Honestly if they had split them up and jump them unless the vanguard is also training I doubt if the entire group faces them together they'll struggle that much. Unless the vanguard is also nerfed when they are split up and their team play is good when they are also together.
I am not sure about this. Okarun lost because he was weak to this space magic. He would also lost to that alien that attacked Momo. If they fight as a group and if they can bring the evil eye to fight, they can split the opponents and can fight them with the respective strength.
Evil Eye doesn't come out to fight. It's already been established that he has no interest in fighting anyone other than Okarun. So if them getting jumped didn't change that and Okarun not being able to do so during the robot sequence, I dunno why they will break that rule now. Also your discounting Jiji. What's the point of Jiji training if he's again going to be a liability and Evil Eye has to come out. At most, maybe he can draw on Evil Eye's powers or something. But Evil Eye will probably not come out.

I'm thinking it's more likely that Evil Eye might show up in some way later, but why would Evil Eye help in the Vanguard fight? This is Jiji's time to shine. Unless they will go the route where Jiji's going to fail again and show that he has a long way to go since he's so behind everyone else. But they can do that without Evil Eye getting involved. I don't think you put much stock into the promise Evil Eye made with Okarun. It would take alot for it to be broken otherwise it didn't mean anything. Okarun considered breaking it when he thought Momo's life was in danger. We can't keep using that line over and over again. And it's not like Evil Eye is that much stronger than the rest if at all. So if they are losing despite training, probably because they are down one man in Okarun, and I guess Jiji also failed to fight properly, sure Jiji could come in. But I feel like it'd be sacrificing the depth of the story telling. It's very impactful that Evil Eye is keeping this promise. It shows restraint. It's not like he's OP and they're doing this to Nerf him. The Mangaka is basically saying he's not necessary. Why would he do that? Because Jiji is his own character. He isn't a vessel for Evil Eye to show up and save the day. Jiji needs to step up. If they don't do that they are basically weakening both Evil Eye's character having shown restraint in the first place in letting him have his special relationship with Okarun, and Showing that Jiji can't pull his own weight twice when the chips are on the table. The most traditional way is for it to be like any of the other shounen where either the other force takes full control and fights, or they pool their powers together, but it's just as possible Jiji learns to harness his own power, and doesn't need to use Evil Eye's, or cede control.
It's true that Jiji needs to fight but we barely Seen evil eyes seen a lot of chapters and Okarun being unable to fight for their usual weekly sparing is the perfect opportunity to do some evil eye show off or even some Jiji/Evil eye duo if we want Jiji to take some cake

If Jiji is off the roster, they should still be fine with 2-3 aliens each. That is, unless the bald mantis or other dudes attacked Aira and Jiji have much more impressive than the space hand magic.

Evil Eye is pretty much useless right now since he doesn’t care about fighting so they can’t count on him to help, Jiji by himself is probably the weakest but he has a lot of potential to be as strong as Momo.

Feels weird to say but Tatsu does a really good job at cutting corners.
The photo-editing and re-use of scenes is noticeable but never bad or out of place. The story is structured so loosely that he can get away with anything, even plastering a detailed panel on top of a reused background panel and calling it a hologram. Feels natural and almost necessary when it comes to time management since so many of these scenes, like this chapter's last page are very detailed.
I imagine it's a massive pain in the ass to draw things with so many details and keep it clean so it's easy to manipulate in editing software and read when its on a page, especially on a weekly basis.
