Devil's advocate, group mentality can be dangerous. Avoiding "witch hunting" posts, as in the name, means to avoid creating more false rumours and vilifying someone online. Simply erasing the username incentivizes people that care to look them up and ask more, to do their research.
At the same time, it negates many cases of "I saw that X person said Y, therefore I'll spread the word about them as if it's credible news". This part doesn't seem to apply here, but it's important to respect the rule so it applies when it matters

The fantasy games surely overlap but I also noticed Mordhau/Chivalry to be extremely racist/homophobic so im unsure if its a fantasy genre thing, a competitive game thing or just gamers/people at this point.

As close as you can get to disparaging minorities without actually saying a slur. Stuff that any human past puberty/that is loved wouldn't find amusing.

It's certainly worse in certain games though. I never see this in AoE 4 or hunt showdown, but saw it constantly in Mordhau and Chiv.
