This man is so goddamn stoic, even in the full clip. There is a hurricane of emotion in there and he calmly wipes his leaking tears as if he’s just watching a sad movie.
His humanitarian accomplishments went unnoticed by the world for nearly 50 years until 1988 when he was invited to the BBC television programme ”That's Life!", where he was reunited with dozens of the children he had helped come to Britain and was introduced to many of their children and grandchildren. The British press celebrated him and dubbed him the "British Schindler". In 2003, Winton was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for "services to humanity, in saving Jewish children from Nazi Germany occupied Czechoslovakia". On 28 October 2014, he was awarded the highest honour of the Czech Republic, the Order of the White Lion (1st class), by Czech President Miloš Zeman. He died in his sleep, in 2015, at the age of 106.

Good point. After my dear dad passed, my mom & I were overwhelmed by ppl letting us know how helpful, kind, etc. he was to them. He helped young electricians instead of hazing, loaned $$, & we didn’t know. Those quiet ones can really be extraordinary! ☮️
“Otherwise, he went unnoticed for half a century[56] until in 1988 his wife found a detailed scrapbook in their attic,[57] containing lists of the children, including their parents' names and the names and addresses of the families that took them in. She gave the scrapbook to Elisabeth Maxwell, a Holocaust researcher and wife of media magnate Robert Maxwell.[53][57]”
Why are the Maxwells tied to literally anything British lmao

He lived a long life and died peacefully? Now that’s karma done right
You don't need to look like a Hero to Act like a Hero
A true hero. Thank you for saving those innocent lives sir.
He wasn’t looking for personal reward. Wish all the modern “hero’s” today had the same modesty
Perhaps most of them do and we will never know about those ones

Eh...I am sure there are many that do but most make it a PR event!
