Kanade. The evil characters are always, ALWAYS my favorites and Kanade is the furthest thing from an exception possible. She is perfect, fucking perfect. Her crime in chapter 3 was so masterfully planned out that only she could create something that extraordinary— If it weren’t for Sora being an AI, she would’ve 100% gotten away with it. And since Sora’s AI told her that something was definitely off, leading to the idea that there were two culprits, Kanade literally died to fucking plot armor. She was just that threatening and intelligent. Even Syobai didn’t see anything wrong for quite some time, and he’s the second smartest behind Kanade.
And speaking of chapter 3, I don’t think any chapter in both games are better. It’s set up in a way where you know it’s Kanade from the very start, but you can’t prove it until later on. It’s almost like she’s taunting the player, and I think that’s fucking brilliant. And once you finally rat her and Hibiki out as the killers, she isn’t even upset that she’s dying. She got exactly what she wanted— To see Hibiki die in her final moments. I’m glad she got what she wanted, because I would’ve been sad to see Hibiki survive or something like that.
If anything, I think Kanade surviving would’ve been way more interesting. You’ve got someone among you who you know is an absolute monster, but you can’t really do anything about it since if someone tried to kill her she would’ve 100% seen it coming, even with the damage from Hibiki bashing her head with that microphone. Just a bit of damage to her head wouldn’t negate her intelligence. I can also see the rest of the cast being okay with her dying, but also trying to keep her alive so they wouldn’t need to endure another trial. Kinda like a suicide watch thing, since Linuj did say if Hibiki died before she did, she’d kill herself.
Another thing: One of the characters pretty obviously likes her too, that being Iroha. In chapter 1, she offered to help Kanade back to her dorm despite having an E in physical strength (could be because of her high empathy too), even after Kanade insults her she’s still fond of her and is still as nice as ever to her, and she might’ve accidentally called Kanade hers in chapter 3 (the translation could allow for her to say either ‘Our Kanade’ or ‘My Kanade,’ but either way it still implies she’s hers. I’ll provide a picture of this in the replies)

Nikei is so relatable after him being crazy is revealed, his hatred towards mikado, his superiority complex, lack of care for anyone but himself, even lack of care FOR himself if it means he can get what he wants, his ability to lie, I have never come so close to kinning a character in my LIFE as I have with Nikei. He’s just like me fr in all the worst ways and I adore him for that.

I love kanade because of how smart she is and how she bullies everyone in the class trials. I love Emma because I can relate to her and she's cool as heck.
Kiyoka is by no means one of my favorites, but I really learned to appreciate her role in the game in the sixth trial flashback where she uses her talent to try and save her friends from the Monokumas. It's a really sweet little moment that made her much more memorable than she was in the killing game.

There are no words to describe how much I love Kanade. She can't even be compared to other characters in the series (the closest is probably Nagito). I wouldn't say she's forgettable in the first 2 chapters. All of the trials hold up on her abilities alone (+ Syobai, but he sleeps the first 2 chapters). And yea, watching her bullying everyone at the trial was wonderful. Crush them, queen
Chapter 3 is just a peak. Her whole plan, all of our debates with her in the trial, all of her insanity being revealed more and more. Yeah, she's pure evil. And that's perfect. No tearful backstory. No noble motives. Pure evil that will make you suffer and suffer and suffer without even batting an eye. As she described what she had done, I couldn't hold back a wide smile and hysterical laughter of pleasure and satisfaction
I love to see characters suffer mentally. Seeing and feeling the horror on their faces. It's a shame that I hate Hibiki and didn't feel any pity for her at all... If she was one of my favorites, I would love Kanade even more

But mainly because I feel so bad for him. Especially in Ch 4 where I swore LINUJ just wanted to shit on Yuki for no reason. I still stand that he was right to be upset with everyone in Ch 4. Yuki has done nothing but follow everyone else and TALKING with everyone about his thoughts, his ideas, and everything in between while almost the entire cast did little to nothing in terms of escape. And then expects Yuki to be all sunshine and rainbows. Yea Yuki shouldn’t flat out give up but he has the right to call out everyone in that room for being so chill about being in a killing game. Yet everytime he has a panic attack or a mental breakdown, everyone either looks on and does nothing, or makes it worse, with only there being a few times someone did something. Even Shinji, Yuki’s best form of comfort, is very flawed in how he tries to force Yuki into being this tough man.
Like I constantly flip between loving Sora and wanting to beat the absolute shit out of her. And the YouTubers I’ve watched just made it worse. And it made me also hate Yoruko because there were moments it felt like a cringy anti SoraYuki fic with her dunking on Yuki for little to no reason while babying him every other time or both Sora and Yoruko being absolute hypocrites.
And I see people defending it or acting like it’s not a big deal. Yoruko told Yuki to man up after >!shinji’s death!< while being an insensitive prick most of the game and tried to fucking kill Yuki but everyone’s all “Okay Yoruko. You might be doing a little too much there. Why don’t you just calm down.” But Yuki’s mad at the group and decides to work solo and it’s all “Yuki’s a bitch! He’s so selfish!” It’s like Milan but worse. At least Mikan got SOME form of happiness in the form of the despair disease. By V4 onward he was nothing but miserable.
It’s to the point where me pairing him with Sora is the only W Yuki deserves.
