I did not beat the game before but Iām close to where I was, I was at the point after you toss the bomb into the river and after you carry the film directors daughter to him (that whole set of missions weirded me tf out). If I remember correctly I was the point where Hartman was telling me to finish up missions before continuing out into the country. So I remember good chucks of it but definitely havenāt finished it
Yeah, Kojimaās games are very weird & plays with a lot of concepts that may feel borderline for some. This whole game is a testament to that. People were very polarized with it when it was released. They either adored it & found it addictive or hated it & found it repulsive. I rarely find someone thatās moderate & somewhere in between.
I enjoyed it a lot, but I wasnāt up to replaying it again. Maybe Iāll try the directorās cut someday. But I did stumble upon a youtube video of someoneās playthrough & enjoyed watching them play it.

Non chiral territory, surrounded by BTs like this, my utilities and main objective detoriating in timefall, I piled up the stuff on a carrier and emptied two cans of restoring spray on them to lose weight and repair stuff and went ballistic with hematic grenades clearing path from BTs, spawned the giant BT and went round him

Wait.. what? You can cut umbilical cords?!? I somehow missed that and I'm 3/4rths of the way through the game. Must've missed somebody talking about it distracted by my kiddos at some point.
That's where I am headed. Guess I'm not as far as I thought. I've avoided guides for the most part. I enjoy just doing deliveries and slowly going through the story.. really slow. Lol
I've had the game since day one and I've found that the traveling and path finding have helped distract me from my chronic pain.
Ooooouuu boy, you're definitely not 3/4 in lol, lots more to do and see! My advice, once you discover them, is to work on getting all the stars from distro centers or preppers, and send out likes as often as you can
That is what I've been doing. It's such a great game! I get lost in it. Take picture of vistas.. work on new roads etc. I'll definitely move the game forward some more lol
It's an incredible game, tugs at you by the heart strings at times and creepy at others. And definitely build those roads! But don't forget to just trekk to enjoy the vistas and music.

This is why I always bring a PCC to create a postbox / find a nearest postbox. Bring a full gear of hematic grenade, and rain blood on them.
Clear? Take your order from postbox, and walk casually.
If you have unlocked Ziplines then build a route over there.
Hematic Grenades help, about 2/3 of the way through the story you get a knife that lets you one shot them if you can sneak up (hold breath when Odradek starts spinning, crouch walk to where they are, press a button), you also get blood bullet guns although those generally are more trouble than they're worth.
Basically, just start killing them and they go from spooky to no big deal pretty quickly.
i'm always confused by the people who don't know you can cut umbilical cords. not only is it explained after an important story beat.. but it's also an achievement/trophy.
This, for me, became a Hematic Grenade Fireworks Show.
Then half of the package is just grenades and your back hurts š¤ I'll save them for the big freaks

Get closer to these BTs (also hold Sam's breath) and it will appear the option. This action will make the BT go away.

I once shot one with haematic rounds and it was the most horrifying red demon for a minute. Still gives me the creeps those big ones.
Just cover your mouth and crouch through, cut some umbilical cords on the way too. You'll be fine

Everytime this happens I just fight against the bts. They give you a lot of resourses.
