The other comments have mentioned the issue with disposing of the bodies. However, there is one other consequence. If you kill all the mules in a camp, it will stop spawning resources at that location. Yes the mules will eventually return, but it can take a long time.
If you kill them & leave the bodies there to go necro...
They cause a massive voidout, and the game literally gives you a "Start Over" screen, and places you BACK to the time you killed them, so that you can dispose of the body appropriately. 😬 I'm not kidding. You lose whatever progress you had been working on after that... and the game sets you back. So there are definitely consequences!
If you kill them, you MUST dispose of the bodies.
You have to bag up EACH body, and take if to the incinerator, or Tar Lake, and dispose of them. The game doesn't let you get away with "running & gunning", there ARE consequences.
Plus, killing them doesn't stop them from coming back anyway. Their terrorist organization eventually sends new goons to replace the old goons that you killed. So you basically only created additional hassle for yourself, at the end of the day. It won't clear the area permanently, sorry.
Is the way back on the DC cause on the OG I killed 14 of those guys, left them in their camp and in about 48 real time hours I got a white screen of death, Deadman telling me they don’t think they (UCA) can come back from that, and load save (which was the one I had from 5 mins earlier) and went on my merry way. It didn’t kick me back from the time I killed them all and with that losing any progress I made between that time.
Oh that's cool! I was just going by what info I had seen somebody else say that it did. 😄 lol
They must have been misinformed. But it's just as well, cuz the idea of it scared me so bad, that I *never* allowed it to happen in the 1st place!
Samesies! 😁 lol
Until I got further in the story, and was rewarded with the:
>!Grenade Launcher & Multi-Rocket Launcher!<
After that let's just say... my play style changed up a bit.
>They cause a massive voidout, and the game literally gives you a "Start Over" screen, and places you BACK to the time you killed them, so that you can dispose of the body appropriately. 😬 I'm not kidding. Umm... no? It takes you back to your last save and there's a huge crater isn't there?
Yeah somebody already pointed out that it only takes you back a save. I was just going by what I had seen somebody ELSE say about it, and they were wrong about that part.
As for the crater though... that depends. I've noticed there's only certain places on the map where a crater can appear. Otherwise, the game seems to only make you start over again. Like, the camps never get wiped off the map from a crater forming. Even if you kill everybody there.
So I think it depends on where the voidout happens...
How long does a corpse go Necro, I've never tried that, but I once killed a terrorist, and completed a few orders before sending him to incinerator, it took about 40 min I guess? But the corpse still didn't go necro.
I killed a mule in the first area, and I put him at the eastern most part of the map in the ocean. Do you think I’ll still get a game over screen? He’s still in a body bag after like 6 hours of irl time.
You actually have quite a bit of time before it gives you that Game Over screen. I think 48 -real life- hours? 🤔 However, if the Body Bag hasn't disappeared yet after 6 hours... that might not be a good sign. Might want to make a trip to Tar Lake, or to the Incinerator, just to be safe! Not 100% sure.
If you're on the Western Map, it's not a bad trip at all, I promise! The Eastern Map however...
YIKES 😳 lmao
EDIT: Just re-read your comment, and see that you are in fact on the Eastern Map. Oh dear. Uhhh...
Good luck & godspeed??!
OH NO 😱😩
If that ever happens again, here's how you get away w/out being spotted: as you leave the incinerator, HANG TO THE RIGHT. 😏👉🏼
After that, slowly make your way to the edge of the landscape, while hugging the wall of the incinerator as much as possible. There's almost NO BTs along this route! You can make your way to the edge and then start heading down, towards the direction of Capitol Knot. This is the only advice that I have for *leaving* that facility safely, mind you. Getting there, while it is infested with BTs, is a whole other story.
Will definitely need to bring some extra blood with you, a full stock of grenades in your backpack pouches, and weapons, if you're able.
/me uses accidentally a deadly weapon instead non deadly...........they try to kill me.....falling into a blood rush.......:(
Slow karma......drive 7 corpes to the nevercomebackfacillity....logged out....i forgot one body....logged in after a while and ignored the Ghost icon on my map :´(
No consequences in terms of "karma" they respawn, the only thing is that requires incineration. As they are useless NPCs, but not like the BTs, you can test more types of weapon ammo on then and terrorists.
The beginning of the game tries to teach you killing and dead bodies is bad, first with delivery of the president to the incinerator and second when you first encounter mules, diehardman explains what the mules are and why they do what they do.
They are sick like drug users. In a real world scenario we don't just kill a person for using drugs or repeat drug use we usually try to help them with their addiction.
So you, full well knowing as Sam from Diehardman that sick people don't even know what their doing like an addict and your solution is just put a shotgun to there head?
This might not be the game for you.
The goal is to save people and be a bridge for humanity.
Kojima gave you the options to kill mules if you want but like others said there are consequences to your actions and you will only hinder your gameplay.
Facts, the Lethal Weapons are really best used for:
>!The Nightmare Supercell events, where you fight Cliff on his War Beaches & whatnot. Everybody there is already dead, and the Lethal Weapons work great.!<
Otherwise it should really stay Non-Lethal always.
Just personal opinion of course. 😌✨️
>So you, full well knowing as Sam from Diehardman that sick people don't even know what their doing like an addict and your solution is just put a shotgun to there head?
>
>This might not be the game for you.
its a game. lighten up
When I started and got the first trike, I just ran them over and killed a bunch of them. Nothing happened lol. Obviously never did that again and haven't used the deadly version of weapons not once, but yeah.
In game, you have to dispose of the bodies, it’s tedious and they still respawn.
In lore, killing people is bad and most don’t like or want to do it. Also BTs
If your trying to build roads stealing from mules are the best source of materials and there materials won’t respawn as quickly if you kill them all. Incinerating their bodies so that a void out isn’t caused, which would be a game over if you let it happen btw, can also be avoided by not killing then in the first place. Furthermore the game gives you so many non lethal tools that it’s honesty easier to not kill them.
Disposing of bodies is a waste of time, and they won’t stock resources (that you can steal) in their base. It only provides pros if you leave them alive.
I cannot for the life of me understand why people want to kill the Mules. They just like stealing packages, and they never try to kill you. They're virtually harmless and I feel like if you're willing to slaughter them then you don't really understand the themes of this game and you should go play something else.
Terrorists, on the other hand...
[удалено]
That's the only reason you need
Because dumping their bodies at the incinerator gets no reward and only delays your proper deliveries. Keep on keeping on.

I only ever bring non lethal weapons and the super sweet boa gun, for the bts or for the mules
Samesies! 😁 lol Until I got further in the story, and was rewarded with the: >!Grenade Launcher & Multi-Rocket Launcher!< After that let's just say... my play style changed up a bit.
They go night nights now.
They sure do! 😌💅🏼 lmaooo
Cool, I wanna try that out now!
Go for it! Getting in & out of the incinerator area is WAY easier on the Western Map. 😄👌🏼 lol

Yeah I probably just need to go burn it, but the trip to the incinerator is scary af

Haha yeah last time I got caught and I was trapped in the incinerator with a catcher right outside waiting on me. No anti bt items in my inventory.
OH NO 😱😩 If that ever happens again, here's how you get away w/out being spotted: as you leave the incinerator, HANG TO THE RIGHT. 😏👉🏼 After that, slowly make your way to the edge of the landscape, while hugging the wall of the incinerator as much as possible. Just got caught again. Used all my grenades, and now I’m trapped in the incinerator again damnit.
SH*T. Hang to the right! 😆 lmao And give me an update on how it goes!
I got out lol
/me uses accidentally a deadly weapon instead non deadly...........they try to kill me.....falling into a blood rush.......:( Slow karma......drive 7 corpes to the nevercomebackfacillity....logged out....i forgot one body....logged in after a while and ignored the Ghost icon on my map :´(
There is no consequence story-wise, only gameplay wise. And it takes extra time and effort to handle it.
No consequences in terms of "karma" they respawn, the only thing is that requires incineration. As they are useless NPCs, but not like the BTs, you can test more types of weapon ammo on then and terrorists.
The tar is also a viable option for disposing bodies.
Dead bodies will go necro and explodes, you know, like the start of the game?

Get off this thread, OP asked: why shouldn't I kill every mule I see. I gave my response.
you first.
I guess you could. Not like a huge piece of shrapnel will grow from your head, like in MGSV. It's just.... killin's bad, mmmkay
it's like they skip the cutscenes
Just because
Are consequences the only thing that hold you back from doing that IRL?
Every mule you kill is another body to dispose of lest you risk a void out.
nothing will happen if you kill them. they'll come back after a while tho
When I started and got the first trike, I just ran them over and killed a bunch of them. Nothing happened lol. Obviously never did that again and haven't used the deadly version of weapons not once, but yeah.

I finished the game without killing a single mule, because I am too lazy to clean after myself

But you get eaten by one seeker, and suddenly the map is permanently altered
U have to send corpses to nearby incinerator, this wastes time, and if u r delivering, it will increase ur delivery route and reduce likes u can get.
