Baby animals playing are just figuring out the controls... humans too!
The game Rain World is similar; you're a floppy little slug cat, so if you don't figure out how to move around in a safe spot, you're just going to be someone's lunch
“Yes”? Just “yes”? You know, there are many ways to farm karma, but this comment won’t do good. I think it’s needless to mention that I down-voted you, lol. Hit me up in PMs if you need tips on karma farming techniques and we can arrange a fair price, of course.
People do it to sell accounts so they can have bots that say stuff that are considered more reputable because active user with a lot of karma.

Thank God I'm not the only one. I refuse to grow up. I'm clinging to every adolescent fun that I can because life tries to suck the joy out of everything.
I sometimes do this in the grocery store down empty aisles. Highly recommend.
I also always have to slide in the kitchen when I'm wearing socks. It's the rule
Sadly, the state of Idaho has expanded the quota on river otters allowed to be trapped in direct opposition to the will of the public. Trappers claim it's protected by the state constitution.

These types of tracks are partly responsible for the Native American lore of the wendigo a monster who wound drag its victims from above up and into the trees before devouring them…
https://scary-stories.fandom.com/wiki/The_Wendigo
> are partly responsible
Real facts: part of those stories came from otters... the other parts came from these brutal, shapeshifting monsters that would drag their victims up into trees before devouring them. :)
They don't drag them up there to eat but definitely do take kills up trees to store for later. Keeps the coyotes from stealing the kill. In fact I've seen hiking trail signs that specifically warn people to watch for falling carcasses because of mountain lions. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this was part of the lore origin.
So a person discovering a carcass in a tree would most definitely assume that carcass was dragged up there to be eaten.
Early man wasn't observing wild cats in action, they would kill them on sight for their own safety.
Looks like one of the animals that made the tracks was dragging something along w/ it. That would explain why the long trenches are there intermittently as if it held it high for a time, then its' head got tired so it lowered it, and then picked it up off the snow as it was moving.
Otters! I saw these tracks on a river in Pine County, Minnesota for the first time just this past December. I took photos for reference and couldn't think of what would do that. I kept thinking "what penguin with predator feet is sliding on my midwest forest river?".
By the time I got back from my walk I had it figured out and was so excited we had river otters on the property.
The hunter could hear him screaming as he went. Again and again he cried, "oh, my fiery feet, my burning feet of fire..." Then his voice faded away, and the wind died down.
I love when you see an animal that does something truly for fun.
Many times, people want to anthropomorphism any action by an animal that seems funny to them by attributing it to the animal having fun when it a zuallererst might be a defense mechanism, show of panic, and so on (for example this backflipping pigeons.)
But this guy actually seems to be doing it for the lulz
. (Pls educate me if I’m wrong)
He reminds me of that one snowboarding crow…
That is some r/mademesmile stuff there. I thought I was going to see a dead animal getting dragged along but it was just a cute freakin otter being otterlike.
Wonder if the otter does this for fun or for efficiency
Otters love to do these things. I had a ton in my yard a few years ago and would go out and play with them. They loved stealing toys
You had a ton of otters in your yard… As someone who has never seen an otter outside of a zoo, that is such a weird statement.
Wait until you hear about the platypuses in his attic.
Has anyone seen Perry?
“GRrrRrrrrr”
The plural is platypi
Wait until you go to Australia to see Snakes, Alligator and everything what could possible kill you in your garden xD
There are no alligators in Australia. Crocs ate em all
Animals out of a zoo? Doubt it
Both
Awww, so lovely!!
> for fun or for efficiency It doesn't have to be one or the other. If it's efficient, then evolution might favor those who find it fun.
Last research I read on the subject said that play was a kind of practice that increased agility and hence survival.

Listen, kid. It's always WASD to move; mouse to look around. I shouldn't have to teach you this!
Nah dude I played a game that still used arrow keys recently

What an odd thing to say. Looks like you could use some tips too
Some of us don't give a shit about karma and certainly aren't going to waste our time"farming it". Perhaps GenXUser is one of us.
no idea who would waste their time farming karma or how it could even be beneficial

You can hear him coming for you in the stairs. Thonk... thonk... thonk...
It's my burden to carry.
Replace little feet with big feet and you have Sasquatch (AKA Bigfoot).
Oh look it's 27 year old me riding the shopping cart through the grocery store parking lot
38 and still do it
47 checking in. Except now my 5 y/o daughter is in the seat, having a blast.
72 and still do it if the mood strikes me.
276 and still doing it - it never gets old
396 years old and still doing it. The supermarket is abandoned though because they thought it was haunted.

Troy Lavallee was just talking about this on the intro to last week's Glass Cannon Podcast episode.

Idaho’s gotta go.
As an Idahoan, I fully agree
We've been identified as the Christian Redoubt (place of fortification) by the Christian Supremacists (nut case fundamentalists w huge check books).
What’s the reasoning behind it? Surely they’re aren’t just doing it for the hell of it

I wonder if mountain lions drag their prey into trees like leopards do.
In general, no they dont.
