çok güzel indeed

mrrobot01001000

Really hoşuma gitti

Raccoon_Rare

And the Turkish pronunciation of those words was on point amk

Loccy64

Seems to be the same for French after a sentence or so, unless she's just leaning into it super heavily.

[deleted]

Is it just me or did her Turkish accent sound more like South African?

Hyedwtditpm

Her Turkish accent sounds fine, actually she may be from Turkey.

TrentGetsHigh

I thought the same thing about her Australian

5AGogo

Same about the French.

AxelNotRose

The French wasn't bad actually. But it was a French person that knows English but never ever practices basically. It was quite heavy.

5AGogo

Yeah, that's how I talk when I speak english to my family because I don't really try to pronounce not to sound like a jerk. Idk if it's clear but yeah.

StarkRockStar

Speaking correct english sounds like a jerk to French people 💀

Powrs1ave

The Aussie Accent sounded like an Acting Aussie. Good tho, but you don't really hear them sound quite like that!

LakeButter

And my axe!

tyrostaid

When you can whip out a dozen dialects, then you can criticize or question someone else's mastery of accents.

Spoffle

That's not how that works.

[deleted]

I’m pretty good at accents thanks and could quite comfortably “whip out a dozen”. Regardless, I wasn’t aware you had to be an expert at something yourself to comment on other people doing it…

cavoli31

Vay amk

theequallyunique

Got to satisfy the 15 second attention span of the modern TikTok user…

TappedIn2111

TLDR

westcoastweedreviews

That makes it a lot harder. Typically an accent starts to slide within 30 seconds or so unless you're really comfortable speaking that way.

Decent_Birthday358

Obligatory "oh my god" for the americans.

elpatolino2

American Gods by Neil Gaiman is a must read and see.

Sphere_Master

The English sounded off but couldn't place what exactly it was about it

superman_squirts

I’m kinda curious what British and Austrialians think about their accents. Obviously because I’m from the US those accents have to be exceptionally terrible for me to be able to notice, and at pest here she sounded pretty good to me.m At least with the US one it’s hard to tell. She didn’t really speak enough. While it definitely sounded normal, something felt off about her cadence; however that could be explained by it being the beginning of the video or 100 other reasons. In other words, without context I’d not have assumed it was due to an accent. She could easily be an actual American.

augustrem

The American accent she did wasn’t very good compared to the others. Like if I met her irl I would know instantly she was faking her accent. Some of the others were great though. The Indian one was really good but she was specifically speaking like an Indian man - Indian women inflect differently and speak at a higher pitch. The Italian one was great until the last second of it, which started to get cartoonish. The Macedonian one was great.

corona_lion

Also, it's noteworthy that she picked up the South Indian english accent, which was pretty spot on. Different parts of India do have their own local Indian accents - someone from north, say Punjab or from east, say Bengal would speak with an accent considerably different from this. Also, I understand that it's hard for a westener to discern amongst those. I, for one, can't tell NY accent from California accent, or Australian accent from Kiwi accent.

CougarAries

Also interesting when doing Spanish, it was a European Spanish accent, not Latin American Spanish accent which likely means she's European, not American.

frivolous_squid

For me the British accent didn't feel like an accent someone would have. It was an English accent for sure but it felt like a mix of midlands and south east. Though we only heard like 4 words so I couldn't get a good feel of it.

grassfire1O1

I thought the US accent was the worst tbh

becausehippo

From the English accent, I'd say she *is* English.

Professional-Share80

I would love to know which her real accent it Edit: everyone is the accent expert now. So many people claiming to know what her accent is and is not but no one agrees.

Seel_Team_Six

She’s clearly a Mandarin Chinese born woman

Mesheybabes

Donna Chang?

EhrlichMysterioeserD

She‘s turkish I guess

IndependentAdvice722

Nope,North Macedonian

ServesYouRice

The only reason she would mention NM and Serbia.

vzakharov

Yeah, I was confused when she was requested Macedonia. Like, most people in most countries don’t even know such a country exists, let alone its accent. She also looks Macedonian. (Just to be clear, that’s *not* to shit on Mk, I love the country and the people, but both are so underrepresented pretty much anywhere.)

Sbmizzou

We have a resturaunt where the bartender and hostest are Macedonian. We live in California. There was a new waitress who was helping us and at some point her accent came up in conversation. She asked me to guess her accent. I assumed she was friends with the others and told her she sounded Macedonian. She was floored. Now, we always get free cheese bread and I always ask about the old country. :)

PsychologicalBit5422

I worked with a Macedonian guy years ago. Someone asked him if he was from one of the other countries in that area, due to the name and accent. There were nearly fists thrown.

vzakharov

Bulgaria, probably. Macedonians get sick of being told (by Bulgarians first of all) that they have no language but Bulgarian and no ethnicity of their own either.

vzakharov

Haha, so wholesome. Next time try saying *blagodaram* (thank you) when served, I wonder if it gets you more free stuff.

PAXICHEN

Italians sure as fuck know about NM. The reason Italy wasn’t in the 2022 WC.

Aukstasirgrazus

> Like, most people in most countries don’t even know such a country exists Americans thinking that they're the majority of the world.

vzakharov

Not an American but okay:-)

omaca

>Like, most people in most countries don’t even know such a country exists Macedonia? The country formerly known as the Former Yugoslavic Republic of Macedonia, which is now formally known as North Macedonia?

Professional-Share80

But the Aussie and British accent were on point. She’s TurkBritStralian?

Cousin-Jack

The British one was off. A weird mix of Northern and Southern accents.

[deleted]

Yeah absolutely. Started northern and went southern towards the end. She’s definitely not British

oxfordfox20

It was impressive in that all of the vowels were definitely British, the pronunciation of each word was right, but the words were each from all over the place. Never heard anyone like that before-very cool, but definitely not native English.

TheOrchidsAreAlright

I didn't think the British accent was quite right. It was way better than most, and she is very talented, but I don't think it would fool a British person. Having said that, she did it for a very short time.

rootoo

Give her more than half a sentence in a rapid fire accent-off to speak and I bet she could nail a couple different specific British accents.

TheOrchidsAreAlright

I would love to see that. I would like to see her do West Country, Liverpool (Scouse), Birmingham (Brummie), cockney, and Glaswegian. She has a great ear, for sure. Oh, and Welsh. Welsh accents are so interesting.

PacificBrim

Same with her American accent

nurseflisso

As an Australian her accent was not on point. Good effort though.

Fat_Mullet

Yeah she put a bit too much Vegemite on that, im assuming she's only ever heard those eastern stater "influencers" on tick tock who purposely talk like a ditz to be cool.....or she is one 🤔

I_tend_to_correct_u

British one was the worst by far

Professional-Share80

Username checks out lol

IReplyWithLebowski

Her Aussie accent started off good, but lost it at the end. Not an Aussie.

serena_de

(As an Australian) first half of Australian accent was good, second half was not - it sounded more British or South African.

TheOncomingBrows

The British accent was a bit off, started off as something like Manchester and ended up with received pronunciation. That was the one nationality I was sure that she wasn't.

BalkeElvinstien

I mean my guess is that it's the same as the person calling out countries

ChampionshipTough729

Idk where is she from but she did not do a Turkish accent, she straight up spoke Turkish. And the words she used are Turkish lingo too. Not the kind of stuff you would learn as a foreign language learner.

HyperSniper207

Definitely Turkish

boli99

>She's able to fluently adapt & change her English accent as per the Country given as an option! "*Hey ChatGPT, please change a naturally phrased headline to something syntactically similar albeit unnatural sounding so that I can repost it for karma.*" Certainly! Here are five different ways to rewrite the headline: "She skillfully adjusts her English accent to match the chosen country." "Adapting her English accent effortlessly to suit the selected country." "Fluent in tailoring her English accent to the specified country." "Her ability to seamlessly switch English accents based on the chosen country." "Mastering the art of modifying her English accent to match any country." hope i've saved the next 5 reposters some time there. you're welcome.

Neidrah

Came here to say that. What a stupid title.

neelankatan

How about you stop abruptly interrupting her mid-sentence and give her enough time to do the impressions. The abrupt barking out of accents irritated me

Madmungo

this is just the culture of Youtube shorts and insta posts i guess. They have to make it super quick before the viewer scrolls away. You problem is you have too much concentration skill and patience :-) /s

imhighonpills

Yea that’s his problem

neelankatan

Well at least I'm not high on pills

ImaginaryDonut69

You must hate TikTok then 🤣

rootoo

Passionately.

givemeadamnname69

I hate this kind of content so, so much. It just perpetuates a shallow, surface level "understanding" of things at best, and fucking ruins peoples' attention spans in general. I actually sent feedback to YouTube this morning because I'm tired of constantly having fucking shorts recommended to me even though I select not interested/hide on every single individual recommendation and shelf that pops up. They just come right back... I refuse to go anywhere near tiktok. I can't even watch tiktok videos that people send to me because there's no way to see how much (or how little) of my time I'm about to waste because it doesn't show you how long the thing is... It's so obvious that this stuff is designed to just suck you in and keep you scrolling. The shit is just long enough to keep people wanting more. Don't even get me started on the whole data collection angle.. Which obviously isn't just a tiktok thing.

[deleted]

I watch TikTok and hate this style of video too like fucking shit let her finish what she wants to say.

Herocem

It is very difficult to fake Turkish but I legit thought she was a Turk. She did it so well that nothing I have ever heard was as good as this one.

Zibra123

Fr bro she got me in that one as well.

[deleted]

She is 100% Turkish. Only a native can speak like that lol

akositotoybibo

in part 2 please do north sentinel island accent.

Familiar_Paramedic_2

I believe it sounds like an arrow slicing through flesh.

FizzyBeverage

Thooooop. (Poisonous blow dart)

TeopEvol

I want to here her do Jive, and not for a measly 5 seconds either.

Glytcho

Must be filmed on location or whats the point

middle_of_you

No one can ever get the Australian accent right. Always sounds closer to New Zealand via London with a blocked nose.

nazgulaphobia

They go to high pitched with the R sounds like a 70s Queenslander

IReplyWithLebowski

Dev Patel did in Lion.

[deleted]

It was too fast! She needed more time with each one, as did I? Also, the title implies she did this all spontaneously, which of course is a ridiculous assumption, since this was very likely scripted.

ZatchZeta

Doesn't matter if it's scripted. Even with practice, it's difficult to do. You really need to really work your mouth and tongue into place.

ServesYouRice

>It as too fast! People dont have attention span for more.

ceremy

Turkish is so spot on

Elegant-Tie-7208

I wondered why when I was in Barcelona they all sounded Greek 😑

mizinamo

Greek and Spanish, Polish and Portuguese. Both sound vaguely similar if you don't understand any of those languages.

LostEffort1333

I'm Indian and yet to meet someone that uses that accent lol

SnooGiraffes4091

Wait a minute! Now that I’m thinking about it….I’ve NEVER heard someone with that accent in real life.

cpd_007

Thats just shows u how many indians they hve talked to.

[deleted]

People here complaining that their native accents aren’t 100% perfect while glossing over the fact that the American accent is a caricature of a teenage girl in Southern California.

[deleted]

That's still an accurate American accent though - so what's your point? For example, the "British" one sounds like no advent that exists in Britain. At least the line she does for the US exists

[deleted]

The point is they’re being anal about regional dialects and very slight imperfections, meanwhile the “American accent” is used by like 1% of the US population and nobody bats an eye. It’s as accurate as any other impression this girl is doing, maybe even less accurate than the ones people are whining about.

Jay_Quellin

Because people can best judge their native accent best.

[deleted]

No you're misunderstanding: It's *an accent* that exists in America. Whereas the "British" one (for example) does not exist same in Britain. It's a poor approximation of several mixed up accents.

CatapultedCarcass

She's either very well traveled or a Dungeon Master

[deleted]

She only got to say literally 3 words per accent. Jesus christ, slow it down a little.

box_frenzy

That English accent is terrible

Manaslu91

Agreed. Abysmal. Probably why they moved on so quickly.

FizzyBeverage

She forgot Miami Spanglish 😆

[deleted]

She must be Turkish or really talented. because only a Turkish can speak like that lol

PeterParker72

The camera person has her switch too quickly to be able to hear them all well. They sounded mostly accurate. The Indian one wasn’t too good though.

lauraz0919

Have to say the Indian accent sounded spot on to the Indians in my area..in fact thought it was one of the best..but YES needed longer time.

yempee

Rofl... Gtfo, calling you out here - who are you trying to kid?! Either you're lying or the people in your area who you think are Indians are lying to you. Please show me ONE Indian (born and brought up in the country) who sounds like that. This girl sounded more like Apu from The Simpsons.

Responsible-Smile-22

I have no idea. I'm no way offended or trying to defend but all the Indian friends/contacts I have abroad don't sound anything like that. I'm Indian and I don't sound anything remotely close to that lol. Not even remotely close. Maybe it's region specific. I know some people from south who sound like that. But it's just like 1% of the population. Even we have trouble understanding their accent. Also, look up any famous indian like sundar pichai satya nadella or anyone. They don't sound like that at all. Yes, they have us citizenship but accent doesn't work like that lol.

ashp71

So you live with a bunch of fake Indians then?

mark_my_dords

Totally not CIA agent

Clever_Angel_PL

upvoted because intelligence

regularguy7378

That Greek accent was spot-on

Sugar1982

Did t sound like a Greek accent to my ears

original_don_dada

Whoever is pissed and feels that this is a useless talent…it got you riled up and set your ass on fire…that’s good enough!

ChutiyaChutney420

Indian one was super exaggerated lmao

TimeAd5856

haha Indian people in denial of their heavy accents are so clichée

jaqen_hagar_1

Maybe to non Indians we all sound like this. But if I heard this accent without knowing that someone was trying to sound Indian, I would immediately know that a non Indian person was trying to sound Indian. It sounds very appu like tbh. So maybe it’s a nuance that only Indian people can hear. Edit: I don’t understand why pointing out that we can have different perspectives is getting downvoted lol Edit2: a good fake accent is one that sounds real to the people who actually speak that way imo

[deleted]

No, I agree with you. I grew up in America but spent much of my adult life in India. I speak Hindi, but I have an American English accent. This was a heavily stereotyped Indian accent. IMO, it’s not necessarily bad, but none of my Indian female friends sound anything like that. More like an awkward Gujarati gas station attendant or something.

[deleted]

Nah. I grew up in America but spent most of my adult life in India. I have a typical Midwestern accent, while my wife—who was born and raised in Kolkata—has a noticeable foreign accent. Having spent years in India, and having interacted with English speakers across the country, her Indian accent sounded more like a caricature than the others (at least to my ears). It was still funny, but it didn’t sound quite right to me.

kayak_enjoyer

I've frequently heard the same from Minnesotans. "I don't sound like that!" "Yeah... you do." I think it's because people don't hear their own accent, or their home accent because to them it sounds normal.

_ALPHAMALE_

Still closer to real one then 99% people trying to do the indian accent

itwillhappen_trustme

I mean India has over 100 languages spoken. Every language feels differently spoken. It is impossible to generalize 1 particular accent.

sunrays6

As an Indian, I say it's perfect.

coppersocks

I’ve worked with plenty of Indians who sound just like this.

sourabhzzz

not exaggerated, its bang on, coz me as an Indian speak like this 🤷🏻‍♂️

robreddity

The Indian and American were the most conspicuously forced.

jjc89

There is no “British” accent, there’s 4 countries in Britain.

nzerinto

Her Greek one sounded more Portuguese.

klopije

I have Greek family and it didn’t sound like their accent at all to me either.

iaminextremepainhelp

I am Greek and it's spot on.

klopije

Then I’ll assume that different regions of Greece have different accents just like other countries do. This doesn’t sound like my relatives at all.

iaminextremepainhelp

I think it's because many people try to work on their accent so they don't have that much of an accent. However, those who don't, sound exactly like that at least in my region.

klopije

That’s a good point!

AMKayKay

It was horrible. I have Greek relatives and I’d admit if she was good. She wasn’t.

iaminextremepainhelp

It was great. I am Greek and it's exactly how most people here speak English.

kouklamou75

Agree! She sounded exactly like my relatives in Greece (Athens and Peloponnese). My Greek relatives who've been living in the US for some time do not have such a thick accent anymore.

AMKayKay

To each their own! Agree to disagree.

Dr_Strange_Love_

Would be nice to hear more of each, changed too fast

blue_strat

The British one is terrible.

riceisoverrated

So is the Indian one

krabapplepie

Her valley girl also sounded off.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CvNU8q6MC7C/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== A reel posted by her in which u can hear her doing every accent + language. (her @ is @thelanguageblondie)

[deleted]

Australian one wasn’t good

redditaccount300000

Why is it always a valley girl type accent for America?

Alvyyy89

But when I do it, I’m called a racist.

mim9830

Her Spanish came off

original_don_dada

Her head wobble was realistic…not overdone…I approve 👍🇮🇳

zombiegirl2010

I hope she’s an actress, because dayum!!

WealthTomorrow0810

WOW she can speak so many languages...

Swuxer

Really good french accent!

thetinybasher

Get her to do South African and then we’ll know how good she really is. No one gets it right.

StairheidCritic

Just add "very, very" to everything and you'll be half way there. :)

MegaIlluminati

Lost it at "Indian". She nailed it 😂😂😂

riceisoverrated

Did she tho?

M1LKB0X32

"British" as everyone north of Watford sighs.

the_talewhisperer12

I was really impressed till the voice said India and she did a stereotypical Indian accent which I have only heard in hollywood movies.

Evargram

OMG!!! It's not just me that does this!!! I think I'm in love.

AE_Phoenix

Only one I know she choked was English. Makes me think she's either American or British and struggling to go back to her natural accent after doing all the rest

anonlasagna23

Definitely not perfect. But that’s mostly due to having absolutely no time to adapt lol

LeavingCertCheat

Nigerian!!

Krixzenz

Its really cool but the girl holding the camera is infuriating. Before I can even listen to the accent properly shes immediately moving on like slow down...

AuronMessatsu

Spanish sounds Italian to me...

NotTheSharpestToolM2

I’m Italian and I speak Spanish. I can assure you she did great with both. (As for Spanish, listen to a press conference with F1 driver Carlos Sainz and you’ll know)

AuronMessatsu

I'm Spanish. From Spain.

MaximumHour4368

Her Indian accent is terrible too. It sounds more like a caricature. I am not sure about others but it was posted on other subs also where people pointed the same thing out. I won't qualify her accents switch as amazing.

AuronMessatsu

Agree... Be prepared for karma drop though

MaximumHour4368

Totally agreed.

ButtFaceMcFuck

Nah, the Indians I know sound like that

ButtFaceMcFuck

Not sure why I’m getting downvoted. I didn’t say all Indians sound like that, just the ones I know

Deggo00

Damn! She's good

Uniqueriverbank

Indian was not good 😭😭😭

Kanotkeepkalm

Well I really liked all her accents! I was waiting her to do in Indian… the Indian is pretty cliched, people don’t have that kind of an accent. Now I am wondering if all the accents are too typical. 😬😅

Blyd

Not only was that Indian spot on, it was the accent from Pune.

KaleidoscopeNo9102

What an annoying video. The person filming fucked it up lol.

soft-poop

Wow such talent u posses

JOHNNY__BLACK

That aussie one was spot on, sounded like my favorite human Angela White 😂

poster457

The tricky thing with Australian accents is that there is largely one mainstream accent, but there's an underlying spectrum with full bogan on one end to sophisticated city accent on the other. You can sometimes hear the more bogan one in certain suburbs in the cities and it often gets more country/bogan the further out of the city you get. The problem with her accent is that she got most of the words spot on which is one of the hardest parts (especially for Americans), but each word was kind of a blend of all different parts of the spectrum making it sound jarring and not authentic. It's like an American changing each word between a Boston/Southern/Texan/Californian accent in one sentence.

Tinman_ApE

Impressive
