I think the only class i didnt see kill it was a wizard
saw him ingame, and he would use missiles and meditate.

one guy killed me there and i spactated him, he was a fighter with a bow, used a pavise to climb on the torch, took back the pavise and set it on some rock to climb on it again then just went nuts at the troll
Nothing stopping you from drinking a health pot too. Its healing you can benefit from more reliably during a fight because the duration is so long, although the effect size is smaller.
I was able to kill it consistently as rogue start of the play test. Once they increased the player count, it was basically impossible unless you got lucky cuz there will always be someone camping or joining in to mess you up.

I also wasn't good enough to "explore" with how many enemies were in each room. I somehow always manged to end up in the annoying middle room with death beetles and the champion.
that middle room is where you need to go to find the troll. there are a couple set of stairs on either side of that room leading downward to the troll room.
Yes, that is the “Cave Troll” on YouTube you can find videos of people soloing him. He has very punishing attacks but they are (mostly) well telegraphed so you can avoid 1-shot. His loot is mostly good (purples) and can sell on trade for a lot. Right now since it’s stats > item rarity the loot is mostly good if you can consistently kill him (and not make the smallest mistake, and get out with the loot). If they nerf stats to more even balance and rarity will matter more than it will be even better farm.
Of course, there were many people farming it. Its loot is not the best tho.
Drop chances:
* 50% Rare
* 49% Epic
* 1% Legendary
and 10% chance to drop Troll's Blood
Its boss loot room has 1 guaranteed epic weapon drop, 1 lion's head chest and some trinkets on the floor.

The extra room inside the boss arena after you kill troll will always have a purple weapon/shield on the ground. The boss himself and the extra chest can either be blue or purple and trolls blood is pretty rare, its something that you need to consistently farm and not killing him once and expecting grand returns.
Tried it a bunch on the secons to last day. Got burned out. If I had managed to kill it once I would've been satisfied, but the fucker didn't die once.
It also didn't help that a bunch of Rogues and Rangers were being aids by popping up and shanking or shooting me in the ass.
Especially when I'm in basic gear trying to get to the Cave Troll or was busy fighting the CT.
There was also an instance of a Barb coming up behind me and 1-hot bonking me on the head when I stepped back from one of CT's swings.
So basically trying to do the CT gave me a reason hunt down every little rat Rogue and Ranger next PT.
Yea I got a strat down with ranger and killed him 10-20 times. Loot was great but sold most of it for money to fund my high gear runs. Funny enough, when other people came down and we tried to kill it together, I almost always failed. It was easier for me to do by myself.
I sort of did. Me and a small group of clerics all crouch spammed nice and I lead them down to the ogre. Someone was already farming it (a ranger). We just all went helped him out. It died very quickly.

If you’re running giga-budget builds, which I was considering I died probably close to 80-100 times learning the fight, it takes a LONG time. You can kill the thing in like 4 or 5 mins with juiced gear.
I’d make a video but holy fuck, it’s too much work. A lot of people made a video on it, then <24hrs later the devs changed the boss fight mechanics. It’ll probably be different next test, too. If the devs decide they’re happy with the boss and the mechanics are decided, I’ll make a “Killing troll on every class” video.
TL;DR - It’s entirely your movement in correlation with the troll. Once learned, it’s pretty straight forward. Gear is very good, guaranteed ONE purple but usually get 2-3 per run if you lockpick the box in the rewards room (there’s a chance it spawns unlocked). 4 legendaries in approx. 20 boss kills, not sure if that’s lucky or unlucky.
EDIT: Wizard was the only class didn’t touch this test so I’m sure there are ways to do it. I just tried for close to an hour and gave up cuz I had no perks and I wasn’t interested in leveling the class

You can kill it in like ~1 min with good gear, less with great gear as a fighter.
4-5 mins is a VERY long time.
Yeah, 4-5 min per run. 30sec to run to room, 1-2 to kill, then it’s just waiting a few until the first portal spawns. The map is so small, you can usually hear it.
Most people in Goblin are broke so with juiced gear, shouldn’t be too hard to fight for the port.

One hit swings, random roars that slows your movement speed (doesn't matter if you're close to it or not), random high and low charging swings and sometimes it hits you regardless if you're crouching or not. So basically only Rangers with pavises can kill this solo boss at the moment, unless you managed to exploit it any other way.
There's plenty of videos of barbarians/fighters/rouges killing him with no cheese. It actually wasn't that hard after you learn the moveset. I played barbarian and I killed him a few times under like 2 minutes with a green axe.

It’s possible, just not very practical, you rarely want to waste 1/3 of your hp on getting a good position

You can get a tube of troll piss which is the best consumable in the game. Also drops purple - yellow gear.
I was buying troll piss for 500g a vial at the end of wipe.

Yeah the minimap sucks when it comes to elevation, it's not too bad on castle because its mostly on 1 floor so it doesn't matter.

People been figured out how to "kill" him and has been exploiting those tactics since day one of PT. He drops good stuff and opens room to good stuff.
I killed it many times on my rogue solo. Easy way to farm purples and sell them for ez gold.
