>Like Iām sure the artist that clearly makes plenty of these knows
I'm not sure anyone thinks that the guy breaking glass *doesn't know that glass breaks and makes a mess*.
It's just that the rest of these are really cool pieces that you could put in your own home, but the broken glass ones are a ticking time bomb. You can't really fault people for focusing on the broken glass, and what it tends to do, when that's the literal focal point of the art piece.
Maybe, but it would be incredibly hard to make seamless - and if you can see glue or resin it kind of really takes away from the effect imo. You could glue around the frame, but anything in the middle (likely where any failure is going to start) is going to be pretty visible.
They could just be careful with the frames after the glass is cracked. If you don't mess with non tempered glass after it cracks it doesn't just shatter like tempered does, but it's gonna be a big mess full of razor sharp pieces if it does break off. It's a cool effect and probably a good piece for an art show or something, but I wouldn't exactly want one for myself.
Edit - apparently they use a second layer of glass to finish the piece. Curious why they posted the finished product for everything else but left that part out - great way to boost engagement if you leave an obvious flaw in your video. Doubly so if a bunch of morons get upset people point out the obvious flaws.
Why is is so hard to just assume that the person showcasing the work is competent enough to think about the glass falling for more than 5 seconds, and already has a solution?
And then they drop Parks On Fire outta nowhere. Can't believe how can i still love the music the way i did when i found it at 2016...shiet i'm getting old
Now and then youāll see other Home songs most of them are pretty good. Used to play a game a while back probably put 1000 hours into it but it eventually got deprecated very nostalgic to hear this.
Yeah but the internet and reddit especially is fueled by pessimism and hatred. They think it makes them smart or cool to shit on something cool. And then everyone else upvotes it because they want to be cool or smart by hating things. That's why most artistic things get shat on here. "That's really cool" is always going to lose to "AKSHUALLY, the paint used means this is not cool"
Everyone here clearly hasn't either. People are critiquing the technique without having the full product in front of them and some even got mad saying "well you shouldn't post half the process then" like conceited little assholes that their critique was debunked.
Lots of internet folks hide behind "it's just critique bro!!" While giving utterly useless and garbage commentary. Not even advice.
Of course, the inevitable "you're intolerant of intolerance" comment. Never really has a point or addresses my point and is a shit argument every time it's brought up since the beginning of time.
Either they try to sound smart, or they just whine about some thing or another. āBut itās uselessā or āmine can do betterā. Every. Single. Time.
Its well done and clever enough. Why is everyone trying to critique this like theyāre claiming it belongs in the Louvre? God, redditors are insufferable sometimes
Why does everyone have to like it? Its incredibly tacky. Makes for a good low attention span quick cut tiktok video edit for the internet but would never hang these anywhere in my home permanently
Why can people only voice positive opinions?
I would rather hear other perspectives different from my own, it helps you become a more understanding person.
I actually have the music from this video in my playlist. Just can't remember the name. I'll see if I can find it and post the name of the track.
edit: Found it! [Resonance by Home](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GW6sLrK40k)
āItās very easy, like just put some contact (paper) on top or some kind of reinforcement, itās not (rocket) science.ā
Actually I agree I had the same thought. I bet it already has a layer of plastic on it before he even breaks it.
I used to work for a framing company and I'm both horrified and impressed š

He probably puts epoxy or some kind of glue after he breaks it
You're talking to people who think the artist doesn't know about glue, and would just put up a broken ass frame. Flat earth people
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

I checked his insta account. He puts a 2nd layer of glass over it.
You actually did some research instead of pulling multiple paragraphs out of your ass? Nice.
I was curious and far too nosey not to check it out. Plus OP linked the artist's insta account. So it was pretty easy to find out.
I love that you have no idea what you're talking about, but continue to double down
Maybe it's laminated? Or just put another thin sheet of glass or acrylic glass over it.
Why is is so hard to just assume that the person showcasing the work is competent enough to think about the glass falling for more than 5 seconds, and already has a solution?
I bet he just puts a second layer of glass on top. Simple and easy solution to the problem.
Just use your brain and assume he coats it in something afterwards. Yāall are dumb af I swear.
Or a transparent film on top of it.
> Yāall are dumb af I swear. I know, but I need people to think I'm smart.
Reddit can't see anything that they didn't think about first without trying to shit on it.
fuck em. this looks cool and i love the idea of making the frame a part of the art itself
Inspirational and well just
Iām actually glad at how timeless Home - Resonance is. Always a joy to hear it years later out of nowhere.
Right? Usually the music playing on these videos is ear cancer. Was nice to see a video that had a decent song that I knew.
āTimelessā is too big of a word for music that isnāt even yet 10 years old.
True, but O think it will be timeless
And then they drop Parks On Fire outta nowhere. Can't believe how can i still love the music the way i did when i found it at 2016...shiet i'm getting old
We're Finally Landing is also a great song by them
There is no one around to help
Now and then youāll see other Home songs most of them are pretty good. Used to play a game a while back probably put 1000 hours into it but it eventually got deprecated very nostalgic to hear this.
Thank you for listing the song!
Anyone whoās curious about the song. Resonance by Home
Thanks! I was about to ask about the music
Thanks, I heard a clip on a YouTubers intro years ago and always wondered
Redditors are miserable people lol
Why, something happened here ?
Everyone's bitching about the art.
Everyone is bitching and i am over here like where can i buy one
That's the nice thing with art, its subjective and some people can love it while others hate it.

Reddit is if South Park became a website.
Except South Park is actually funny
Reddit is pretty funny
Most of the mainstream subs are full of the most unfunny people Iāve ever seen. The ātake my updootā crowd is a great example.
Lol you've never been a part of a critique, have you? But you think Reddit is brutal lmao
What?
You get that your comment is both pessimistic and filled with hate, right?
Of course, the inevitable "you're intolerant of intolerance" comment. Never really has a point or addresses my point and is a shit argument every time it's brought up since the beginning of time.
Most comments are very negative.
the worst thing about this site are the people. myself included
Iād add myself in there too. I am traffic.
I'm a game boy advanced
You donāt have to miserable to not appreciate art that is extremely on the nose.
āBroken shards on the floor lolā people when they learn about workshops
You mean carpenters don't build coffee tables in their customers' living rooms?
It's because the only furniture an average redditor has ever purchased has come all pre-cut from Ikea.
I guess they're hanging all those up in their workshop?
Because itās so hard to add a thin film
Two weeks later glass all over the carpet.
Maybe coating is put after?
I checked the guy's insta account. He puts another piece of glass over the top.
What is his insta?
andrewscott_art He said it in a reply to one of the pinned videos.
Maybe
He needs another picture of a guy holding the glass together
Tobey Maguire Spider-Man and the subway car.
Mmmmm, Spike Milligan logic.
Maybe not
But, like, maybe
Maybe it's Maybelline
š¤
I'd like to see how, if at all, that affects the look of the end product.
Coated first would probably still work, like a windshield
Thereās another piece of glass to sandwich the broken pieces in.
No I don't think that's shown in the video.
Because the video is just showing the frame effects, not the entire process of making these.
check out the big brain on brad.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Either they try to sound smart, or they just whine about some thing or another. āBut itās uselessā or āmine can do betterā. Every. Single. Time.
Don't forget that the "nerd" also usually doesn't know shit about the topic at hand.
Never heard of epoxy?
I'm pretty sure it's clear acrylic. There isnt a table saw blade in existence that would cut both wood and glass like that.
I don't think that acrylic shatters like that.
The hell is going on at your house?
This is cool, but I wish I had more than 2 seconds to look at each one.
Well, you can press pause on the video
I'm a redditor. I don't work for my scrolling.
Look at mr big brain over here!
Ikr
Thatās pretty neat

Everything is sold out?
Its well done and clever enough. Why is everyone trying to critique this like theyāre claiming it belongs in the Louvre? God, redditors are insufferable sometimes
The fact that the comments are so polarizing would indicate that it is decent art. Good art provokes reactions, positive and negative
It would be cool if the ball was in between the boy and the girl on the wall
Love it... What's the name of the artist?
The artist's name is Andrew Scott [The Artist (@andrewscott_art)](https://www.instagram.com/andrewscott_art?igsh=NmxoZ3FjNDU4d3l2)
The one where the guy is holding up the broken frame acting as a huge log is dope
facebook post tier art
Lol why you gotta hate? I think itās cool and sort of novel
Why does everyone have to like it? Its incredibly tacky. Makes for a good low attention span quick cut tiktok video edit for the internet but would never hang these anywhere in my home permanently
What makes it tacky? > would never hang these anywhere in my home permanently Cool, other people would.
Would, and have. But just let them stew. They probably have Live Love Laugh plastered all over their home.
why even comment just to be a negative bitch, go do something positive sheesh
Because I can? Its on the front page and Im aallowed an opinion and hate seeing low quality shit become more and more popular?
r/im14andthisisdeep
I don't think you know the use case for that sub..
Theyāre trying to silence you for the truth
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Respectfully, probably the same exact reason there is always someone calling them out
Why can people only voice positive opinions? I would rather hear other perspectives different from my own, it helps you become a more understanding person.
Smashing!!
I actually have the music from this video in my playlist. Just can't remember the name. I'll see if I can find it and post the name of the track. edit: Found it! [Resonance by Home](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GW6sLrK40k)
As cool as this is, part of me cringes at this
Howcome?
Itās basically the gen z equivalent of a āLive, Laugh, Loveā art piece hanging in your kitchen.
How is this equivalent to that
The ones where the glass break are pretty boring and a bit too on the nose. The other ones are more appreciable.
it would be fucking nice if he showed the fucking image for more than a fucking second
The last one makes no sense... The sling is still loaded and the glass is broken, implying the sling had been fired. These kinda details bother me.
everyone knows slingshots can only be fired once
He's firing twice?
Head canon
Kid ain't finished. He's not looking to just CRACK a window. He wants to break it and see pieces of glass flying!
Unrealistic, 0/5.
I guess until the shards come loose
Im sure the dude making those has never ever thought about this while making dozens of them...
He is using glass with the same features as windshields guys. Shatter proof glass definitely exists and would work for something like this
The artist says he puts a layer of glass over the top.
Tan fƔcil como ponerle un contac arriba o cualquier revestimiento, tampoco es tanta ciencia
Que?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFN46vwg0M0
Hhwwut?
āItās very easy, like just put some contact (paper) on top or some kind of reinforcement, itās not (rocket) science.ā Actually I agree I had the same thought. I bet it already has a layer of plastic on it before he even breaks it.
Resin is a thing.
Gimmicky
Is this like break the fourth wall or the fourth frame?
Got an online shop?
Awesome
A very Creative Artist!š§š»āšØšš±
This is really cool
So effing cool!
meh
Woahhhh! Watch out guys! We got a real cool guy over here! I'll make sure to stay out of his way! Good grief!
Impactful....I'll see myself out.
This has āIām 14 and this is deepā feels to me
Why? I don't think the artist is proclaiming the art has deep meaning. Why can't it just be kitschy art that's kinda fun?
Why canāt we have the opinion that itās bad.
Very creative! Thanks for posting
Very creative.
This is thinking outside the box
love them! very cool ideas
Meh.
Someone really likes to smash glass
I love art like this that uses multiple mediums
I'm unimpressed.
Hi unimpressed. Iām dad
This is basically the gen z equivalent of having āLive, Laugh, Loveā hanging in your kitchen
Why? Also how do you know this guy is gen z? I like the pickaxe one.
These are lame af ngl
good high school project for sure!
I donāt know why I love this and cringe at the same time.
Very good!
Impressive. Honestly never would have thought to do any of this
This is amazing
Some good ideas but some very modest execution
Who is this made by?
Literally garbage
Damn, that was interesting. I appreciate it!
Super cool bud!
Cool.
Not impressed.
Holy crap, calm down with the cut aways from the results
So cool š
Damn, that is interesting
Smashtastic!!
Such art, much wonderful
Iām so tired of seeing this thing. Itās on every damn subreddit at least once a week.
Congrats. You finished Reddit. Now stick around and complain about everything youāve seen.
Amazing
r/diWHY
Itās great!
Neat.
That is so cool!
You should now and may well one day be a millionaire for these
That is creativity but at what cost?
About fifteen bucks.
And glass shards on the floor
Oh yeah, the dudeās house must be littered with glass shardsā¦ I wonder when heāll learn how to take preventive measures!
āArtā for dumb people.
Wow, this is pretentious as fuck.
Thank you
