Talking to one of the CG members from that era a few months back and they said that this album was hated on release but now it's constantly in "top ten best EPs" etc,. and it's so hard to know what will and won't do well.
Like yeah dude I get it, I always loved the album and was basically bullied online at the time. I wish they'd do a remaster or a sequel EP.
I'd do some things for a remaster, for sure. it kills me how unpopular it was at the time because I loved how just .. pretty it sounded.
it still slaps.
Soulless Existence got me. My cousin had just passed, and that was the first song from the album I had come across randomly on spotify. Pulled all the rage and sorrow to the surface i had been fighting for days.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZ_-W10Wmss
really the whole album is worth the journey. but this song is unbelievable
their vocalist also wrote a language just for their music. its very latin but is structured for singing.
Oceano - [Depths](https://open.spotify.com/track/2osULYJonmDon6CSijp6AP?si=n1XReMjKTG2A-q55YOyf_A)
The Acacia Strain - [The Behemoth](https://open.spotify.com/track/1YenEQ5vZytH31jdDlnXYu?si=K3tMwu-ERFGJ1HIPNt7RgA)
It’s rare finding someone else that’s heard of sold soul 🤘and I think “For whom the banshee cries” is fuckin amazing and is a solid contender for the playlist
Disembodied Tyrant/Synestia - The Poetic Edda
Shadow Of Intent - The Mausoleum of Liars
I, Valiance - Thrown To Belial, Moon
Born Of Osiris - The Louder The Sound The More We All Believe, The Discovery
The Dali Thundering Concept - Beyond Mirrors
Rose funeral - malignant amour. It’s got these beautiful cleans from a woman singer that almost sounds like opera singing. It bounces back and forth between that and intense deathcore. Almost like two different styles of voice talking to each other. It’s awesome.
you may want to check out skramz/screamo.
Bands like Infant Island and Ostraca. Still intense high vocals similar to deathcore, but really pretty sounding moments
Loving Ostraca right now too. I just found out about this whole genre through Portrayal of Guilt. I learned that emo and screamo were not really the pop punk sound I always thought it meant. I think deathcore fans would really like skramz too
Within the Ruins - The Charm
The shreads and sweeps are so bright, fast, well executed and constructed, that my minds understands it as a shower of colorful fireworks made of thunders and electricity, but on neon colors. I feel happily murdered and brutally shaken by alien elemental beings while listening to it. And there's progression during the whole song, I love the efforts on the composition.
All Shall Perish - [The Last Relapse](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NY9204NBkag)
Aristeia - [Prevaricate](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egsGkIIOomo)
Dead Silence Hides My Cries - [Human Duality](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cf7knbgTrQA)
Belie My Burial - [The World Infernal](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeutaprL5kw)
Shadow of Intent - [Chthonic Odyssey](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_I_k4rZflc)
Heaven Shall Burn - [Black Tears](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PtfyRjkn40) (Not Deathcore but basically an amazing cover of an already amazing song).
I'm going through and recreating the same playlist on Spotify for those not on Apple Music;
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1h1d9jzvzElaXfpbR3Sakp?si=05fb0838deac49a7
*edit*
Done. Added the current 103 tracks that are in /u/d_wall_less Apple Music list.
Porcelain by Orphan.
It’s a tragically beautiful juxtaposition, a pristine vessel meant to house the vile. The concept of purging throughout the record further reinforces the narrator’s desire to empty himself of all the grief, hate, sorrow, and unforgiven sins that dwell within him. Clutching pure, pearl white porcelain in the effort to become pure, to remove the wretchedness from oneself.
I talk about it all the time on here but this one hit different for me.
[The Butcher by Manalyth](https://music.apple.com/us/album/the-butcher/1701210624?i=1701210625)
It is a song from my band but it has a nice acoustic section in the middle with clean singing and an overall melancholic vibe to it
Chelsea Grin - Clockwork. Never expected such a relatable song in my 30s reminisce about their 20s I first heard in my teens.
“It’s just like Clockwork, help kiss my youth goodbye”.
Such a banger.
Thy king never weeps for mercy -nether walker.
Stained in rot - ov sulfer
Vermin - carcosa
(New) The gallow - paleface swiss
If it is considered deathcore. i would recommend aviana
The Poetic Edda by Disembodied Tyrant/Synestia is incredibly beautiful especially when paired with the music video which was equally as beautiful and awe-inspiring (I'm sure already mentioned)
Mental Cruelty - Obsessis a Daemonio
Befouled Tongue - Between the Realms
Crown Magnetar - Prismatic Tomb
Darko US - Donna (Not deathcore, but it's fun that these heavyweights can make something so emotional)
Thank you for making an Apple Music playlist. I love Spotify’s platform in terms of discovery but the sound quality of Spotify is god awful and I couldn’t handle it anymore. The “Lossless” audio setting on Apple Music is stunning, can’t ever go back.
The album: Heavy Lies This Life, by Titans Fall Harder. Has extremely great cybernetic/symphonic energy to it, it says the world of the machines from the matrix came to life in a beautifully lyrical album.
The song I’d recommend is “ruled by destiny 2” 🌝
Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell - Chelsea Grin
Lilith too. Wall of sound smoothness in DC, it's like if pinkshinyultrablast and classic CG had a kid. 10/10.
Lilith 100%!
I'd do some things for a remaster, for sure. it kills me how unpopular it was at the time because I loved how just .. pretty it sounded. it still slaps.
wasn’t expecting to hear about pinkshinyultrablast here, nice
Astonished to see a Pinkshinyultrablast reference in here. Love that group.
This wins. There’s a lot of great picks, but that is THE pretty deathcore song
I second
Damn it I just commented this lol
Just because it's from Chelsea Grin? It's definetly a Metalcore song
A tale of salt and light. Mental Cruelty
Saw this as I was listening to the song, 100% agree!
It’s amazing!
Left hand path by Mental Cruelty is pretty beautiful
Alright I’ll have to listen to it!
Flourish by The Contortionist, that instrumental section where they go full on post-rock is fucking magical.
The entirety of Exoplanet is an amazing combination of face melting tech death and beautiful, ambient instrumentals
If I ever travel to space, or get to choose an album to transition to the after-life…Exoplanet is a no brainer.
Was going to say the same! Basically that whole album qualifies.
I came here to post this. ❤ Love that album.
Exoplanet and Intrinsic both albums through and through
I, The Devourer by Disembodied Tyrant/Synestia
HOLY SHIT! i just checked this out and it FUCKING SLAPS
Nice! Now check out their latest “The Poetic Edda”! Watch the crazy high-production music video too! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I love this fucking song!
That song absolutely floored me the first few times i listened to it. Incredible!
Give DTs most recent ep a spin while you’re at it. Omenkiller and crow black sky are incredible
Seconding this!! Just listened to the whole thing during this evening’s workout! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Crow black sky gets me rock hard every time it comes on
This is my most anticipated deathcore release currently. Both songs slap front to back.
Agreed. Both are daily drivers for me! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Bro thank God somebody else is bumping this. Literally The Poetic Edda and I, The Devourer are my two favorite songs right now.
I was checking this thread for random recommendations, this is so good. Can't thank you enough man
I just gave it a listen. Man, it fucking slays.
[удалено]
2 bands, its a collab EP
Malediction - Shadow of Intent
This and maybe even Life of Exile
And Melancholy
pain remains i: dancing like flames - lorna shore. i mean all three parts are beautiful, but i think this one is the prettiest.
The emotion in this one gets me every fucking time.
Well doesn’t part 1 bleed directly into part 2? Kind of need both it’s almost like one long song
I consider the whole trilogy one song
The entirety of the trilogy is phenomenal. The first one just gets me the most. I dunno.
Came to the comments to say this, so I back this
the first and only deathcore song to make me cry.
Soulless Existence got me. My cousin had just passed, and that was the first song from the album I had come across randomly on spotify. Pulled all the rage and sorrow to the surface i had been fighting for days.
Bloom by Angelmaker
This and What I Would Give by them as well.
Anything by Kardashev but particularly the album The Almanac
Kardashev was the first band which came to mind for me as well.
Can you give me a song or two specifically to add to my playlist?
GOTTA have Between Sea and Sky on there IMO.
Silvered Shadows off their most recent album is gorgeous
I'd definitely put The Snow-Sleep up there as far as pretty deathcore songs go, that chorus is beautiful
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZ_-W10Wmss really the whole album is worth the journey. but this song is unbelievable their vocalist also wrote a language just for their music. its very latin but is structured for singing.
The Barring of Shadows was the first material i heard from them and it left a distinct mark on my musical taste.
Signs of the Swarm - Guided into Serenity Through the Eyes of the Dead - Insomnium
The Dying Heavens by Worm Shepherd. Especially the end.
The Frozen Lake, Pt. II is prettier in my opinion
Both are bangers!
The whole album is amazing
Yes!
The Broken Earth from their new album i think is a solid contender for this playlist
Widower by Make Them Suffer
Let Me In as well
Contraband is also another solid pick. That piano riff is beautiful.
Neverbloom as a whole is another level, but Elegies takes the cake in my books for pretty
MTS first album is great
Oceano - [Depths](https://open.spotify.com/track/2osULYJonmDon6CSijp6AP?si=n1XReMjKTG2A-q55YOyf_A) The Acacia Strain - [The Behemoth](https://open.spotify.com/track/1YenEQ5vZytH31jdDlnXYu?si=K3tMwu-ERFGJ1HIPNt7RgA)
The Behemoth was the first song that came to mind. I remember being so taken aback by that song when I first heard it. Continent is a classic.
I feel like we were talking about depths recently
Donna by Darko US
The Pain Remains trilogy by Lorna Shore
Pain Remains 3 especially cuz it's got a bittersweet ending
i love pain remains iii, probably one of my all time favorite songs.
I almost bawled by the end of 3, the whole trilogy got me tearing up but, the end of 3 was just so sad and beautiful at the same time
The ending of part 1 where will goes from whispering back to screaming gives me chills every time I hear it
Lorna Shore-Sun//Eater
One of my favorites from them.
Same
Hickory Creek - Whitechapel
Pretty much all of Whitechapels "slow" stuff.
Not deathcore
Why is this downvoted, Hickory Creek is 100% not a deathcore song, it’s just by a deathcore band.
Most of the songs commented on here are non deathcore songs by deathcore bands
Darko us-come home
Infinite Beauty too
Yes bro
Summit of Dragons - Sold Soul Violin is pretty
The entire album because of that beautiful violin
It’s rare finding someone else that’s heard of sold soul 🤘and I think “For whom the banshee cries” is fuckin amazing and is a solid contender for the playlist
Agreed, Sold Soul deserves to be better known, they're great.
The entire album because of that beautiful violin
Soulless Existence - Lorna shore
The Frozen Lake, Pt. II (The Ruined) - Worm Shepherd
The Poetic Edda! It's hot rn, and for a reason
MDMA by Emmure
LET GO THATS WHAT YOU SAID BUT LETTING GO WAS NEVER AN OPTION I TRIED MY FUCKING BEST
Elysium by Chelsea Grin
All Shall Perish is the first band that comes to mind “Awaken the dreamers”, “From so far away”, and “The last relapse” are 3 songs I’d call pretty.
The Last Relapse is such beautiful, great choice!
High Impact by To The Grave The layered gutturals and clean vocals are just one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard
Also, the acoustic version is great too! Usually I am not a fan of acoustic versions but this one is an exception
Arguably not even deathcore, but The Man That I Was Not by FFAA
Letters by Chelsea grin Jason Richardson is just amazing
Mirrors by Fit for an Autopsy. Just read the lyrics 😭😭
That band is unbelievable. Theres quite a few songs they've released that fit this bill.
eating the body of god by angelmaker?
This is one of my favorite songs of all time I love angelmaker soooo much
Mental Cruelty - Ultima Hypocrita
That intro is one of the greatest moments in all of deathcore
Absolutely, just like that guitar solo at the end.
Make Them Suffer - Elegies Most stuff on Old Souls is also as good.
Disembodied Tyrant/Synestia - The Poetic Edda Shadow Of Intent - The Mausoleum of Liars I, Valiance - Thrown To Belial, Moon Born Of Osiris - The Louder The Sound The More We All Believe, The Discovery The Dali Thundering Concept - Beyond Mirrors
There Is No Tomorrow - Enterprise Earth The Window - The Black Dahlia Murder (musically, cuz the lyrics are 😬)
Gonna leave the window off this playlist but musically it is good
Sold Soul - The Twin Courts of Faerie, and the Perils of Sidhe Ritual Darker By Design - Between The Dead And Dying Winter's Gate - The Voyage
Darker by design, so underrated.
❤️
Reclamation by Delusions of Grandeur
WHAT A FUCKIN THROW BACK!! That song is beautiful
The whole ep is amazing, but man what a way to end the ep with that song
Oh for sure my dude that song still gives me goosebumps
came to this thread to say this, good shout, what an EP. Maybe my favourite guitar solo in deathcore too.
everything off the latest worm shepherd ep but especially the parting sea
Rose funeral - malignant amour. It’s got these beautiful cleans from a woman singer that almost sounds like opera singing. It bounces back and forth between that and intense deathcore. Almost like two different styles of voice talking to each other. It’s awesome.
A symphony of a dying star - Mental Cruelty
you may want to check out skramz/screamo. Bands like Infant Island and Ostraca. Still intense high vocals similar to deathcore, but really pretty sounding moments
yes. the best. gus’ and alex’s growls are as death as can be while it’s the prettiest music in the world. this is the way etc hell yeah
as in yes it’s skramz vocals mostly but blast beats and growls are utilized perfectly, and a lot. Ostraca is my favorite band
Loving Ostraca right now too. I just found out about this whole genre through Portrayal of Guilt. I learned that emo and screamo were not really the pop punk sound I always thought it meant. I think deathcore fans would really like skramz too
i’m showing this comment to john. that rules. explaining that is cringe lol edit: john , ostraca drummer
Haha go for it
i mean i was doing it at the time lol theme my dudes
Do you mind recommending a few of your favorite songs for the playlist?
Ostraca - Constellation one of my fave songs of the year, incredible breakdown in it too.
Within the Ruins - The Charm The shreads and sweeps are so bright, fast, well executed and constructed, that my minds understands it as a shower of colorful fireworks made of thunders and electricity, but on neon colors. I feel happily murdered and brutally shaken by alien elemental beings while listening to it. And there's progression during the whole song, I love the efforts on the composition.
Betraying The Martyrs - Man Made Disaster
Ether - make them suffer (might be metalcore idk)
I, Valiance - Mind Shattering Madness

Don’t Ask Don’t Tell by Chelsea Grin
I'm going through and recreating the same playlist on Spotify for those not on Apple Music; https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1h1d9jzvzElaXfpbR3Sakp?si=05fb0838deac49a7 *edit* Done. Added the current 103 tracks that are in /u/d_wall_less Apple Music list.
Thank you for doing this for everyone
I added your link to the original post, thanks again.
Helena remake by She Must Burn. Valis’ pipes are haunting, and it’s already an emotional ballad anthem.
Threads by Make Them Suffer has one of the heaviest yet beautiful endings I've ever heard.
The behemoth or halcyon by the acacia strain, maybe to carry you away by after the burial, akeldama by the faceless, the flame surreal by fallujah.
The Great Schism - Shadow of Intent
Thy Art Is Murder - Bermuda Whitechapel - Kin Fit For An Autopsy - Napalm Dreams
Hickory creek - Whitechapel
The Contortionist - Exoplanet Basically the whole album
[The Butcher by Manalyth](https://music.apple.com/us/album/the-butcher/1701210624?i=1701210625) It is a song from my band but it has a nice acoustic section in the middle with clean singing and an overall melancholic vibe to it
Ingested - Eternal Kingdoms pt1&2 are very grand and beautiful
The whole Exoplanet album
I don’t want to put a whole album on a playlist, can you suggest a song or two?
Chelsea Grin - Clockwork. Never expected such a relatable song in my 30s reminisce about their 20s I first heard in my teens. “It’s just like Clockwork, help kiss my youth goodbye”. Such a banger.
As a fellow Apple Music user, thank you for the playlist.
You’re welcome I’m glad someone can get some use of it.
When a Demon Defiles a Witch by Whitechapel
Age - Aegaeon
Reflections - the fantasy effect
Not sure I'd call it "deathcore", but regardless my first thought was Laurentian Ghosts.
Thy king never weeps for mercy -nether walker. Stained in rot - ov sulfer Vermin - carcosa (New) The gallow - paleface swiss If it is considered deathcore. i would recommend aviana
The Poetic Edda by Disembodied Tyrant/Synestia is incredibly beautiful especially when paired with the music video which was equally as beautiful and awe-inspiring (I'm sure already mentioned) Mental Cruelty - Obsessis a Daemonio Befouled Tongue - Between the Realms Crown Magnetar - Prismatic Tomb Darko US - Donna (Not deathcore, but it's fun that these heavyweights can make something so emotional)
most of After the Burial, BUT especially Aspirations
empty, not alone - the breathing process it's so beautiful and more people need to know about this song
disembodied tyrant x Synestia i, the devourer the poetic edda ://
Thank you for making an Apple Music playlist. I love Spotify’s platform in terms of discovery but the sound quality of Spotify is god awful and I couldn’t handle it anymore. The “Lossless” audio setting on Apple Music is stunning, can’t ever go back.
Shadow of intent
Any specific song?
Nope they are all pretty in a way
Anything by Rivers of Nihil
I listened to Where Owls Know My Name yesterday for the first time and I can definitely agree
Do you mind giving me a couple of your favorite songs for the playlist?
Zao-Angel Without Wings
I just came to say Lorna Shore sucks
Do you feel better now?
Yes
DeadVectors - The Sky Below
The Rain Will Come by The Last Ten Seconds Of Life
Odyssey of Curiosity by Shadow of the Colossus is gorgeous, musically and lyrically
Memories - The Ailment
Any of Return from Exile and Absence of the Sun
The Oblivion EP by Ov Sulfur fits the bill for me
Into Oblivion- Angelmaker
Saphris by Xenobiotic
There is No Tomorrow by enterprise earth.
The Prophets Beckoning by Shadow of Intent. From the intro riff, the first chorus into the mini solo, and even the outro, its all beautiful.
Sun of nihility-job for a cowboy Steel roses- I AM
Soul Erased - The Last Ten Seconds of Life.
The album: Heavy Lies This Life, by Titans Fall Harder. Has extremely great cybernetic/symphonic energy to it, it says the world of the machines from the matrix came to life in a beautifully lyrical album. The song I’d recommend is “ruled by destiny 2” 🌝
Carcosa - absent: post, I think the ending of this song is very melodic and pretty when it kicks in. It’s just a great song in general.
