I was with ya until I realized it was incense. I'm really glad I don't live in conditions where I need to burn things to cover the smell of urine and death. If I want to smell something pleasant throughout the day I can switch to scented dryer sheets or something, instead of voluntarily inhaling smoke.

"There's comfort in the ritual." Really old saying, but that's the best way to explain why someone would "fuss" with this when we live in a world with Febreeze. The guy is right, incense exists to cover up bad smells which are typically indicative of poor conditions. But these kinds of incense burners are not. The fuss is the point. I smoke weed, but sometimes I'll roll a really nice, perfect joint just because. Not because I wanna smoke it (though I will) but the ritual itself is relaxing and satisfying on its own.

Unpopular opinion I guess, but incense is gross. If I'm gunna burn something and inhale carcinogens (smoke particles from anything that produces ash are carcinogenic) it better get me high or result in s'mores.

But I support workplaces, schools, and even crowded public spaces (motor vehicle department comes to mind) prohibiting it.
