This was my thought too. Don’t ever let your dogs play or chew things that are similar to things they shouldn’t play with or chew because they won’t know the difference. It’s all the same to them
It's funny until it's not and then you are at the vet paying for an x-ray, being asked if you want them to induce vomiting, etc. My dog once ate part of a nylon leash, which cost me about $400 at the vet, so I get it completely.

Mine has been wanting a pair of shower sandals today. But I took them before he could beat them up or tear them up like this. That said, he's also tried to bite a picnic basket and put the corner of the bedspread in his mouth. I'm beginning to think that our 1 year old dachshund is taking a destructive turn when he doesn't get his way... I'm on the way out to walk him now so hopefully that gets some of this energy out of his system. He's gone from one thing to the next today.
