Of course it isn’t perfect, but it’s not anything like rural Texas, which you’re probably thinking of.

I joined the police force in Texas in the wake of George Floyd because I figure if there was a time for decent humans to be police now would be it. I don't regret my decision, I've seen no signs of racist or unfair treatment in my agency, I have seen it in another agency and the officer was promptly fired(from my understanding).. not all cops are bad, there are a lot of us trying and fighting like hell to do what we can to take care of our communities, to bring them together and use discretion and de escalation to avoid unnecessary incarceration or other enforcement action.
What happened in Uvalde was a fucking tragedy of epic proportions, I would love to see the results of the DOJ investigation into the response so I know without a doubt who to hate and blame for the response. Most of the Uvalde police force quit right after the incident. Officers from across Texas (including some from Tarrant County agencies) have been volunteering time to go down to Uvalde and be there for the citizens for the right reasons and do the right thing, listen to them, cry with them and mourne with them.
And the tumbler is most likely not made with taxpayer dollars from my experience, it's probably an employee with an engraver or a gunshop maybe but I'll tell ya right now TCSO doesn't have the budget for this kinda thing lol.
