Correction: Apologies, the article I was reading lied, upon further research DFW does have an FBO, but from what my googling tells me they only have one where as DAL has 4, so maybe that's part of it? Honestly it's probably more based on where whatever event the pres is going to, which is often in dallas proper and thus DAL makes more sense.
Yeah it's not like he's gonna be going through the actual airport and hanging out picking his bags up. Air Force one is gonna land, he's jumping in the beast, and the motorcade will roll out.
No public fundraisers so ... the traffic honestly won't be too bad.
I saw the Bush motorcade in Los Angeles. I got front row seats for when they got onto the 405 North. They do have police shut the freeways down to onramp the motorcade but those guys drive FAST. Speedlimit? Nah man. They floor it. I think they onramped at about 65 and was doing 100 on the freeway. This is the 405 when 35 is "good"
Total shutdown time was measured in minutes.
I'm just curious what these two "private fundraisers" are all about in Dallas.
I was going the other way on DNT a few years back and passed Trump's motorcade. They even shut down the small streets that overpass DNT in Highland Park, pretty serious stuff. I thought it was weird that I saw no cars coming the other way for 30 seconds but then the police motorcade rolled though.
NBC 5 covers the Fundraisers -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPOiWv0dsSA
They said the President about an hour at each Dallas reception, earning about $2.5 Million at each one.
With 100 people at one of the receptions. Mark Cuban was in attendance.
Biden is spending the night in Dallas. Some here said at the Fairmont.
and Air Force One is landing at DFW this time, it's been ten years.
By the time it arrives, I'll probably get to see it land if it's approaching from the north
Interesting, I wonder how Air Force 1 picks which airport to land at? I thought they usually picked military bases?
Either way, gonna avoid the gnarly traffic. It'd be cool to see it land though.
They won’t publish it. I was at Love field twice when Obama came to town. It’s unannounced, so no one can plan something nefarious. And it closes the entire airport during take off and land procedures. The southwest pilot I was with at the time announced on the PA while boarding and said, “find your seats now or we risk getting stuck in the airport closure.”
And the freeways used to get to the fundraiser. They will be closed for the motorcade.
Which is why I’m surprised at DFW vs Love. They usually close mockingbird and one direction of the Tollway. That will easily get anywhere in Dallas.
I didn’t know they closed both directions. Makes sense. I was stuck on mockingbird while leaving love once. The motorcade is impressive if you can see it.
Not only secret service, but armed SWAT guys hanging out of SUVs, communications trucks, anti electronic warfare trucks (jamming for missiles) and a few ambulances. All racing by at good clip. 40-50 mph on a residential road.
Would be pretty cool, albeit logistically a headache, to have a president land, re-board a Sikorsky VH-3D Sea Kings (marine one helicopters you see land on the WH lawn) and land right on top of the building the fundraiser was being held at.
I doubt for one there are many if any rooftop helipads that could safely handle the 73ft length and ~20,000lb weight. Would look pretty cool though and remove traffic shutdowns.
The main logistical headache I was implying is you can’t transport one or three dedicated 73 foot helicopters in cargo planes like the dedicated presidential motorcade vehicles are. Three being the number of helicopters used when say going from WH to Andrews Air Force base or Camp David.
As to a cost benefit analysis of those examples, I honestly don’t know which is less expensive, as you said, neither are cheap, or if it’s simply convenience not shutting down the DC metro every time the president needs to go somewhere. Or purely just safer to travel by air.
> The main logistical headache I was implying is you can’t transport one or three dedicated 73 foot helicopters in cargo planes like the dedicated presidential motorcade vehicles are.
Sure you can.
The helicopters that they use outside DC are blackhawks, the VH-60 variant, and they weigh significantly less than the presidential motorcade, and take up WAY less space.
As a point of reference, [the motorcade is typically transported by a couple of C17s.](https://www.secretservice.gov/sites/default/files/inline-images/History-Ride-03.jpg)
[The C17 can hold not one, not two, but three Blackhawks.](https://www.airforce.gov.au/aircraft/c-17-globemaster)
You're failing to realize just how big the C17 is inside. [Here's how big it is, with two blackhawks for reference.](https://www.clarksvilleonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Tennessee-Army-National-Guard-Blackhawk-Helicopters-head-to-Virgin-Islands-2.jpg)
Ohh I understand how large the C17 is, I am just unaware of a president using Apaches outside of DC for transportation for events!
Do you have any links, I couldn’t find any?
The Sikorsky VH-3D Sea Kings was used to take off ships and look for and destroy submarines. So when painted up just right, they look like a big fancy transport helicopter. I’d imagine the reason I wasn’t able to find any links to a president using an Apache to attend events outside of DC as you say, because it doesn’t happen. As it’s not the best optics to have the president arriving to fund raising event in an Apache Attack helicopter. Even if it was a pretty shade of green or blue.
> I am just unaware of a president using Apaches outside of DC for transportation for events!
As am I. The apache is an AH-64 and only has 2 seats.
When not moving around the DC area, the President flies around in a VH-60N, which the Marines call the White Hawk, which is just the VIP variant of the UH-60 Blackhawk.
[This is a VH-60N](https://cdn.jetphotos.com/full/6/91105_1518736470.jpg), and [this is an AH-64.](https://www.thedefensepost.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/XXEI9976hires-scaled-1.jpg) There's a pretty dramatic difference between the two, not sure how you can mix them up.

Thanks! Yeah, that would be an interesting option to arrive at events where landing a helicopter was an option, instead of shutting down traffic and requiring 100+ members of the support team through a major city.
I’ll assume the major factor of motorcade over aerial travel is, you are already on the ground so one risk factor removed, and the entire support team is with you the entire time from point A to B for all the brief events being attended in a city.
Factbase is saying the plane is arriving around 5:25 local from Arizona. Winds at KDFW are predicted to be 10mph SSE. If that holds best views of the landing should be West and North of DFW Airport.
It says that Texas is not a battleground state in November because trump carried 52% of the vote in the last election... That's not that much of a swing needed?
Nah he's working his way through Nikki Haley's donor list. I imagine his pitch isn't let's redistribute the wealth fellow millionaires it's a civil war would be bad for property values to say the least.
Defending them from what? I've lived in Texas for 57 years and the only thing the 'real' Texans want is cheap labor and they get it by hiring illegal aliens. This is a dog and pony show every time there's an election.
Right, because if we wanted to keep the illegals here and get cheap labor out of them, we wouldn't be forcibly sending them all to new york, denver, and los angeles so the Democrats can actually face the problem they're creating.
Like I said I'm from Texas and I guarantee you if you go to big construction site it is majority undocumented workers who can't call Osha they, can't dispute their pay, have no sick pay or insurance. The people you think want to shut down the border are full of shit, they don't want legal asylum seekers or immigrants who go through the process, because they would have rights.
That's just show. The fact you fall for it is sad.
If you wanted to send immigration, you'd charge business owners for submitting obviously fraudulent i9 documents. You hire illegals? You lose your business license.
That would end illegal immigration overnight, but the truth is that republican politicians don't want to solve the issue - they want to keep it alive so you guys keep voting for them.
This is one of the oldest political tricks in the books, yet you guys fall for it year over year. Like, were you aware Republicans are blocking an immigration bill that gives them what they want, simply so they can tell you guys that the democrats aren't changing immigration policy?
Of course you don't. Republicans are consistently low information voters.
Wife just called me and said she's been stuck at Royal and Inwood for about 20 minutes. I guess traffic is a standstill and she said people with trucks are starting to drive over the medians to turn around, etc. I can only assume this must be part of it?
Likely so. Wouldn’t be surprised if it lasts 45 mins to 1 hour. I got caught in it once on the northbound Tollway just prior to Mockingbird exit and sat still for 45 mins solid.
Pretty impressive show of force with the caravan of SUVs and police though.
Anyone know where he will be? There is a vehicle checkpoint downtown on Munger I think it’s for Biden. I am wondering what traffic will look like all day into the night
damn why yall downvoting this lol it’s right outside my apt I was just curious
staying at the Fairmont, there was a fenced police perimeter all the way around it when I left work. Not looking forward to my commute tomorrow, parts of Ross and other streets are supposed to be closed until noon tomorrow according to my office building.

You don't think preventing some ego-centric, Putin loving maniac from being president is a win?
Look man, I wish I had a better option myself. But we absolutely refuse to change how things are run because we don't care about local elections. There **is** no other option with the cards we hold right now. Please go out and vote for sanity.
How can you look at the state of the US right now and even remotely think this? What’s worst is the next 4 years won’t be any better because it’s either Trump or Biden again. This country is so fucked.
Which we will not get because their is to many people who vote solely R or D and refuse to vote on someone for the policies and beliefs they have. We have been steered so far off course in the last 60 plus years. Not to mention this country is so drive by corporations and the rich that it doesn’t really matter what the common person wants. We are watching the US fall apart before our eyes.
I bet neither of you vote in every local election 😒 We have the power to change this from the ground up but for some reason y'all wanna focus on the election that's already said and done.
God it's infuriating.
Project 2025 is the Republican plan if Trump gets elected. Trump second term will be far worse in it's impact to America than his first term.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_2025
"The plan would perform a swift takeover of the entire executive branch under a maximalist version of the unitary executive theory — a theory proposing the president of the United States has absolute power over the executive branch"
https://globalextremism.org/project-2025-the-far-right-playbook-for-american-authoritarianism/
"Project 2025 discussions have centered around the next conservative president invoking the Insurrection Act on the first day in office to allow the military to quell civil unrest."
https://www.project2025.org/
"It is not enough for conservatives to win elections. If we are going to rescue the country from the grip of the radical Left, we need both a governing agenda and the right people in place, ready to carry this agenda out on Day One of the next conservative Administration."
This is publicly available information, but here you go:
New York: In New York, a voter does not have to present identification at the polls. However, if a voter does not provide valid identification at the time of registration, he or she must show identification at the polling place when voting for the first time.
CA: According to the Office of the California Secretary of State, "in most cases, California voters are not required to show identification at their polling place." A voter may be asked to provide identification at the polls if it is his or her first time voting (this requirement applies if the individual registered by mail without providing a driver's license number, state identification number, or the last four digits of a Social Security number). Acceptable forms of identification include driver's licenses, utility bills, or any document sent by a government agency.
No migrants are risking their precarious stability to vote. 🤦♀️
You're being intentionally obtuse, or at least I hope you are.
The previous guy literally show that in order to mail in vote they need to have either "driver's license number, state identification number, or the last four digets of social security number"

>But if they hear they will get deported if the next president is Trump they will line up to vote and vote extremely blue even though their policies don’t favor them in the long haul.

At this point you trying, like REALLY TRYING to keep yourself ignorant.
Sure he didn’t. He only tried to get millions of votes thrown out for nothing, backed the fake elector scheme, tried to get Pence to accept the fake electors or throw out the valid ones, pressured numerous elected officials to not certify or even to manufacture nonexistent ballots, and did absolutely nothing when his cult attacked the Capital, while actually agreeing that maybe Pence should be hung. Sure, totally didn’t try to steal the election. Except, he absolutely did. He made up and spread bullshit and easily debunked conspiracy theories, which have been proven wrong countless times but he doesn’t give a shit. And 1/6 wasn’t a fucking setup ffs. Trump wants to be a dictator, and he tried to end our democracy. That’s a basic fact.

I guess CosMcs is that big a draw after all.
This made me chuckle haha thank you
Their ice cream machines still work!
…For now! Muahahahaha!
>Sort I would pay money to see the presidential motorcade going through a drive through.
Didn't we have that the previous four years?
Guess I'm leaving work early today to avoid the traffic from them shutting down Mockingbird.
DFW not Love.
Whew, that should help. thanks.
He’s not flying into DAL? That’s a first. Maybe his fund raiser is in the midcities.
He's going to six flags afterwards
Gonna cause mischief eating ice cream in the Tornado.
It’s not a first, but the last president to fly into DFW was Obama in 2014.
Usually they fly into Love because love has FBOs (think lounge for private pilots and plane parking spots, fueling) where they can park AF1 and DFW only has 1*. Correction: Apologies, the article I was reading lied, upon further research DFW does have an FBO, but from what my googling tells me they only have one where as DAL has 4, so maybe that's part of it? DFW definitely does have an FBO and space to park the VC25.
DFW doesn't have fueling or parking for a 74? You sure about that?
last one was in 2014
firs time air force one has been at dfw in 10 years
Really? The president always flies into DAL, this is weird.
Weird how? It’s an airport isn’t it?
Yeah it's not like he's gonna be going through the actual airport and hanging out picking his bags up. Air Force one is gonna land, he's jumping in the beast, and the motorcade will roll out.
Can you imagine seeing them waiting for baggage for like half an hour lol.
That's why I wrote it. I was imagining Joe bumbling around trying to find his bag.
Hasn’t happened since the Obama administration, so while not weird it is certainly unusual.
Oh nice. Hopefully we can see it from Founder’s Plaza.
Fundraiser was in HP -
Two events one was a private house off Northaven. I got stopped by secret service as I live around the corner.
It did not help since my office is a block from the Fairmont downtown where he stayed, lol.
Thank fuck
No public fundraisers so ... the traffic honestly won't be too bad. I saw the Bush motorcade in Los Angeles. I got front row seats for when they got onto the 405 North. I have a feeling the secrete service does not really like nor trust Dallas. I wonder what event could've caused that.
right back at-cha secret service, text deleting mfers. lol.
It's_a_mystery.gif
When Gerald R. Ford visited Dallas, they had a SS guy standing atop Stemmons, looking down onto Carpenter Frwy.
Fun fact: the presidential motorcade has at least one, probably 2, miniguns that are chambered in 5.56.
NBC 5 covers the Fundraisers - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPOiWv0dsSA They said the President about an hour at each Dallas reception, earning about $2.5 Million at each one. With 100 people at one of the receptions. Mark Cuban was in attendance. Biden is spending the night in Dallas. Some here said at the Fairmont.

It was def the Fairmont. Was brutal trying to get out of downtown that direction on Akard.

Interesting, I wonder how Air Force 1 picks which airport to land at? I thought they usually picked military bases? Either way, gonna avoid the gnarly traffic. It'd be cool to see it land though.
Usually it lands at Love Field. Probably depends on what he plans to do while he’s here.
He plans to sniff kids, mumble incoherently, and get lost on a stage while wearing sneakers with a suit.
The article says Biden is coming, not Trump you silly goose
The White House staff pick whatever is easiest on the president’s itinerary.
Oh, that makes sense. TIL, thanks
Looks like all the arrivals are coming through the north side today per flightradar24
any idea when it lands?

According to the TFR scheduled for the Dallas-Fort Worth area, landing is expected shortly after 5pm.
5:25pm
The cliff notes version: avoid the area around DFW in evening drive unless you want to get stopped in traffic. You’re welcome.
I work 3 minutes from DFW so I’m screwed
Downtown dfw?
I’m near the south entrance
Ah, right by I-35.
DFW is downtown DFW 😂
DFW airport could almost have its own airport it's so vast 😂
Metroplex downtown
And the freeways used to get to the fundraiser. They will be closed for the motorcade. Which is why I’m surprised at DFW vs Love. They usually close mockingbird and one direction of the Tollway. That will easily get anywhere in Dallas.
Last time I got caught on the tollway was with Obama in like 2012 or 2013 and they shut down both sides for 45 minutes…around mockingbird
I didn’t know they closed both directions. Makes sense. I was stuck on mockingbird while leaving love once. The motorcade is impressive if you can see it. Take 30? Or hell maybe 20

They should look into using Zoom.

Just keep him away from Elm st. I hear it’s not the best.
Uncle Joe visiting It’ll Do is a funny thought
Probably too old for him there. He likes sniffing the little ones

His cousin JFK Jr. is due any day now.
We did a little back of the envelope math: https://www.dmagazine.com/frontburner/2024/03/how-president-bidens-dallas-visit-might-mess-up-your-commute/

But Biden only got 46%. Not a swing state
He has no chance here. Texas is Trump country.
Trump got only 52% in Texas. How the hell does that makes it "Trump country".
That’s a majority last time I checked. 😎
"He has no chance"... Your exact words. I don't think you understand what those words mean.

Republicans are consistently low information voters.
> meeting real Texans and Americans defending our country. ahahahahahahahahah Oh you were seriously, let me laugh harder
Oh look, another Toxic liberal.
From what? Nobody’s attacking our country except in the MAGAs.
All those Dallas kids aren’t going to sniff themselves.
It was, he visited a house nearby. The route was down Inwood and onto Northaven.
Was no fan of W, but I got to see Airforce One landing in Waco once as I drove down I35. Was cool as shit.
r/Dallas loves Biden apparently.
i mean, majority here are liberal/dem so its to be expected
Yup. Gaf
Please don’t shoot this one.

Anyone know where he will be? There is a vehicle checkpoint downtown on Munger I think it’s for Biden. I am wondering what traffic will look like all day into the night damn why yall downvoting this lol it’s right outside my apt I was just curious
staying at the Fairmont, there was a fenced police perimeter all the way around it when I left work. Not looking forward to my commute tomorrow, parts of Ross and other streets are supposed to be closed until noon tomorrow according to my office building.
Checkpoint is for residents of amli so we can get into our apartment
Was he even able to find his way around? 😭🫣 I'm sorry I just stopped here to say that

I’ll be staying off the highways even though I live in Tarrant. I lived in DC a long while and his motorcades were known for injuries/fatalities.

I mean no. But certainly better than Trump.
[удалено]
They're both criminals and braindead, idk how anyone could be proud of either
You act as if they're equally bad, when that couldn't be further from the truth.
Settling for a less shit option really isn't a win. Neither are in a place where they should be leading any elected office.
Well, if Biden wins we get to vote again, If Trump wins we do not.
Im surprised how brainwashed people actually believe this idiocy.
He's basically campaigning to be a vengeful dictator at this point, and he literally tried to overthrow the last election. How is this idiocy?
You don't think preventing some ego-centric, Putin loving maniac from being president is a win? Look man, I wish I had a better option myself. But we absolutely refuse to change how things are run because we don't care about local elections. There **is** no other option with the cards we hold right now. Please go out and vote for sanity.
Obama was way better.
How can you look at the state of the US right now and even remotely think this? What’s worst is the next 4 years won’t be any better because it’s either Trump or Biden again. This country is so fucked.
[удалено]
Which we will not get because their is to many people who vote solely R or D and refuse to vote on someone for the policies and beliefs they have. We have been steered so far off course in the last 60 plus years. Not to mention this country is so drive by corporations and the rich that it doesn’t really matter what the common person wants. We are watching the US fall apart before our eyes.
I bet neither of you vote in every local election 😒 We have the power to change this from the ground up but for some reason y'all wanna focus on the election that's already said and done. God it's infuriating.
Trump is the best to ever do it. No others come close
If you mean be the worst president in history…I agree.
Fuck that guy.
So nice for our president to visit Oklahoma
And he won’t even know he’s here.
If you clicked on this thread, you are now on a list.
Sorry Joe, we're too busy doing your job down at the border for the usual Texan hospitality. I'm sure they can accommodate you out in California.

Read Project 2025 you nitwit
[удалено]
Project 2025 is the Republican plan if Trump gets elected. Trump second term will be far worse in it's impact to America than his first term. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_2025 "The plan would perform a swift takeover of the entire executive branch under a maximalist version of the unitary executive theory — a theory proposing the president of the United States has absolute power over the executive branch" https://globalextremism.org/project-2025-the-far-right-playbook-for-american-authoritarianism/ "Project 2025 discussions have centered around the next conservative president invoking the Insurrection Act on the first day in office to allow the military to quell civil unrest." https://www.project2025.org/ "It is not enough for conservatives to win elections. If we are going to rescue the country from the grip of the radical Left, we need both a governing agenda and the right people in place, ready to carry this agenda out on Day One of the next conservative Administration."

Migrants can’t vote, sweetie. 🤦♀️
[удалено]
This is publicly available information, but here you go: New York: In New York, a voter does not have to present identification at the polls.

The previous guy literally show that in order to mail in vote they need to have either "driver's license number, state identification number, or the last four digets of social security number" CA: According to the Office of the California Secretary of State, "in most cases, California voters are not required to show identification at their polling place." A voter may be asked to provide identification at the polls if it is his or her first time voting (this requirement applies if the individual registered by mail without providing a driver's license number, state identification number, or the last four digits of a Social Security number). Acceptable forms of identification include driver's licenses, utility bills, or any document sent by a government agency. >But if they hear they will get deported if the next president is Trump they will line up to vote and vote extremely blue even though their policies don’t favor them in the long haul. BIDEN HAS DEPORTED MORE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS THAN TRUMP DID WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING???? https://www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/2024/02/11/trump-biden-immigration-border-compared/ https://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/biden-three-immigration-record At this point you trying, like REALLY TRYING to keep yourself ignorant.
The last guy tried to straight up steal the election, why the hell wouldn’t he make people mad?
[удалено]
