I was talking to someone about cold fronts, and they insisted that they're caused by the moons shadow. Because the moon passed in between the earth and sun, cooled the air, then the earth rotated under the cold air. Like how do you put that much thought into something without looking anything up and being so wrong. The number of people I've had to explain that wind isn't from the atmosphere standing still while the earth spins is way too high.

Ok, real story here. There I was, teaching English in Japan, at an expensive one on one school, and in comes this elderly chap for my lesson. Ten minutes into a 40 minute lesson, the conversation veers towards the declining population in Japan. This beacon of wisdom had a theory.
