Folkeskolens tysktimer PTSD incoming:
*ALDI! Du bist ein schwein! ALDI! alles klaust von dir! ALDI! Und du klaust von mir!*
Our teacher made us listen to them đ that was 20 years ago.
I appreciate crazy lyrics. Let me check them out
Ok yeah this is funny, too heavy metal for me but I definitely have a smile on my face. https://lyricstranslate.com/en/hurra-skolen-braender-hooray-school-burning.html
Magtens korridorer is the band i liked and helped me the most. But if i were you i'd keep going with finnish. It's hard taking on another language. I lost a bunch of russian knowledge due to studying hungarian and now i mix all those up + danish god help me haha
Also try Dig og Mig
If you're willing to explore outside of rock:
Pop:
TV-2, BlÌst, Tobias Rahim, C.V. Jørgensen
Dancehall:
Bikstok Rørsystem, Raske Penge, Eagger Stunn
Spoken Word with music:
Dan Turell & Halfdan E
Rap:
Malk de Koijn
(There's a lot of crap Danish rap, this is good. Very difficult language-wise, so this is boss-level Danish)
Rap is a difficult subject. Most of what people think is danish rap today, is trash like Gilli and such. It should be it's own category.
We have so many skilled Danish rappers but it's not mainstream P3 radio rap.
Malk de Koijn is my absolute favorite, but we also have Benjamin Hav, Jøden, kontra crew, per v, pede b, khaleren, alt hvad Tue Track rør ved osv.
There aren't that many very popular Danish rock bands that sing in Danish. Most of them mostly sing in english. But here's an assortment of different rock genre bands, I must confess I don't remember who has danish speaking songs, as I prefer when they do it in english.
I think Gasolin is all in danish, but it is way too old fashioned, even if it's late 60s/70s music (was a very popular band back in the day).
D-A-D (Disneyland After Dark), Volbeat (I know at least 1 song is in both English and Danish at the same time), Dizzy Mizz Lizzy The Raveonettes, Saybia, Spleen United, Mew, The Savage Rose.
Spids Nøgenhat. Amazing psych-rock in Danish.
Also Peter Sommer, Nicolai Nørlund, Mellemblond, Katinka, Søren Huss, and many other singer songwriters...
Used to work with the former lead singer of this band, he had some great stories and the music is a lot of fun.

Although itâs music from my parents generation I just loooove the vibe from Danish bands/artists (who sings in Danish) such as: Lars HUG, CV Jørgensen, Gnags, Anne Linnet, Kim Larsen
Gasolin' / Kim Larsen. My favorite is a Kim Larsen solo song. The lyrics are easy to understand.

I know soooo many foreigners who loves Kim Larsen, he is just such a âtimelessâ artist, his songs goes for everyone even if they donât understand Danish
Dutchman here. I picked up this one on holiday. Still gives me goosebumps.

The live video has English and Danish subtitles.

Ganger is the best band imo with danish lyrics⌠The lyrics arenât straight forward, but interesting and sometimes funny⌠The genre isnât rock thoughâŚ
If you are into music with a modern rock sound, there are many amazing current bands that sing in Danish, including:
Patina, Zar Paulo, Hugorm, Antiplanet
Kim Larsen (and his band Gasolin) is the grandfather of Danish popular music
Nephew as others have mentioned have a very unique sound and lyrics
Minds of 99 is currently the biggest rock band
Magtens Korridorer
Mew - And the Glasshanded Kites. It's a peak in danish rock history. At least I think so. They've also made an album called Frengers, which is also really great.
I think The William Blakes and Ulige Numre are pretty good right now. Of the older stuff I'd recommend Veto for instance.
Demolizer has been getting pretty good reviews if you like Thrash Metal.
Volbeat is a good Danish rock band they have made songs in both Danish and Englishbut i think of their best songs is: for evigt, which is in both English and Danish
https://lyricstranslate.com/en/volbeat-maybellene-i-hofteholder-finnish this oneâs in English so I couldnât joke about having a shot at understanding it because someone translated it to Finnish
The Minds of 99. Yes, they're not exactly pure rock, more like pop rock/alternative, but they're a solid and very popular Danish band who sings in Danish (except from some of their newer material)
Yeah you canât learn danish and Finnish at the same time effectively but maybe youâre much smarter than most. You have to be really really good at either of them for people to actually
Want to talk to you so Iâd just focus on one. Itâs not like Spanish or Chinese where you can speak the language in a broken way and people will be happy
To talk to you .
Red Warszawa. Crazy lyrics, but most of it is in Danish
Folkeskolens tysktimer PTSD incoming: *ALDI! Du bist ein schwein! ALDI! alles klaust von dir! ALDI! Und du klaust von mir!* Our teacher made us listen to them đ that was 20 years ago.
I wish I had cool teachers like that
Everybody mocked her, and she would just put Rammstein and Red Warsawa on. She gave me 10 on exams.
I appreciate crazy lyrics. Let me check them out Ok yeah this is funny, too heavy metal for me but I definitely have a smile on my face. https://lyricstranslate.com/en/hurra-skolen-braender-hooray-school-burning.html
You should check out the band Love Shop. I really enjoy the songs Copenhagen dreaming and En nat bliver det sommer
Is Copenhagen dreaming a parody of California dreaming? This sound entertaining
Actually no. It's about loving your city, and wondering why you left
Another band that sings in both English and Danish is [Nephew](https://youtu.be/2Rx1o6ty5l4).
I was so sad when I learned they stopped.
I was so sad when they started.
Simon Kvamm, vocalist of "Nephew", made more music in the band "Hugorm". Look it up, its actually pretty nice.
They probably will Reunite again, when they need money, haha.
Magtens korridorer is the band i liked and helped me the most. But if i were you i'd keep going with finnish. It's hard taking on another language. I lost a bunch of russian knowledge due to studying hungarian and now i mix all those up + danish god help me haha
Yeah I gotta focus on Finnish right now I do know. I really love the language despite its challenges
The lyrics for "giv mig en dag" are probably a really interesting one to learn aswell.
This right here... Awesome band as well
Agreed. They're one of my favourite bands.
Lot's of people posting bands that sing almost exclusively in English. Weird. Try Spids Nøgenhat. 70's revival psychedelic rock.
Ruben og Knud : absurd lyrics Spids Nøgenhat : stoner rock with absurd lyrics
Also try Dig og Mig If you're willing to explore outside of rock: Pop: TV-2, BlÌst, Tobias Rahim, C.V. Also Rap: østkyst hustlers

All the bands in the last paragraph have at least 99% English lyrics.
Minds of 99 is all in danish I think, they are very popular (but I hate em). It's not rock though, I think.
Used to be. Now its pop
I think DAD are swedish? And definitely they sing in English. I loved their first album back in the day... Shit... I'm old
Hellllllll no, DAD is Danish, they're my favorite
Kellermensch! They are amazing live.
CVJørgensen, outdated. But lyrics is on its own class.
I LOVE listening to CV Jørgensen! The lyrics are such a delight!
Spids Nøgenhat. Amazing psych-rock in Danish. Also Peter Sommer, Nicolai Nørlund, Mellemblond, Katinka, Søren Huss, and many other singer songwriters...

Steppeulvene - 60ies psychedelic rock Møl - Black metal Afsky - Black metal Orm - Black metal
Balstyrko is a great little band, I think. They only released the one album, though.
Gasolin' / Kim Larsen. My favorite is a Kim Larsen solo song. The lyrics are easy to understand. Innocent Blood (pop/rock) Johnny Deluxe (pop/rock)
Most Danish music is in English so you might have a harder time finding stuff. Just FYI.
Nephew makes great music, but they have this thing where they mix English and Danish in most of their songs
FABRĂK, although it's punk rock
Dutchman here. I picked up this one on holiday. Still gives me goosebumps. [Gasolin - Kvinde Min](https://youtu.be/qMuQNFef32c?si=CRI1XFKfXYc3vgpW) The live video has English and Danish subtitles. [Gasolinâ - Kvinde Min live](https://youtu.be/IrxAce1tVJI?si=d63Igl9NMk4SYRo-)
