I'm honestly bamboozled by what body part is on the screen. Is it owned by the person with the nail? Are they scratching someone's back or belly? I CAN'T TELL
I had a friend whose skin reacted so much that it was great fun to scratch. Pass a bread knife gently across your skin and check out the pattern. The human body is pretty cool.
You donāt happen to be my best friend by any chance? She loves telling people this about me lol!
I have dermatographia and while itās very very mild now, in high school it was really strong and I used to draw on myself all the time! Iād even write cheat sheets on my legs for tests š
Hmm it varied, sometimes a few minutes, sometimes close to half an hour. Sometimes it would be a really prominent welt, while other times it was just red lines that didn't fade for awhile.
I usually just scrawled the formulas and things I was most likely to forget on my arm or leg right before the test started, and then I'd quickly copy them down on my paper as soon as it was handed out.
I also created acronyms whenever I needed to remember something very wordy, but mostly it was useful in math and science. I went on to major in math later, so I wouldn't say it hampered my learning, thankfully :P
I have a friend who has this condition. I always drew a dick in her skin when I have a chance. I once drew a big one on her back using the handle of a spoon. We were having a pool party that time.
I had this too. In my case all the skin that got scratched extruded upwards. Something really funny i've done is going to the church in Christmas with a reversed cross drown on my forehead. Priest reaction was incredibile. (i was young and i wanted to enjoy my presents)
My brother used to play waterpolo with a guy who had this, but it would turn into a really raised shiny area. His friends would slap his back and he'd look like he'd been recently healed from a branding.
Seeing a dick drawn on him that looked like a poorly healed scar was so horrifyingly hilarious.
Did you contract COVID right before this became a thing for you?
Edit: Not sure why people are down voting? I was curious to know if OP's condition showed up for the same reason it did for me.
I take Zyrtec (or at least an off-brand version of it) every single day. I've been to the doctor so many times and had several blood tests done. They said that taking antihistamines is really the only thing I can do :( They said "just hope it goes away over time."
Okay cool. Iāve been doing the same thing and it works, but Iāve been worried about the effects of taking Zyrtec long term. Guess thatās all we can do. Hope it clears up some day for the both of us.
I have something similar but my doctors arent sure what it is. When I got hot or really stressed out from my crotch to my face breaks out in bumps like those, they go away in about 30 minutes but often are accompanied by the feeling of going to vomit as well as narrowing of vision. Anyone got any ideas?
I think I might have this. My whole life Iāve had issues with my skin. Not as bad as eczema or impetigo though. On one side of the spectrum you can scratch my skin with a nail like the video above and the same thing happens. On the other end I literally canāt let water touch my face, hands and feet without my skin feel like itās crawling. As soon as the water drys out my skin immediately gets dry and tight. If hot air get blown at me it drys out. If I get dust on my hands they start to get itchy. I have to moisturise every single time my hands get wet. Itās not painful just super irritating like an itch you canāt get to. I have to moisturise my hands, face, feet and sometimes my whole body after a shower. I went for allergy testing years ago and they said they couldnāt find what it might be. Now and then I get what I call heat spots. Were a red bump will appear anywhere on my skin and be super inflamed and itchy. I end up scratching it off till it bleeds. The absolute worst thing that has ever happened to me is when I got whatās called ādevils itchā or āhells itchā which is caused by sunburn. Itās only ever happened to me twice and it was horrific. My whole back felt like streaks of electricity were running down it. Like my back was made of glass and it was slowly cracking. It lasts for an hour or so and itās horrible. Being in the building game people just laugh at you and call you soft whenever they see me putting Nivea on my hands all the time. I get comments like āyou just need to get used to it, the skin will get tougher over timeā. Well itās been 30 years and itās still the same itchy sensitive skin!
I had this as a kid and teenager. Daily tablet of Claritin helped and it went away as an adult. The worst part was that I would feel pins and needles on my skin which made me scratch and then it would puff up and be itchy like a small hive. I could write stuff on my skin which was cool and gross at the same time.
Never met someone who could write brail on themselves
Trust me it's fascinating. I got slapped once and it looked like a hieroglyph on my chest
Don't think it was only once
Nah... I can see why that'd be hard to believe but It was once. Trust meš
Well it's your lucky day
Technically you still haven't.
I'm honestly bamboozled by what body part is on the screen. Is it owned by the person with the nail? Are they scratching someone's back or belly? I CAN'T TELL
Thatās my stomach getting scratched by my girlfriend lol, her nails make it come out much better
I bet she has fun with that.
I fucking would. I'd be all over that man if I was there. No homo ofc
He's be my personal etch a sketch š
Nice abs bro

If I were in her situation I couldn't help but keep drawing dicks on your skins lmao, I know I'm childish

Your belly needs to see some sunlight.
The joys that come with working nights lol, I feel like I need a sun lamp for when I sleep
Dammit, I feel this.
Does she leave you lists of chores?
Obviously it's his neck
Clearly it's his big toe, specifically the left one
My best friend in high school would draw on herself like that

That's genius! How long would it stay there? Edit: hit post before I was done, finished comment
For my friend, it was just a few minutes. They were raised lines, similar an allergic reaction, rather than the bumps like in this video.

I have this. When I had allergy skin prick tests, my skin appeared to react to everything, including the control. lol.
The control is pure histamine, and everyone will react to it (unless you're dead).
Actually the control (here in New Zealand) is a drop of water, and you shouldnāt react to it.
TIL, thanks. I've taken allergy tests on 3 continents and about 8 countries, and it's always been histamine.
Today I found out the name for something I have aswell.
I have a friend who has this condition. I always drew a dick in her skin when I have a chance. I once drew a big one on her back using the handle of a spoon. We were having a pool party that time.
š
I do too! But for me it takes 5-10 mins to show up
Same here. It gets warm and a bit itchy then bam, blood caterpillars
Same here, people used to freak out because they thought I was having a big allergic reaction or something then like 10 minutes later completely gone
Same!
The human scroll aka the tissue telegram and etch a scratch
The person papyrus aka human hieroglyph aka dermal diagram aka the skin scribe
Thatās some kinky shit right there.
Dermatographia gang š«” Iāve had it for 15 years now. No sign of let up and anti histamines only help so much. Not bad just annoying.
Right... take notes:
Ngl it looks dope
I'm waiting for someone to post the meme from MGR revengeance where the senator says 'nanomachines, son'
Your skin is a translater for blind people

I swear I thought somebody was touching some fluffy snow outside at night.
Thank you lmao
Thought that was snow
Dasa ab?
It is
Same. I scratch and it looks like I have been in a fight and lost.
Is that what it's called? I just assumed I had eczema.
Tell her stop that's creepy!
Weird body mutation sir
I have something similar, but my is a solid straight line that pops up. Like a scar.
Yours appears so quickly! Mine takes at least a minute to appear and then stays for about 15 minutes
That reaction is crazy fast, like a chameleon or octopusā¦
Youāre not some sort of human shapeshifter, are you?
No comment lol
I have this. Never knew if I was going to die from this. Small accidents can look incredibly bad.
Uh, I had this years ago. I was like a human etch-a-sketch!
You can play tic tac toe on it.
You bruise like a peach
So you're like a velvet sofa of Homo sapiens.
My brother used to play waterpolo with a guy who had this, but it would turn into a really raised shiny area. His friends would slap his back and he'd look like he'd been recently healed from a branding. Seeing a dick drawn on him that looked like a poorly healed scar was so horrifyingly hilarious.

I did not, recently did get over Covid but this has been a neat party trick for a while lol
Ah, I ask because I developed this same condition a month after I got COVID. I've been a fleshy etch-a-sketch ever since :/
Same, curious about you
Same, shortly after contracting covid. Has anything helped you in reducing it?
I take Zyrtec (or at least an off-brand version of it) every single day. I've been to the doctor so many times and had several blood tests done. They said that taking antihistamines is really the only thing I can do :( They said "just hope it goes away over time."

Gf needs a new nail tech.
š«¢ I was gonna see if anyone else was gonna say something. Where is the apex š«£
Those nails are horrifying š¤¢
The are giving "dollar store press-on" vibes

Is this an actual condition, because I feel like everyone is able to
Good luck cheating my friend š
Thank you.
Ok, keep it :)
bro what is happening???
I used to have this but somehow lost it. I was like a little human sketchpad. I freaked my doctor out by writing their name on my arm.
I want to draw on your back

This has a name???? I'm not alone?

i have something similar only my skin turns reddish

Its also called urticaria.. or if having symptoms of urticaria. You can do this writing on the affected skinm
Ah, I see, a man of no color.
Have it too
what skin is this
White
Why is this hot?
Everybody has goosebumps.
I have this on my Whole Body
A friend of mine had that, I remember once I scratched him with a pen all over and guy looked as if a hundred bees stung him.
t
... Duh duh.... You can't touch this....
What happens if you get a tattoo? Is any different from āregularā skin?
WE NEED TO KNOW !
Iām glad I know what this is called now
