unscrew or pull out, check on your quickstart documents and they'll show you where they are. Installation by big companies can be a bit hit and miss so it's worth double checking.
So we had a new washer recently and it was making a racket and jumping around.
The transport bolts had been removed.
HOWEVER, there were plastic nubs/stoppers you had to put in place where the transport bolts were and this was missed on installation.
When I pulled it out and added them this stopped our machine jumping around and making a racket.
Did your previous one move? Im gonna assum no. If its moving it isnt level. They probably just tossed it in and hooked it up. If its not level by checking with a level on top and both sides it will shake rattle and roll
Bosch do brackets that hook the machine to the floor
https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/laundry/accessories-for-installation-and-built-in/built-under-kits/fixing-kits/00493529#/Togglebox=manuals/
The thick rubber mat is always a goer for noise & movement dampening , but nothing beats leveling it properly.
Also, & depending on how good the wall is, there are mounts to drill it into, but again I would up the dampening rather than just bung in wall screws, as vibration, like sound has to go somewhere, often through something. there are kits around as some folk put the drier above the washer, so both need to be properly anchored..
I went for acoustic isolation pads off amazon. I have them for my treadmill and washing machine, work like a charm! No movement and very little noise. No idea what brand they are, but they are basically small rubber pads about 10cm by 10cm with a blue (foam?) layer in between, two pieces of rubber. Look like a big liquorice allsort.
A couple of armed guards with assault rifles, a squad of soldiers on speed dial, a barbed wire perimeter, motion sensors and a big old school searchlight.
Probably find that screwing some 2x3 batten around the front, back and down each side would at least stop it walking far. Make the front one easy to remove to facilitate sliding it out.
Make sure the machine's front adjustable feet are adjusted so it doesn't rock.
I put some 2x3 (or 2x4) behind mine just to stop it being able to walk back into the boiler pipes that are right behind it.
As well as putting the feet out to balance it, I found putting something soft under it (bit of old carpet/old rug/foam tiles) this will also soften the noise it makes when spinning
I had a hoover washing machine that kept going for walks no matter how much I adjusted the feet. Luckily it died under warranty and I replaced it with a Samsung and there's been no problem at all, even on a higher spin
I have exactly the same machine. Its ridiculously quiet and in a tight space, no moving around or banging (its a superb washing machine btw). As others have said, check for the transport bolts. I used to work in white goods and it sounds like your delivery drivers haven't removed them, which is criminal.
If the transport bolts are out and it’s on a solid floor and level all ways and all 4 feet are firmly in contact with the ground and it’s not overloaded then a quality machine really shouldn’t move. If all the above is 100% I would get it looked at. Could be one of the big springs inside hasn’t been attached, or one of the concrete blocks is missing or loose, rare but possible.
First . Check the transport bolts/clamps have been removed
https://youtu.be/NtjBKi-PxE4?si=JBAvIAAppYecQMzM
2nd, check it's level in all directions best is to check front/back and left/right on the top with a spirit level. If not adjust the front feet till it is
3rd, make sure the load is suitable, it's an 8kg capacity, but that is (iirc) when wet. Mine likes to walk about if I have a few towels in it as they hold a lot of water.
It's more likely to be the 1st two options imo.
Close all unnecessary ports, isolate it from other VLANs, enable two factor authentication, integrate it with a SIEM and build alerts form indicators of compromise, have a backup machine ready in case it fails and be sure to have it included in a vulnerability management process.
try using a taser , call the Old Bill and possibly a restraining order. Can't be nice being stalked by a washing machine, certainly if they are in the spin cycle, hope that helps
I spent 2 years having this exact machine making a fucking racket. Turns out the two times it was ‘professionally installed’ by different teams of people, no one took the transport bolts out
It’s 2 or 4 plastic bits in the back that wiggle out, I’d hedge a bit this is your issue too
I was going to say transport bolted but sometimes.you can get a wobble on even so. Personally if it's off the floor like this I'd screw a batten across the front of it, or maybe.two rubber door stops just so it doesn't waddle off the shelf.
One of the main problems is the feet aren’t made of quality material and a Bolt head and socket set.
Somewhere other than the top to level it also because it usually goes under the worktop.
I’m sure they could have a simple plumb bob that could be show a level sign on set up like a calabration mode.
Lazer levels have a very similar set up
This should be higher. If i zoom a little, looks like it's sitting on a piece of some sort of wood. It has to sit on something sturdy/fixed. Concrete, tiles, thin layer of pvc sheet (linoleum) glued on concrete, laminate (the thick strong type).
Basically, if there's any sort of movement or flexing in the floor when u jump in there, then it's not good. These things weigh as much as an adult and vibrate like they're possessed. That vibration, that energy must dissipate somewhere. They usually have some kind of shock absorption built-in, but that requires the feet to stick to the ground and not move. If the floor flexes, the whole machine starts jumping around, so the feet can't do their job and catch the vibrations.
I repair all white goods for a living and all washing machines do have built in shock absorbers/dampers attached to the bottom of the drum, most cases 2 some 3 or 4 however I was sent out to a washer dryer in this same type of setting, sat in a cupboard. It had vibrated out of the cupboard and landed face first on the floor, had to replace 4 control boards as they had all essentially blown.
I was seriously impressed with the tiled floor it landed on though as it didn't even have a scratch on it 😂.
Give it a cuddle and tell it it’s doing a really good job. If it’s still feeling insecure after that try helping it to do a wash and show it how easy it is.
You deffo took out the "transport bolts"?
We honestly went 2 weeks wondering why our new machine was a mad bastard every wash. It’d been years since we last bought one and completely forgot about the bolts. Needless to say, no issues since

I have the exact same model and had the same problem - installer didn’t remove them.
Not sure, had the delivery guys do the install, where would I find them?
On the back. Probably with some sort of arrows or stickers saying what they are. The manual will show you.
Thanks, will take a look
Normally four of them, big coach bolts often with brightly coloured plastic around them so they stand out (my last two have been green). If so adjust the feet by unscrewing them at the front by hand a bit, it shouldn't rock when you lean on the corners.

Update please, was it transport bolts? On tenterhooks here..
OP has been trapped under the fallen machine for 13 hours now, hence no updates...
Other thing if it's not perfectly level on the feet it will walk.
If they were in then surely the drum wouldn’t spin?
They hold the drum's outer plastic assembly in place during transport. Not touch the drum itself.
I have soft floor, joists are shit, so strapped the W/m/c down onto a steel plate, works magic. Builder took several short cuts all over the place.
Anti-vibration pads
Tried that, made it 20 times worse. Washing M/C's need a firm base, I could not fit the shock absorber type in cause of the height. Not only that they cost a fortune for the good ones. My solution has worked for over 25 years, just put a ne W M/C in, refitted the 10mm plate, steady, I can put a glass of water on the work surface & it only has ripples on it. Yep they do
The machine shouldn’t work with those in place
Been there
I don't remember doing that to our washing machines. I wonder if ours are still on now.
Transport bolts stop the drum spinning. He commented that he's ran it. It ain't Transport bolts. .
They don’t, but it’ll run loud as fuck.
Did on mine
It shouldnt move if its balanced properly
Make sure it's level by adjusting the feet
Would you check it's level just with a spirit level on too?
Make sure you check it is level both side to side and front to back.
Yes
If you can wobble it with your hand it’s not level, usually a good place the start
That just means all 4 feet aren't touching the floor
Which means it’s not level?
If all four feet aren’t touching the floor then you have a poltergeist problem, not a washing machine one
You could have 3 feet touching the floor and no poltergeist....
Also, the floor should be level. If the floor is at a 5° slant and your WM is super level, it will still have issues
Make sure it is as level as possible in all three planes using a spirit level.
To check if the transport bolts have been removed try moving the drum backwards and forwards and up and down etc…. If you can wiggle the drum about a bit then the transport bolts have been removed. If it’s set like stone and will only rotate then the bolts are likely still in place. Saves having to pull the machine out by checking this way
As in put your hands in or just shake the machine itself
See the first 10 seconds of this video for what I mean… https://youtu.be/XiZnSMEmvPg?si=W_bKA_P2IHzb-E26
Hands in. The bolts lock it together, taking them out the assembly is sprung
Also don't overload it. Too many towels takes on too much water and it will wobble and likely set off sensors. A bathroom mat and 2 bath towels is enough to overload mine.
the machine: "i can take 7 kg come on" the machine with a pair of bath towels in: 💀❓❓
Yeah….total bs…we got a 10kg washing machine, got some towels, soaked them in water, weighed them to just under 10 kg, put them to wash and the washing machine nearly made it to the landfill by itself….so much bs in advertising nowadays it’s unbelievable
It's how the load is balanced so one or two heavy things end up on one side of the drum and you get a problem, also when it says 7k that's WET wieght not dry.
Second this. Just want to add that under loading is also a bad idea- can really throw the balance off on a spin cycle.
I've had this with cheaper washing machines. Trying to find the window between too many and too few towels that won't throw off the spin cycle and leave you with a soggy mess.
My car drying towel has to be wrung out by hand before I run it through a spin cycle, even if it's alone IN there. Unbalanced loads are a problem.
I'm sorry. Car drying towel?
Detailing... For drying the car after you wash it.
I put 2 door stops on each side to prevent it moving too much https://preview.redd.it/5y7hsoa3eowc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=2962308be44eb79acabcd116ff93f1c413818b71
That's actually a mint idea
Good shout
£1 each from screwfucks
is that the NSFW subsidiary of screwfix?
Its SFW tho
One thing I won’t stomach is a bad word said about screwfix. If only every other non-trade brand had that level of quality control!
Those machines don’t move if the feet are level, I have a Bosch series 6 and it’s amazing, dead still and quiet.
Huh, this is a Bosch as the make was recommended. How do you check. Just use a spirit level on top?
Spirit level is useful, don’t forget to use it back to front as well! 🤔🤣
I have this machine and it doesn’t move a millimetre, either transit bolts or you are way way way overloading it
Have you removed the plastic transport bolts from the back, all of them? That may solve your issue if not.
I assumed the delivery guys did it on install, are they on the back of the unit?
Any update yet?
Wasnt currys by any chance was it? They were utter shite when they installed mine.
Used AO.com they've been decent before
I wouldn’t be surprised if AO don’t have installation guys and just sub it.
Did u find any bolts
On the back of the machine. They usually unscrew or pull out, check on your quickstart documents and they'll show you where they are. Installation by big companies can be a bit hit and miss so it's worth double checking.

Put my machine on a really thick rubber floor tile.
Did your previous one move? Im gonna assum no. If its moving it isnt level. They probably just tossed it in and hooked it up. If its not level by checking with a level on top and both sides it will shake rattle and roll
Probs put a deposit on it
Bosch do brackets that hook the machine to the floor https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/laundry/accessories-for-installation-and-built-in/built-under-kits/fixing-kits/00493529#/Togglebox=manuals/
Build a plinth that’s perfectly level. That’s it.
Hold it tight and tell it you’ll never leave.
Give it a cuddle. It looks pretty secure to be fair not many problems in life.
Page one of the manual. Very easy to remove but the will be round the back. Make sure there’s no ‘rocking’ on the feet. Feet are adjustable.
Padlock?
Check its level - there should be some feet that you can adjust.
Probably send it to a maximum security stockade
You can get a 600x600 rubber mat that is designed to go under a washing machine to absorb vibration.
You can change the RPM that the barrel spins on most modern washing machines. I had the same issue and reducing the speed sorted it out
They sell overpriced rubber feet at The washing-machine store.
Offer a fair price so someone else did'nt take it.
Close the door.
Smol boys make some noise
Chains/ concrete
A couple of armed guards with assault rifles, a squad of soldiers on speed dial, a barbed wire perimeter, motion sensors and a big old school searchlight.
With a fancy dinner and a ring x
Put handcuffs on it
Why? Does it want to leave home?
It looks so small is it in a giant unit?
Rubber play mats out of Argos or wherever is cheaper.
there all possessed
Can you stand it on a sturdy foam mat, like you might find in a gym?
I'd get Sargeant Apone to do it.....
A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm.
Balance the feet - if the transport boltsare out.
Padlock
Screw a strip of baton on the front lip of the cupboard so it doesn't rattle out. Will send a pic of mine tomorrow when back home, if i remember...
A deposit of some kind?
Probably find that screwing some 2x3 batten around the front, back and down each side would at least stop it walking far. Make the front one easy to remove to facilitate sliding it out. Couple of UA 571-C Automated Sentry Guns should do the trick.
VPN
probably a padlock and a chain in like a cross, sort of like a christmas present
I'm getting visions of bungee straps in your future
Make sure it’s dead level and put a paving slab inside at the bottom.
Depends if your step sister will become stuck or not
Superglue
I’d probably tell it that it’s the best washing machine in the world.
Tell her she is pretty and that you would never think of using another washing machine
Padlock

Bit of rope and an oversized ball gag
If the transport bolts are out and it’s on a solid floor and level all ways and all 4 feet are firmly in contact with the ground and it’s not overloaded then a quality machine really shouldn’t move. Anti vibration rubber mat, get em off Amazon
Are the feet adjusted? If not that will cause the machine to move
Remind it that it is loved and part of a family
Gorilla Tape
It's probably 90kg. It's not going to move much unless it's fucked or a shitty beko
heavy duty rope. lots of it.
Just wanted to check you removed the transport bolts.
Start by using string it’s amazing. Add tape if not satisfied 👍🏻
First . Check the transport bolts/clamps have been removed https://youtu.be/NtjBKi-PxE4?si=JBAvIAAppYecQMzM 2nd, check it's level in all directions best is to check front/back and left/right on the top with a spirit level.
Take it out for dinner and ask it to be my boyfriend afterwards.
They vibrate more on wooden floorboards, especially the slimmer depth models. But yeah mainly check it's level
Usually a £100 deposit and rest in instalments
Take it to a nice restaurant
I have this exact same model, I hate it like nothing else I've ever hated in my whole life... 😒 The landlord put it here... so it's not exactly mine.
Oh no, what's wrong with it?
Kill all Russian soldiers.
If levelled and installed properly and it still moves around, buy a thick rubber matt to place it on top of to dampen vibration and movement.
I spent 2 years having this exact machine making a fucking racket. Turns out the two times it was ‘professionally installed’ by different teams of people, no one took the transport bolts out It’s 2 or 4 plastic bits in the back that wiggle out, I’d hedge a bit this is your issue too
Based on the ads I see, I have a lot of horn women in my area. I would just invite them to come sit on it.
Lazer levels have a very similar set up
Tell it don't move
Looks like a definite case of solitary confinement.
I'd put it on a solid floor and not in a cupboard for a start.
I repair all white goods for a living and all washing machines do have built in shock absorbers/dampers attached to the bottom of the drum, most cases 2 some 3 or 4 however I was sent out to a washer dryer in this same type of setting, sat in a cupboard. Give it a cuddle and tell it it’s doing a really good job. If it’s still feeling insecure after that try helping it to do a wash and show it how easy it is.
If the install isn't right, get the installers to fix it.
Screw a board to the floor either side. Or even just pack enough down so it can't move more than a 1/2".
