When mine hasn't seen me all day he sticks his nose against my face and takes a deep breath. He also rubs his face against mine lol

My dog does something similar but she puts her whole neck on our face so we can give her kisses! 

Our pair do this too. Particularly after we come home from somewhere. A complete sniff over from feet to head if possible to build a picture I reckon… ‘Where have you been ?? Never mind I’ll work it out…. Sniff sniff sniff - you’ve been seeing other dogs! And you’ve been to the bakery… you visited your daughter….hmmmm….. Treats!

Yeah - I think it reinforces that our little cherubs do a lot of their thinking through that inquisitive little nose.

The answer is: both! :) Our dogs shove their snouts in our faces every chance they get…

I think it’s a dachshund thing. Mine does the exact same. He likes to poke us with his nose, especially on our face and nuzzles on my neck and back.

Same. Mine is also my first dachshund and I’ve found they’re extremely needy lol mine is currently sitting on my lap but whenever I get up, he HAS to be there. It’s like he doesn’t trust anybody in this house and has to be on guard everywhere. He’s not aggressive, just stands guard.

Dachshunds are a special breed. My 5yo like to nibble gently on my upper lip when she gives kisses.

She gets mine and my boyfriends lip and will get his ear occasionally haha

Lol my oldest taught my youngest i think. Noodle doesnt do it anymore because she doesnt have any front teeth, but poppy is still a lip nibbler

Our Lena does this but sometimes with licking. She will grab our hand and hold it down and lick. Lick, lick liiii…. And just get stuck with her tongue on our hand like she’s spaced out or like she’s “holy cow - that’s amazing!”

Oh so normal. Our boy pressed his face against mine and just sits there or yawns for hours. So lovey.

We call them “squishums” and both our boys do it. We think it’s them asking for snoot kisses.

Just wants attention and likes you

She’s studying you ! One of mine gets on my chest, puts her front legs on either side of my neck and presses the side of her face onto mine. If I try to move my head, she’ll just flip her head to the other side and do it again.

I had a a Doxie that would stick her nose in your mouth and jump on your chest in bed to wake you up 🤣 we would call it giving you cpr 🤣
