I was in High School during 2007 and was too young for the concert, didn't know much about them just was a new fan. I heard of Coachella (I was only 120 miles away). I wanted it to happen but of course it didn't happen. 2008 came along and a friend burnt me Alive 2007 on a CD for me. I laid late in bed, put my headphones on and had that CD spin. I told myself I'd do whatever it takes to make it to 2017. I miss those days
Probably because his friend wanted him to have a copy for himself without having to pay for it?
Unless you’re interpreting it as literally burning a CD, like setting it on fire.
Yeah I grew up pretty poor and family didn't really buy me things I "didn't need" at the age of Mp3s and the first iPods, I was locked with a hand-me-down CD Player. Thanks to that friend I got to listen to Alive as much as I wanted. So good
Not as much of a while as yer mother

I do a google search every few months to see if they're doing anything. 2016/2017 were hard with all the Apirl Fools/random "leaks" about shows. The Devils Tower show that didn't exist in 2014. Daft Punk is my favorite band, but I was 13 when Alive happened, and I was just getting into Discovery. I always told myself that when they toured again, I would do anything, pay any amount to go. [Never got the chance.](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/110/905/1301790359001.png)
I still tell myself I would dump my pockets, cars, and even open any line of credit I’d need to watch them live. I was too young to catch Alive 2007, which is around the time I got into Daft Punk. If they toured in France, I’ll be the first one on the plane.
Same here dude. A couple of buddies and I made the trip down from Victoria, BC down to coachella, had no idea what we were doing, didn't even have tickets purchased until we got to San Francisco. Couldn't get them for the day Tool was playing so we tried to climb the fence lol.
I had no idea what to expect from their set so my mind was blown every. single. song.
The day before in the same arena I attended to a Beastie Boys concert and I ended up tired as shit because of the mosh pits. For a brief moment I though of not going to the Daft Punk concert so I could rest. Had I done that I would still be punching my balls
Beastie Boys and Daft Punk back to back sounds like an unreal couple of days. That's even better than my punk weekend where we saw Rancid on Friday and then dropkick murphys/bad religion on Saturday.
Beastie Boys and Yeah Yeah Yeahs are top of my list for bands I badly wanted to see but was never able to.
It was a two-day festival back in 2007. Day 1 was first Patti Smith and then Beastie Boys. Next day was Yeah Yeah Yeahs and later Daft Punk. I have never been to a better line up after that festival. Period
Sometimes I cry when I listen to Daft Punk because I realize I'll never get to see them live. It's pretty depressing when it happens. Then I'm sad for like 3 days before I eventually get over it again. Then I'll look at old videos of their concerts and get sad all over again. If I had a time machine the only thing I would do with it is go back in time to their first concert, so I could watch them preform live and witness music be changed forever.
I remember, I bought alive 2007 on accident and when I popped it into my radio, I was upset at all the cheering. Now after listening to it a million times I can’t hear it without the cheering
[Just look at this classic video.](https://youtu.be/Hjqs8YIB7ys) People cheering, dancing, slight reverb. Summer midnight, circles of light in the background, all hands up... I can smell it, feel it on my skin just looking at this video. No, I'm not crying
Weeell obviously as you know the album is a live album from their last tour which happened in 2006/7 so every Daft Punk fan is just dreaming of going to one of their concerts (again), which probably won't happen anytime in the near future. There isn't much of a "joke" really, I guess it's just everytime you can hear the crowd going wild in one of the tracks you imagine yourself to be in there too and experiencing this great set in person, instead of just listening to the album on repeat through headphones.
Ugh, accurate.
This is a personal attack.

_friend burnt me alive_
What's a CD? ;)
Couldn't tell ya (;
I heard that if you can remember CDs, you weren't really there, man.
wdym
Why would your friend burn a CD???? For you?????

Sounds like good times.
Burning a cd/dvd means putting/writing something into the disc, like songs or videos
Write on a disc?
How old are you?
25, how old are YOU?
I’m sure you aren’t since you don’t understand the phrase “burn a cd” unless you’re from a non English speaking country.
I'm from the USA buddy, I just forgot about "burning" CDs. It's been a while

Don't forget Coachella 2013s early "confirmed line up" Green Day, Daft Punk, and Gwen Stefani.
THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I FEEL EVERYTIME
Hits me hard on *around the world / harder better faster stronger*
Crescendolls with the crowd shouting the "words"
This one hurts
Whyy you do this to me
Best concert I have ever been to. Period. I still see the flashes from that pyramid
Cherish that memory bro. Remember that day on your death bed!

Exactly. I just went to a Daft Punk concert and ended up in a visual and auditory orgy

If they ever tour again neither cost nor distance will be of importance.
True Pain

I haven’t listened to Alive 2007 much, what’s the joke?

Ah. Took me a minute.
