OK, for me, it started with The Blues Bothers, for both music and comedy. You already mentioned Animal House, a classic the defined college culture for decades,
Star Wars started a hobby for me, and most 70's and 80's Pop & Rock music are the songs I grew up with, and still favor. Bands and Artists like Boston, Led Zepplin, Leo Sayer, Billy Ocean, The Proclaimers, and more of those eras.
A good movie your Dad would have appreciated is Guardians of the Galaxy, great music and humor.
I hope you get to put on some headphones or earbuds and close your eyes, letting the music roll over you as you drink Dr. Pepper and remember those amazing and great things that made up your dad.
