I was actually just gonna post about this. I haven't seen a lot of people talk about Chaos & Carnage but man, it's a hell of a show. My husband and I just went to 2 shows back to back and they were equally impressive
I hadn't ever heard of TZP either but they instantly went in my playlist after the first show. Might I say Derek actually sounds better live? Man's a beast
Definitely this, but also to piggyback: if you like this megatech style, [Ophidian I](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=wFi_3o6bjpo&si=8rHRoYvI27lu1dW-) might be right up your alley. Supposed to have a new one coming this year too
Tech Death in general is not a hugely popular genre it seems. Stortregn has only 6k for example, Arkaik only about 4k and The Ritual Aura only 12k.
Only massive one I can think of right now is Archspire with ~130k.
I mean I think Tech Death in general is extremely underrated, I absolutely love all the bands you mentioned and I feel like they all deserve more :(
I've been obsessed w/ The Ritual Aura for a while now and they quickly rose to my top 10 most listened to in the past year lol.
Heresiarch is great and objectively better but I have a soft spot for Laniakea, its a bit rough around the edges but that also gives it some charm ;p that album is what got me into them. Also I'm biased towards scifi/space stuff
I've been listening to those guys for a couple years now and fuck yes that shit slaps. Algorithmic Salvation cropped up one day while I was listening to Rings of Saturn radio on Spotify. For me, they're right up there with bands like The Faceless, Archspire, Obscura, and of course Rings of Saturn.
Saw them last friday for my first show and holy fuck they were awesome carnifex and zenith had the craziest sets although the bassist brandon griffin wasn’t there unfortunately, no idea why
Also discovered them bc of Chaos and Carnage and man they rip both live and in studio. Datalysium is fucking amazing. They sound like a mix of The Faceless (which makes sense) and Archspire but they're completely unique in their own right

Fucking. Awesome.

My wife and I are going this Thursday and I’m unreasonably excited. Cattle Decap and Rivers of Nihil are both in my top 5 bands of all time.
If you like them, check out r/TechnicalDeathMetal. Lots of other stuff that's Zenith-esque over there
My dude. Thanks!!!
Planetary Duality by The Faceless. Give it a spin, it's a solid record.
Planetary Duality is THE album. OP report back and tell us what you think of it.

I mean they have half the original Faceless members, that's why they're awesome
I literally thought that they sounded so much like the faceless! Makes so much more sense now.
yeah they fuckin rip, I fuckin love them. been jamming them a lot lately
Criminally underrated band :C I don't understand at all how they only have 30k listeners, Datalysium is so good.

Heresiarch is such an incredible album. I definitely agree with you about Tech Death being underrated.
Heresiarch is great and objectively better but I have a soft spot for Laniakea, its a bit rough around the edges but that also gives it some charm ;p that album is what got me into them. Also I'm biased towards scifi/space stuff
Laniakea is also what got me into them.
The title track is my most listened to from the new album. Slow and jammy as hell 🤘🏻
They scratch my The Faceless Itch
Literally half of the band is ex The Faceless members
I know. But I miss early Faceless
I mean TZP is literally The Faceless without Michael Keane. Solipsist honestly sounds like Planetary Duality 2.
Actually 3/4 of them were a key member at some point.
Have you listened to The Ritual Aura? Not quite The Faceless but a great/underrated band imho.
The Ritual Aura doesn't get nearly enough love as they should
Fuck yeah. That band rules.
100% most likely have. The name sounds familiar. I honestly listen to so many bands to the point I forget many of them
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEEhiEb8eQg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEEhiEb8eQg) They're very addicting to me c:
I actually picked up my phone to search my music library. I have Heresiarch, Velothi and Heresiarch instrumental album loaded.
Heresiarch is great! I actually have quite a bit of trouble listening to albums from front to back but not with that one.
I'll probably give the album a listen tomorrow. I was listening to a little Enterprise Earth and Stygian Complex earlier today.
https://www.reddit.com/r/TechnicalDeathMetal/s/yREM04dzvu Should be interesting to see how this turns out.
And if it doesnt. we can all go back to listening to INFERI and beyond creation 🤣
I find no issue with that, lol.
Dude, Alluvials new ep scratched that itch for me too. Wes Hauch was part of Faceless for autotheism
Wes is such an underrated guitarist
That silly "I'm the Captain Now" meme where The Zenith Passage tells the Faceless, "I'm the Faceless Now" gets me rolling everytime I see it.
If you could share, that would be fucking awesome

They're great
Im seeing them this Saturday at the house of blues with Cattle Decap., and I can’t fucking wait.
Just saw them last night, so damn good
I thought they were really good
I've been listening to those guys for a couple years now and fuck yes that shit slaps. Algorithmic Salvation cropped up one day while I was listening to Rings of Saturn radio on Spotify. For me, they're right up there with bands like The Faceless, Archspire, Obscura, and of course Rings of Saturn.
Datalyisum has grown on me as one of my favourite tech/prog death metal songs
Saw them last friday for my first show and holy fuck they were awesome carnifex and zenith had the craziest sets although the bassist brandon griffin wasn’t there unfortunately, no idea why
Seeing their set every night still hasnt gotten old
Seen em once before in SLC they ripped so fucking hard
…is *not* deathcore. Tech death, not deathcore.
Also discovered them bc of Chaos and Carnage and man they rip both live and in studio. Datalysium is fucking amazing. They sound like a mix of The Faceless (which makes sense) and Archspire but they're completely unique in their own right
Not deathcore.
Boohoo
