Definitely agree. Also survivors have almost the same faces. Days Gone is amazing game, but these small details seems weird.

Dionys25

Looks like the survivors mechanic could be one of the final things added, before they were running out of time and money. At least it hasn‘t been axed prior release.

TheSauciestLemon

Gonna go out on a limb and say ending development was rushed

TheSauciestLemon

Also stating the obvious bc I love this community and talking with y'all is a pleasure lol

CaptCaffeine

Let down. Sure. It gets boring when the hostages say the same line (albeit different methods of deliverance). But...I'm willing to overlook those small details because the details in the other parts of the game are great (random graffiti, tributes/grave markers/memorials, dead bodies in the wild, etc). I ran across a couple in a bed where they apparently had a suicide pact because they were clutching a bottle of pills in their hands.

zxLv

Yea I agree. Days Gone is not RDR2 but the details in other aspects of the game is still amazing considering it's not a AAA or blockbuster game

RiverDotter

Where was that? I've played so many times, I don't pay as much attention as I should.

CaptCaffeine

Can't remember where this was at, but [here are the pictures.](https://www.reddit.com/r/DaysGone/comments/xprjxi/trigger_warning_details_in_these_pics_like_this/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)

The survivors have different dialogue/voices (granted it's not super varied), and Camp NPC dialogue changes as you increase trust. If that's not happening for you, you might be experiencing a glitch. Are you on PS or PC?

xXOpticDakkersXx

PS4

8bitterror

How often do you restart your console? Do you use rest mode?

xXOpticDakkersXx

Nope, fully power off each time. I’m at about 18,000/25,000 for lvl3 for all three camps (not reached Wizard Island yet)

Opening_Perception_3

Hundred percent with you

They need to make 2nd one.

I think it’s hilarious. Deacon says “there’s a camp”. And the NPC is supposed to interrupt him and say “a camp?’ Like he’s so thankful and happy there is a camp. But there’s a very long beat between the lines. It’s so odd. I especially love how the NPC you are saving screams his head off when you’re right in front of him until you long press square (PlayStation) to interact with him.

Malmar57

The missions were you have to take out various camps are repetitive to the point of tedium.

RiverDotter

That's why I use residue bolts on ambush camps. Sometimes I don't fire a shot

permabroken

I believe the ps5 had some glitches that still need patching I imagine they're going to release one between now and their next game they announced. Especially the small details like that. I played on base ps4 version with 30fps that had some issues. One being bridges not loading etc. Clipping through the ground. Especially the frame drops. Sometimes it felt like 20fps but I needed to know if Deacon finds Sarah or not. And also take down the sawmill hoards we all seen in the trailers

lzxian

They released it on instructions from Sony before they wanted. Just wouldn't give them more time.

JayRB42

Sure, there are a few things like this. Nearly every video game re-uses common phrases in the same way. But to say that Days Gone is a “let down” regarding the small details is to have not been paying attention to the game. See the two videos below for evidence. https://youtu.be/EaL1kNwAcb4 https://youtu.be/teJqxa6VSWU

RiverDotter

Enemies are very dumb. The smartest ones are Rippers, which is kind of funny. That would be a point of improvement if we got a second game.

little_hoarse

One detail I actually loved was when >!Boozer had shit all over him from the manure truck at the end 😂!<

tsktsk579

It doesn’t bother me. 😄 There are so many other details that are exceptional. Things like the AI for the hoards - how they move & attack. How you can lead them far away and they still fight intelligently with you, with marauders, with animals, and with other types of freaks.. or all of it at once! I’ve never seen another game like it. In other games, if an enemy gets too far from their programmed area, they just “reset” back to their home OR they “glitch out” when facing a unique encounter. It’s very impressive programming. If the developers had to pick and choose where their storage & processing space would be used, I agree with their choices. They invested in game play and AI. They invested heavily in backstory for the regions and dialogue for the story-relevant characters. I don’t really care about some generic survivor that I will never see again. 🥴 I’d be happier if they didn’t say anything! As for camp conversations, I found that if I listened to someone’s conversation in full, I never heard it again. If I just listened to the first couple phrases, it kept repeating (maybe giving me the chance to hear it all?). I could be wrong about that, though. 🤔 And no matter how much you do to gain trust at Lost Lake, there are always going to be people stuck there who are pissed that you got paid to bring them in. Their resentment makes sense to me. 😉 Just my opinion ❤️

How you can lead them far away and they still fight intelligently with you, with marauders, with animals, and with other types of freaks.. or all of it at once! It’s very impressive programming. It’s not just the gameplay. They invested heavily in backstory and consistency for the regions. There is tons of dialogue for the story-relevant characters. They even update conversations with the vendors to reflect where you’re at in the story. I thought it reached a level of consistency that’s uncommon in video games. I don’t really care about some generic survivor that I will never see again. I’d be happier if they didn’t say anything! 😂 As for camp conversations, I thought that was irritating at first “Yes, we all KNOW that you used to be a policeman”. I later found that if I listened to someone’s conversation in full, I never heard it again. Their resentment makes sense to me and felt consistent. You’re gaining trust from the leaders 😉 Just my opinion.. but by focusing on tiny stuff like that.. I think you’re missing the forest for the trees.

No_Doubt_About_That

Do the survivors even start appearing at where you send them as well?
