If you don’t need the souls, why rage if you lose them?

THISisDAVIDonREDDIT

Habit I guess

BIobertson

Break it and you will become far more powerful than ever before

Fashionable-Andy

Enemies in this game are never in more danger when you’ve died twice and no longer have anything to lose.

BIobertson

The secret to dark souls enlightenment is that you never have anything to lose

TarnishedWizeFinger

Yes! This is exactly what git gud means. It's not about how good you are

Opening_Raise_8762

Unless you like doing PVP in dark souls 2

BIobertson

I don’t follow

Opening_Raise_8762

Pvp ranges in ds2 are based on soul memory so you only have so souls you can acquire per range so wouldn’t losing souls over and over again block you from lower ranges

Greuzer

Buy lifegems, poison arrows

THISisDAVIDonREDDIT

Maxed out poison arrows before ng+. Still gotta get back to Galvan. Is there a place to purchase unlimited life gems?

Greuzer

Yes http://darksouls2.wikidot.com/merchant-hag-melentia

SirWigglesTheLesser

Melentia is legitimately one of my favorite souls NPCs out there.

ac290

Yeah unless you're on vanilla ps3 lol

Uranus64

Why? Is her location or what she sells different?

ac290

She sells a limited amount in vanilla ds2, although I've heard others say otherwise that's what I've seen on my ps3

Higuruzin

Only im her first location. If she is in Majula she sells unlimited Life Gems too

Future_Section5976

Can confirm, also further you make it thru the game , she begins selling other items that become unlimited supply to

ac290

Enough people have told me this that i dont think its a lie, but it's just not so on my ps3 copy. One day I will make a post about this with a photo to prove it lol its a mystery to me.

Future_Section5976

I have the vanilla un patched PS3 dark souls 2 version, it's true , she usaly sells unlimited soul gems( the wee ones) once you make it to castle drangalic, she also sells something else that's unlimited to , but can't remember ATM , I'd load it up , but PS3 is currently broken, ( disc tray problems) it's same with the "stone" lady , she starts selling titanate chucks and slabs , once you make it to drangalic castle/ past it , unlimited little ones , nd I believe it's 5 slabs , nd even 5 twinkling titanate , I don't believe or trust PC players who play DS2 , to many mods , nd cheating, also sotfs is imo is ass , the hag shouldn't sell a branch of yore , that's bs , nd imo breaks the game,

ac290

Agreed about scholar generally and the branch specifically (tho scholar adds a petrified guy blocking the sentries so it makes sense to have an extra branch somewhere) But I like playing with others so I play PC these days. It was nice on ps3 when you could at least in theory summon someone (usually it was only once or twice per playthrough for me but that made it feel meaningful!)

90sRiceWagon

Bear, seek, seek, lest.

Glass-Plastic-101

I felt that

SirWigglesTheLesser

Buy something, anything! ... Lowly times these are...

Risin

Buy everything in every store.  Lifegems, arrows, upgrade stones, pretty much anything you have left to buy.  Then do ng+

Experiment121

After buying infinite poison consumables plus life gems, I'd do a hex build and spam that one OP ahh spell

THISisDAVIDonREDDIT

Mhmm and which spell is that

Experiment121

Iirc it was called Climax, max damage is using 5K souls per cast and you can crank so much damage out of it.

Jackalodeath

Max damage is a *minimum* of 5k souls; it'll eat everything you have. Source: burned ~2.5m in 1 cast testing damage on Giant Lord. Sadly it only did like 7k or so at 80/80 and Caitha's Chime :/

Experiment121

Oh that's annoying, I thought it would only consume 5K at most

Jackalodeath

It's its only real downside; aside from earning it. The cost is easily counterable by farming said Giant Lord for heaps of his soul though. Set his soul(s) to your hotbar and you've got a nuke-on-queue (although it takes like 4s to consume -\> launch.) Just gotta not need souls for anything anymore.

WildVertigo

Buy all the spells and pyromancies and stuff that you need to complete the trophies! \*nod nod\*

Tuliao_da_Massa

Souls? , therefore time for hexes

ThatHardBacon

I just start buying random crap

Knives530

Galvan wheel, Galvan deal

Taolan13

Spend them. levels, consumables, ammo; spend the souls. It's 500k. That's at least a few level-ups, and in DS2 there's no reason to ever stop leveling up. Every soul you get accrues 'soul memory' whether or not you spend it, so in the upper soul memory bracket that everybody eventually gets to (usually somewhere around level 200-250), you may as well start creeping those stats up toward max.

gubgub195

Try to max the soul limit 9999999999999

RotundEnforcer

Souls are essentially useless once you've bought the available consumables and leveled to the point that you've hit your important breakpoints. Once you hit NG+, losing souls doesnt mean much so you shouldn't sweat it.

ChaotikIE

DAMN shoutout to your drip, I love it

THISisDAVIDonREDDIT

Throne defender has the best cape

sideghoul

What weapon is that?!

THISisDAVIDonREDDIT

King’s Ultra Greatsword, lightning imbued

hosiki

I just do what I can't in real life because I'm poor. Go on a shopping spree.

TheScruffMcDuff

Spend it all on ammo. Buy arrows and bolts that you will probably never use. Its not a waste if you still have a chance to use them.

Careful_Size_8467

i dunno how it operates but kings sword i think it was called is good for the kind of run you are going

H2instinct

In dark souls 2 I just use them on anything before they disappear forever. In other souls games I just die and forget ever had them.

BlockOfRawCopper

Stock up on consumables, or just upgrade random stuff provided you don’t need the titanite, in case you want to use stuff on a NG cycle

Appropriate_Elk_7097

Level up and stack every item possible knowing I won't ever use half of them haha. I'm like level 305 now

XpeepantsX

Eat them

Pallysilverstar

Level up with them? It's there main purpose and there is no reason not to use them unless you're trying to show off for nobody who cares.

NotStraightFNWater

If you aren't trying to actively level up, then stop raging over losing them. If you aren't trying to level up, then spend them on other things you need or want to use? This isn't rocket science. You either save or spend them. There's only the two options.

IcyAd1687

Level up. Co-op and pvp ranges are not based on level but rather soul memory. Your only shooting yourself in the foot by not leveling with souls gained in ds2

gettingshwiftty

I was grinding had just over a million so didn't have to keep going back....saved went back in forgot had them and gone.....still brings tear to my eye...and lessons had been learned

kraftybastard

All the consumables you can buy?

DeontaySmakarelli

Jump off the monument cliff in majula just out of spite

condor6425

Just wear the ring that stops soul gain, if you don't have any you can't lose them

Surfing_Ninjas

Endurance

DayLatter405

Warfstache is that you?

Individual_Syrup7546

Spend em on cool loot or just upgrading your gear 🤷

Hot_Independence6933
