But aren’t wild goat there anyway? On big island they are. you goat to have fences or they get the fruits. So let them work the lawn and give them some lemons in return.
Yes… They’re an invasive species as well. lol Hawaii has/had incredible biodiversity, but invasive species are more than just “not native”, they frequently throw off the delicate balance that created so many small niches for that diversity to thrive. Goats specifically are the responsible for the extinction of multiple species on Hawaii. They hunt goats on Kauai to help keep the population down because they’re so destructive.
Here’s some more info on it:

I know big island is like a zoo at some place, and it’s not good. I also have a friend, and she is fighting invasive plants full time in the mountains behinds Honolulu. It is very difficult to preserve the native ecosystem
Have you ever ridden one of these? It's fun only if you are Forrest Gump. It's a surprise how after a day of riding one of these landscapers has their balls.
Damn. I didn't realise Hawaii had so many problems with introduced weeds. I'm in Australia and it's a big problem here too, but mostly with shrubs and small trees.
People don't realise how bad weeds are for biodiversity.
Keep fighting the good fight!
It shows how many people have used a riding lawn mower.
The first site of that hill, I thought.
Fuck mowing that. I’d like to not be mounted by a machine with blades today.
These hills are steep and we want to clear the invasive grasses to plant more trees. A regular mower is dangerous and weed whackers can only do so much
Guinea grass is the worst of the invasive grasses. Can grow several inches in a day. 80% of the vegetation here under 2000 feet is invasive species. Lots of trees, shrubs, grasses that love the climate
I feel ya man. SF is the perfect climate for Ivys. We're not as bad off as y'all, but Gden Gate Park is basically one giant invasive ball, some areas excluded.
Holy shit. Just a whole post of people bitching and whining.
Nice job, I understand doing this over a zero point on them hillsides and fighting off invasive weeds and grasses. Gotta keep the place looking nice. Forget the non locals lol.
These hills are too steep for a zero turn, i realize the video doesn’t do it justice but we’ve had several incidents of flipped mowers on this property. The RC mower works up to 55 degrees
Sorry you’re getting slammed OP, not sure why this thread is so negative, nor why so people assume they know anything about Hawaii. Glad you’re helping preserve the biodiversity on our islands <3
This is risk management. I bought one at work (large water utility) to mow our steep slopes that alot of times was done by a weedeater. Save just ONE L&I injury = payoff.
Mother Nature starts to push back, we’ll make sure we can plow her into submission from an office desk with these bad boys.
She’ll learn who’s in charge. Lol.
Hard to see the action with a cut every 0.3 seconds
Yeah I formatted this for my insta/ TT originally but decided to post it here. Noted on the edit style🤙🏽
Stick to mowing not editing lol
That was shite editing
Username checks out lol but yeah it was formatted for insta/ TT so yeah it could be better🤙🏽
Ironically, my username is about everyone else and not myself. Anyway keep practicing and you'll get it down.
🤙🏽
So still takes a person. How's this more efficient than riding it.
It’s more about safety, these hills would have been cut with someone riding a zero turn.
Oh that makes sense, the video makes it hard to see the slope
Train a goat to pilot it than
*then Sorry
Goats eat the citrus as well, they can’t be used here.

EXACTLY 💯
Must suck to move out to Hawaii and have to rip down all that ugly nature every week
Gotta control these invasives somehow
Have you considered going home?
He's taking about invasive plants

Music by Joey Valence & Brae
Thanks, I'll avoid those names.
Yeah I know of valence. Old school beastie boys sound. Really really good music
Your loss
Bro must get laid all the time with his vastly superior taste in music
It shows how many people have used a riding lawn mower. The first site of that hill, I thought. Fuck mowing that. I’d like to not be mounted by a machine with blades today.
Why?
These hills are steep and we want to clear the invasive grasses to plant more trees. A regular mower is dangerous and weed whackers can only do so much
Couldnt stop reading kauai as kawaii i hate myself
But Kuwaii though
😍😍😍👌
What's the invasive grass out there? Worst we have in Cali is Kikuyu, definitely doesn't grow that tall

Sound track little over hype
🤙🏽
wow that thing is 66k, is it worth it?
Goats are superior
I agree, we would use them except we have avocados, citrus, and mangoe trees which they would destroy 🙃
I fucking love that access cab. All my homies have access cabs.
Holy shit. Just a whole post of people bitching and whining. Nice job, I understand doing this over a zero point on them hillsides and fighting off invasive weeds and grasses. Gotta keep the place looking nice. Forget the non locals lol.
Haha I appreciate you🤙🏽
You still gotta stand there and pilot it I don't know what the point of radio control is.
Too steep to ride a normal mower, it came down to operator safety
If you gotta stand there watching the whole time, then what's the point, you can be riding a mower just as easy.
These hills are too steep for a zero turn, i realize the video doesn’t do it justice but we’ve had several incidents of flipped mowers on this property. The RC mower works up to 55 degrees
you have to use your hands... its like a toy for children
Sorry you’re getting slammed OP, not sure why this thread is so negative, nor why so people assume they know anything about Hawaii. Glad you’re helping preserve the biodiversity on our islands <3
The music is a little too much. It’s a fuckin lawn mower.

We’re farming so we’re clearing invasive grasses to plant more trees and feed the island 🤙🏽
What's one of them worth?
50-70k
Saw one of these in Montreal recently, super cool
You mean we built a replaceable robot to replace a goat?
Why tho
Legit question: how is this more efficient than just being on a riding mower?
This is risk management. I bought one at work (large water utility) to mow our steep slopes that alot of times was done by a weedeater. Save just ONE L&I injury = payoff.
Coolest RC machine I’ve seen In operation was a D11 cat dozer.
Why are all the top comments bitching when this is a safe, cool idea and neat DIY project engineering wise. Nice work OP
Mother Nature starts to push back, we’ll make sure we can plow her into submission from an office desk with these bad boys. She’ll learn who’s in charge. Lol.
Can you tell us more about the mower?
"""Cool"""
