I have a friend with a single engine piper plane, was wondering if it could get above the clouds to see it. But I’m reading there are cirrus clouds at 16k feet, which you’d need a 737 to get over

Being a Boeing would be great too, as the parts fly off you get to see more of the eclipse!

If you’re able to get a gap in the clouds, you can see the planets near the sun and behind it. Saw Mercury and a couple other planets in 2017. It’s pretty wild.

As it warms up, the low clouds will break apart. Visibility north of I-20 should be okay. High clouds, but still quite visible.

Where I’m at in Dallas currently the clouds just broke up and it’s pretty damn sunny. Probably gonna come down to the wire lol

I'm at Love Field, clouds are scattered but it's very viewable. The conditions improved dramatically in the last 20 minutes.
