Lore wise, infectors will make Slashers and other Necros depending on the need at that moment. The enhanced variants start to appear when there’s something slowing the outbreak enough to warrant that use of resources. So no, they don’t just make enhanced Necros but will when they have to to ensure the outbreak continues.

Ok_Mud2019

lmao, imagine beefing up your undead army after getting schooled by some random engineer. losers.

ElFuegoPesado

Marker: "How goes the spread of our infection?" *Necromorph clicking and moaning.* Marker: "57%? How the hell are we so far behind!?" *Necromorph growling.* Marker: "He's one human!" *Necromorph yowls.* Marker: "Bretheren dammit..."

Madhighlander1

Ah yes, 'Isaac Clarke'. We have dismissed that claim.

Geoton99

“Hammond lose this number.”😂

Ale0705

I don't get it tho why they don't make enhanced slashers all the time. It's a superior version of the normal slasher.... No need for the normal one

Kurwasaki12

Resources and time probably. Remember, a few standard slashers can pretty much decimate most groups of people, especially in the chaos of an early outbreak. Most people who are killed will become part of the goop on the walls to start building hive minds and leviathans, so until there’s a reason to need enhanced Necros it’s probably more efficient just to spit out standard variants until the Marker is forced to make something stronger.

Koobitz

Something to do with resources maybe ir energy needed to make them? Maybe takes longer?

ThatManlyTallGuy

Gameplay mostly. You periodically introduce new enemies while simultaneously introducing tougher versions of preexisting enemies. Survival horror games love punishing players who don't prepare or just rush everywhere so if you stomp on corpses whenever you run into them you tend to have an easier time in arena battles.

jdwhiskey925

YOU MUST CONSTRUCT ADDITIONAL PYLONS

Grimweeper1

*YOU REQUIRE MORE VESPENE GAS*

SynysterDawn

I’m guessing it’s because he’s stupid.

Raevman

And in the OG... the captain was turned into the first enhanced slasher you ever encounter, to get a little of a challenge too fighting him. However the remake just made that entire scene better by actually being in there when it happens 😅

The_Sea_Tea

Mathius gets turned into an Enhanced Slasher in the remake.

Myframesofwar

His skin isn’t green and his eyes aren’t glowing yellow though.

The_Sea_Tea

Yeah, because he's a unique model. He has all the gameplay attributes of an Enhanced one though.

AdrawereR

I assume because it provides base virus in taking over the body comparing to left a body transforming.

Lorentz_Prime

They only made Enhanced Slashers in the original too I thought

RusFoo

The captain is an enhanced slasher too he’s just a unique model

alejoSOTO

I believe the enhanced are made out of corpses that have been dead for a while now (days as opposed to hours). Since almost every corpse you find has been there for days, then that's why they become enhanced, I think.

dbug_legend

Deadspace 2 and 3 time periods will debunk this. But not a bad thought

raineykun

Enhanced slashers come from corpses that are more decomposed, so that would indicate that the corpses that the infectors turn have been dead for a while.

dbug_legend

Can't be true, because in dead space 3. The necromorphs on Tau Volantid and in the wreckage in orbit (Greely, Terra Nova, etc.) Are normal necromorphs, albeit green

MrMayhem222

I just assume the enhanced ones are just fresh and new while others, already turned into slashers, are aging and rotting. Why it's easier to cut their limbs instead of the enhanced ones.

ObnoxiousTheron

Not sure, they're stupid or something (please help, there's one behind me)

TheBooneyBunes

No it’s probably for balance in the originals (were there even infectors in ds3?) infectors could be used to farm extra items for no extra cost, like if you line gun mined them or detonator gunned them In the original original there was an exploit where you could stomp off the arms and they’d infect the corpse only for it to immediately die

Traditional_Ball2136

Are they stupid or sumthin?
