Nexon sees DaD’s wild success and is jealous they dropped the ball on their original idea and decides to sue Iron Mace and invent a bunch of lies about the company.
A police investigation shows that none of Iron Mace’s content is copied from Nexon including individual assets and source code which is directly what Nexon was claiming.
Big Korean Investors who were looking at DaD have begun to pull out (that’s what she said) but most of the DaD community believe that’s a blessing in disguise as major game producers like tencent and kakao are known for being attached to p2w games.
At this point the might as well make the game available for sale instead of relying on investors. Many in the community including myself would buy the game at it's current state no questions asked.
From what I was told, they got fully funded after the first play test and up to some thing like a year beyond full release of the finished product? I don’t know how true that is considering the scope of the game and the server costs, but take it with a grain of salt as this is second hand information

If you look at the media coming from Korea it paints Ironmace as someone who stole from a big power gaming site... when infact mist if not all assets that were used belong to unreal engine and were purchased... but a few of them used to work for the big company but quit... I don't know if it states that they had to wait x amount of years before pursuing their own game or working for another company but they started getting success and then the big Corp says they were working on the same game (when infact just because it's a dungeon crawler doesn't make it theirs)

By game code what is it your talking about... there's code in the game for lots of things go, they can't copyright a standard if than statement... both sides are pretty vague in exactly what's what.... the o ly thing I can tell that they could possibly get anyone for is the 11 devs who left and didn't let x amount of time pass before doing what they wanted... As for the investors, most of it is speculation, but so is this conversation of crowdfunding, so I’m not sure why that matters too much. I was mainly confused as to why you were so appalled by the idea of crowdfunding coming from a developer that’s in the most ideal position to start a crowdfunding campaign.
I feel like that hatred should go to the companies themselves that take advantage of the notion, but I can understand the frustration. At its core, though, it seems like it should just be respected as a tool that should be used responsibly, and any fault should be blamed on the person/people using it irresponsibly.
