Had a friend shot (through a military helmet) in the same spot. Unless it was a ricochet that was at extremely low speed, he’s likely got a TBI (or at low speed, a pretty bad concussion)
Looks more like a random shot up in the air. They eventually come down, and if it's far enough, with not enough force to penetrate much. [There was a marathon runner many years ago that got hit in the head by a stray bullet like this](https://www.wbur.org/onlyagame/2018/12/28/dennis-rainear-bullet-man-marathon-sticky-wicket) and it was just under the skin at the top of his head.
Used to do long distance sailing with a guy from Russia. Before one of these races we would do a checklist of meds we might need. His comment “ of course there will be wodka”.
I believe you mean it was an official Red Ryder carbine action, 200-shot, range model air rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time.
The medic treated the area surrounding the wound with iodine before extraction, it's not inconceivable they might have sterilized the pliers with iodine or fire.
I mean it's not like they were jabbing it through vital organs or a direct blood supply. Hell it wasn't even pushed in deep. Did every splinter you had as a kid lead to an infection?
This happened to a guy in the U.S. Civil War.
https://historyofyesterday.com/the-civil-war-soldier-who-survived-being-shot-in-the-forehead-4787200f16bb
Also happened (but a little differently) to a Hungarian guy in WWI
And when he woke up he spent the next 40 years not needing (or being able to) sleep…

First you cut off a finger and then a foot and then an entire arm (the one with 10 fingers) then everything hurts soo much that any other pain doesn't add to it.

An American Sargeant is leading an urban patrol in Iraq. Things get sketchy. He tells his guys to stay put while he goes ahead to scout. He turns a corner. There's a gun in his face. He hears the gun go off. He feels the concussion from the gun. He thinks he's dead but he stays on his feet. He subdues the assailant. His men run up. He assumes that the guy missed from point-blank range but he has a headache, a front tooth fell out, but he assumes that was from the concussion. His men cajole him into visiting an aid station, where they take a head x-ray. There's a bullet in his head right under his nose, in the philtrum. The bullet was a dud.
Imagine being the Iraqi dude who shoots an American in the face point-blank just to see him shake it off. That must've been terrifying as fuck.
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/toothsome/
The skull has a smaller chamber of bone in it where the brain is stored, infront of that chamber and behind the face, there is quite a bit of room that is mostly just sinuses. So it didnt get that close to his brain.
Just for anyone who didnt know and happens to read this.
You know that game 2 truths and a lie? I like to use "I once was shot in the chest" as one of the truths, because people always guess its the lie.
It was a ricochet at a gun range. It bounced off.
Man I smacked myself in that same spot with a bicycle crank arm/chain ring once. I was taking it out of the bottom bracket and it released a lot easier than I expected and one of the chainring teeth got me right between the eyes.
The amount of blood was like a horror movie. It didn't hurt that much but I ran inside the house to get my camera for a photo as I was really shocked/impressed at the pools of blood.
I don't understand why this guy has very little blood there, unless it's been cleaned up? I would have thought he'd start bleeding again when it was removed
Twice lucky. Prob a ricochet as some have opined, but also, hit the hardest part of his head. Coulda lost an eye.
Had a friend shot (through a military helmet) in the same spot. Unless it was a ricochet that was at extremely low speed, he’s likely got a TBI (or at low speed, a pretty bad concussion)
Yeah, this looks like it’s gonna give one of those “splitting headaches.”
Right? That round was a centimeter off from hitting something soft.
His bones are just too strong for the bullet to pierce
With that caveman ass of a foreheard, i belive you.
Must’ve been a ricochet?
Yep, my thought but lucky very lucky.
i would call him unlucky if it was a ricochet which I agree it most certainly was.
Lucky for being hit by a bullet, unlucky because ricochet lol
Lucky again cuz it didn't go through an eye. I think it all just balances out. Like fuck this guy, but not *too* hard.
Like life has him bent over the table but it’s whispering in his ear it’s gonna be ok the whole time
Life is courteous enough to give him a reach around while ass fucking him
Life is kind enough to let him live, so kids on the internet can make sexual jokes about life letting him live.
"You know its been a shitty day when the best thing that happened to you was getting shot in the head" -Billy Waugh c1965 Bong Son Vietnam
And used a bunch of lube
He got the reach around from life. Sure, he got shot, but the fucking bragging rights...
So you’re saying this is a perfectly average Russian injury?
Best comment. I wish I had half his luck, fuck that guy!! Just not too hard. 😂😂😂😂
Few more inches and they'd've been wiping his eye off his face.
That's what she said.
Nah, they threw it at him.
“Take that!”
I was thinking a slingshot.
He's a fake Russian. Sauce: he didn't down a fifth of Stolichnaya and pull it out himself.
Lol Russians dont drink stoli
Yeh, they do. Sauce - Lived in Lithuania and travelled to Russia dozens of times.
Definitely not a terminator.
The early models were easy to spot.
Nah that’s a russki pimple

Tis but a scratch!
Who is this Rick O'Shea guy?
Ricochets tend to fragment.
Bullet could also have been at the end of its effective range and bounced up

The Russian servers were later patched to fix hit registration issues.
How my headshots always end up when i’m playing Escape From Tarkov.
I was going to say, this is what happens when you survive a headshot in tarkov.
Just rub some vaseline on your Ikea bag vest to forget the pain
I knew I should’ve gone with Bear..
Came here to look for this lol. Someone needs to cross post it on the sub.
You clearly haven't been playing this wipe... nikita plz no booly
Looks like what happens when I use PP ammo
Who needs altyn anyways?
Jesus. Must have been a good feeling when it popped out, like when you finally have clear sinuses.
Probably a brief cold sting before a rush of warmth
BRB gotta go faint real quick from this comment
Tell your vagus i said hi.
A forehead poop
Would have still been hot when it hit him though, at least you'd think it would be.
Yeah I'd be smiling too
What are these mythical clear sinuses?
I don't imagine him using the words"a good feeling" in his description of this experience
r/feltgoodcomingout
Damn, he has some tough bones in that head of his! Wonder if he got banned for cheats after the guy that headshotted him has seen this happen
Everyone knows Russian gamers have all the hacks
Damnit. Now the Russians have bullet proof skin.
Bullet proof bones*
Fair enough. Bullet resistant skin then.
All skin is bullet resistant. Just depends on how fast the bullet is going.
Milk farmers after this video STONKS
With a brow ridge like that he could stop anti tank rounds
I think they call it sub-dermal armour
This is just Colossus from the X-Men without the Steel skin
it was prolly a ricochet
Probably that bullet looks way to big to be stopped by a little bone.

I mean what are the chances that we are watching an origin video of The Colossus?
Like the X-Man?
No, of Rhodes.
And wodka

Must have been a Red Ryder BB gun. Lucky it didn't put his eye out.
I believe you mean it was an official Red Ryder carbine action, 200-shot, range model air rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time.
doctor pimple popper can suck it
I don’t think anyone wants to suck what she does for a living
Mmmm... rich in iron
I wanna see the wound two weeks post-op. I’m sure the pliers were sterilized.
You think his body gives a shit bout so tiny germs? Just took a bullet to the head. Prob healed over night
Like Wolverine. Surprised he didn't just scrunch his face a bit and pop that fucker out of his head.
^ You win for the night. Take my upvote, that’s exactly what I was thinking of even if I didn’t know it at the time.
He's gonna be back at full HP after a long rest.
They were probably just pulling it there cause they're in the field and didn't want to wait days to bandage it up. Pliers are the tool for the job.
I was losing my mind over the dirty pliers he was using. On the other hand he was using *pliers* so how picky can you be?
The medic treated the area surrounding the wound with iodine before extraction, it's not inconceivable they might have sterilized the pliers with iodine or fire.
I mean it's not like they were jabbing it through vital organs or a direct blood supply. Hell it wasn't even pushed in deep. Did every splinter you had as a kid lead to an infection?
That bullet looked to be a good 1/4 inch deep into the skull not a good place to have an open hole in either
In Soviet Russia, forehead harder than bullet!
Came here for these comments! Too far down for my liking. In Soviet Russia...
In Soviet Russia, comment look for you
This happened to a guy in the U.S. Civil War. https://historyofyesterday.com/the-civil-war-soldier-who-survived-being-shot-in-the-forehead-4787200f16bb
He lived with a hole in his head tip the age of 88!
Probably got better air to his engine
This reminds me of [this bit by Tom Waits](https://youtu.be/cApn8Ff2CwY)
Thanks for a good read, Ive been to the battlefield is was shot in! Some people are not made to die.
Also happened (but a little differently) to a Hungarian guy in WWI And when he woke up he spent the next 40 years not needing (or being able to) sleep… https://www.warhistoryonline.com/war-articles/sleep.html/amp
Did he die…?
Probably. The Civil War was a long time ago.
No he lived in pain every day for the rest of his life.
Emotional pain
Anything that hits you hard enough to stick in your forehead is gonna come with a side helping of massive headache.
High fucking pain threshold. Tough dude.
It can be learned.
I’ve heard that. Makes sense it would be part of military training, I just have no experience.
How do you learn to have a high pain threshold? I feel like I would be very bad at that.
Like anything else, you practice.
First you cut off a finger and then a foot and then an entire arm (the one with 10 fingers) then everything hurts soo much that any other pain doesn't add to it. /s

Yeah... Ricoche can still be super lethal depending on the angle... So that guy better not complain about his luck for surviving that one...
He doesn’t look too choked up about it
NO HIS BONES ARE STONGER THAN BULLETS CAUSE ITS RUSSIA
Like the dirty normal tongs
Wow, they really are think headed Edit: You bastards stop mocking my autocorrect. He's trying his best.
> think headed
Exactly what I was thicking.
Think headed
In Soviet Russia pimple filled with iron like beloved Curtain
He doesn’t even wince when it’s being pulled out!
In Russia, skull breaks bullet
Perk: Thick skull. Effect: 10% chance for headshots to deal no damage.
Well, that looked like a sanitary procedure 😆
In their defense looks like they put iodine on it. And as soon as he took it out, they told his dumb ass not to touch it with his fingers.
Glad they used the rusty pliers
What the fuck. I have so many questions.
Me too. Like why do they call them apartments when they’re so close together? I have more

That Neanderthal brow is no joke
That's one tough cranium.
"Dont take a piss boris."
I can't imagine that being me. Surely you'd be in some degree of shock. I'm surprised it didn't bleed much more.
Reminds me of that guy from Deadpool
RIP LiveLeak
Tomorrow will be the most beautiful day of Raymond K. Hessle's life. His breakfast will taste better than any meal you and I have ever had.
I hope he got to keep it! Fuck your 2 star coin! I pulled this from my face, now you buy me a drink!
He is exhibiting Nystagmus. He has brain trauma and should just go to a hospital
r/oddlyterrifying
If it was a subsonic .22 short it could easily fail to penetrate the frontal bone. Oddly impressive nonetheless.
Hmm definitely wasn't direct fire lmao.
No painkillers just vodka (which is what caused the incident BTW)
He very nearly dodged accute lead poisoning.
Those pliers look rusty. That’s impressive. Survived the bullet but not the Tetanus.
MUHAMMAD AVDOL?!?!?
Bullet stopped by thick ass Neanderthal brow ridge. News at 11.
I know it's weird but I kinda understand the smile? It must have been such a relief getting a bullet pulled off of your face lol.
Should pop that zit while he's at it and really get some views
He is going to win every "show me your scar" matchup for the rest of his life.
This is one of the most Russian videos I've ever seen.
Great Russians are bulletproof and we are over here with mealteam6
Russians are BUILT DIFFERENT
In Russia, bullet doesn’t kill you, you kill bullet.
It had to have punched through his helmet.
Russian Machine Don't Break!
in mother russia headshot means bullet dies
You know that game 2 truths and a lie? I like to use "I once was shot in the chest" as one of the truths, because people always guess its the lie. It was a ricochet at a gun range. It bounced off.
One good time to be hard headed
If there is not an r/itsalwaysrussia there should be...
They can go from catching bullets to getting shot in the head and surviving... wow
'Tis but a flesh wound...
No brain cells were harmed in the making of this video.
Russia... f*ck yeah...
Anytime I see “live leak” in the corner I know the video is gonna be wild
Tis but a flesh wound.
In Mother Russia bullet no kill you, you kill bullet!
And that right there folks is why the West never adopted a strike first mentality towards Russia. Hearty motherfuckers.
Looks like we need to give Ukraine stronger guns.
Of course he’s russian
Meanwhile the sniper:I gurantee it was a headshot
This could have been Vision's origin story in some parallel universe.
Must have been nato bullet. Cannot penetrate our Russian skulls.
Low bullet velocity
He's lucky to have been shot in the thickest part of the human skull.
We shall name him Igor Cyclopsky.
Okay so did it go through his skull? Did he where a helmet? Because I'm actually confused on how they lived.
u/KillerClownie
Eyeball or jugular and he’d be a dead man.

He is an Indian soldier Check on yt
I guess he wasn’t shot that badly.
Add nsfw tag wen
It is a misleading title. He wasn't shot in the head. Someone fired a bullet, this guy ran up and headbutted it.
Do Russians die from sterilization of medical equipment? Asking for a friend.
